    Good morning everyone,
Cooler and slightly overcast here today. Yesterday was uncomfortable warm and humid so I'm glad of a fresher day. Unfortunately yesterday turned out a bit hazy so couldn't see any of the air displays though could hear some of them flying over. Rain coming in later so will make the most of the dry weather while it lasts.
Last night I baked a pork shoulder steak in foil with lots of veg. There's LO veg which I'm going to have for lunch with eggs. Tonight it's spiced chicken flatbreads with salad and minty yoghurt.
  • I was out for a pub lunch yesterday and just picked at snacks & fruit when I got back so no cfo.

We had thick fog yesterday but its much clearer today though still quite cloudy. Its also somewhat cooler in the mornings so wont be long before I need to think about some heating going on.

Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on toast for brunch.
Tonight its moussaka, shredded cabbage and crusty bread.

  • Damp and miserable here this morning but then turned into a lovely afternoon - got two loads of bedding and towels line dried!

Bed changed, dusting and hoovering done, even cleaned a few windows 😇

I’ve also swum, watched stuff and read.

Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toast for lunch. Made a bean stew with crispy halloumi tonight.

We had a thunderstorm about midnight last night and when I went to the bathroom at 3.30am there was no thunder but some impressive lightning ⚡️ heavy rain most of the day until suddenly blue skies just after 5.

My sister and I had free hot drink vouchers from the garden centre if we brought cake, so my late lunch was a cheese scone (they were flexible 😁) I'm not sure if they are made on site or just cooked on site but they have gotten very nice this year 😋 we had a couple of hours catch up as the cafe was quiet, too wet!

I took out a slow roast beef joint from the freezer for dinner which was half price YS 😁 i pressure cooked it with stock, onion and red wine in the bottom of the ninja.  No roasties or Yorkshire puds today just tenderstem broccoli, runner beans, carrots and new potatoes. There is a lot left!

Dry for now, first thing I was out picking the last of my tomatoes to ripen indoors, now a cold spell is on the way, allegedly.
I've done well this year, I think using blight tolerant varieties has helped to get them ripe before the plant dies

    Lunch, another salad sarnie
Dinner, being cooler, a pie calls from the freezer. That, plus HM mash, with fresh carrots & own runners

We had the rain, plus sun, which gave this

    Good morning everyone,
    Gorgeous photo Farway.  :)
I do love a cheese scone Brambling.
Dry so far but overcast and much cooler. It's to rain and get quite windy later.
Domestics and admin on the "to do" today.
Fridge bits for lunch and chilli con carne with rice for dinner. I started the chilli yesterday so an easy one tonight.
  • Lovely rainbow.

It is feeling a bit chiller today. I just popped to the shop to buy foil and kitchen roll. I think I'm going to put some tights on.

I had toast with Flora and Marmite and a cup of Yorkshire tea. I have ordered some chai tea mix from Amazon as I am trying to avoid coffee as I think it definitely is a migraine trigger.

I ordered an Indian takeaway last night and so I have leftovers for dinner tonight. I am going to make soup for lunch and have it with rolls. Sundried tomato and red lentil.

Needed a top up of F&V as well as some bread goods so jumped a bus to retail park this morning then had crusty bread, blue cheese & grapes for lunch when I got back.

Tonight I cba cooking, just dipped into the freezer for a portion of quiche and had that with some new pots and hm coleslaw.

  • Chilly when I went out at 7.15 this morning. Long sleeves, long trousers and proper shoes today.

Spiced roasted sweet potato, lentil and feta salad for lunch. Made a yummy chicken and mushroom risotto tonight, served with broccoli.
