  • Not such an early start this morning but had to be out and up to the medical centre by 9am for that intrusive screening that women get  :o

Got myself organised last night and remembered to take lamb mince and a salmon fillet out of the freezer. Already have the mince cooking for a moussaka later in the week and the salmon marinating for tonight.

So meals today = lunch of egg mayo, salad and crisp sandwich and tonight its teriyaki salmon with stir fried leeks, bean sprouts & cavolo nero.

Horrid day, it's rained nearly all day sometimes quite heavy - I think the guttering above the kitchen window needs looking at  :s  definitely a staying in day ☔️

I forgot the car tax was coming out today via DD at least my small premium bond win this month covered it, easy come easy go🙄

Another rainy day for us both today Brambling, very wet & dull right now
And, Snap!, I had a PB win as well, first since January so at least they are still in the mix

I had intended picking more runners today, but much too wet to go fumbling in wet foliage. Pleased with my runners this year, a dead loss last year.

I'm assembling a trifle, using the porridge oats cake I made, so it'll be even healthier with fruit and calcium in the custard.

Lunch, grilled cheese on toast, + pickle
Dinner, CBA MFO RM Chicken Tikka

    Good morning everyone,
There's a rarely spotted big orange thing in the sky and it's heating up, 19C so far and rising. :) Looks as though the weather gods are smiling favourably on the nearby air show tomorrow. Just waiting for the washing machine to finish a second load. Hopefully it will all be dry by this evening.
LO pasta for lunch and usual Friday tbc for dinner.
  • Picked a lovely day to be off, summer was back for a day. Had a relaxed morning, meal planned and grocery shopped before sitting out with my free croissant and the Waitrose free paper for a bit. Went out to a local art event which was nice but there was very limited food at the cafe so came home for a cheese, tomato and chutney sandwich. More sitting out with my book this afternoon. Sausages and charred honey mustard potatoes on the bbq tonight with salad.

Heavy rain and thunder woke me up this morning and most of the day had been grey and wet ☹️

I sorted my fridge this morning, i wanted to use the odds and sods of veg.  This afternoon I had a call re volunteering, the NT volunteering isn't many days a month so I'm going to do something else one day a week

tabbouleh for lunch with feta and olives.  Nasi Goreng for dinner with tender broccoli and runner beans

Weather was the same this side of the border, and even though it's dry now it's still dull & grey
You'll have no trouble finding somewhere to volunteer, everyone wants volunteers, it's finding a spot that suits your requirements as well that can be tricky

All the rain has caused some of my tomatoes to split, luckily still edible with a rinse. I'll ripen the rest indoors, I think.

Lunch, tinned ham & pickle sarnie
Dinner, with the weather, probably pasta of some sort

    Good morning everyone,
Sounds as though you'll soon be wondering how you had time to work Brambling!
It's another glorious day here and I intend to make the most of the sunshine while it lasts, and with nice clear skies should be able to catch some of the air displays or more likely them heading off afterwards. To avoid the commercial routes they tend to come low over here before heading back to where ever.
Last night I roasted three chicken thigh fillets wrapped in bacon to use up some rashers. I had one last night with roast veg and HM oven chips. We'll have the others with salad in wraps for lunch. CFO tonight will see what I fancy later.
  • Well, what a difference a day makes! Grey and damp/drizzly here today. It wasn’t cold but even when it wasn’t actually raining it was grey grey grey…

Basil and ricotta tortellini, sweetcorn and sun dried tomatoes for lunch. Steak and chips (from the co-op deal) with salad tonight.

It seems we had a dry day here unfortunately I was volunteering 17 miles away and it was wet most of the day,it meant we weren't that busy

Foodwise was the same as yesterday LO tabbouleh for lunch with some added cooked chicken which needed using and LO Nasi Goreng for dinner

  • I had a toasted bagel with peanut butter and a cup of tea. It does feel cooler today and I have a sweatshirt on. I did put the fleecy blanket on the bed last night.
