  • It rained a lot last night/early morning. It is sunny now, but I thought there were storm warnings for today. Oh yes, just checked it is meant to be thundery showers. Doesn't look like it at the moment.

I think I might have muesli for breakfast.

  • I wasn't able to post yesterday as I was taking part in a "no screen day" The challenge meant mobile phones could only be used for calls, no computers, etc and no tv so missed out on strictly. I listened to a lot of music, did some crafts, even resorted to a game of patience. I made soup for lunch and a monkfish curry for tea.

Today's lunch was leftover curry with a flatbread. Tonight I'll do pasta puttanesca haven't made that for ages.

  • ^ That must have been difficult to keep off screens.

I got my Holland & Barrett delivery early so I had a pate sandwich for lunch along with some fruit. I'm making kebabs later as I bought some pitta bread and I have these veggie beef steaks and salad stuff and chilli sauce.

I don't know what happened to the storms we we meant to have. It is quite warm and sunny.

That is the tasty way, gulls permitting. I was just fancying “proper” chippy F & Cs soon myself. Now even more so.

    But not today
Lunch, fake Spam & pickle sarnie
Dinner, thick pork chop out defrosting, that, grilled, with nuked LO mash & frozen mixed veg

    Good morning everyone,
Overcast and chilly here today. Feels very damp but not actually raining.
Admin and domestics on the cards today. The family are coming for dinner tomorrow and I want to prep a cottage pie ready just to pop in the oven tomorrow evening.
There's LO chicken so I'll have that in a wrap with salad for lunch. Aubergine and black bean curry tonight based on a Chetna Makan recipe that uses mushrooms. When I made it a few weeks ago we both thought aubergine instead of mushrooms would work well so fingers crossed it works!

I found it quite easy Wednesday the only thing I really missed was the evening TV programmes that I usually watch, that was when I started rummaging through my music collection  B)

Chilly Billy here the heating has kicked in with the temp dropping quite a bit and I'm thinking its time to give the summer duvet a rest.

Used up the last of the prosciutto in a frittata for my lunch today and there is enough for tomorrow too.

Chicken & leek pie with a sweet potato topping for tea tonight, cabbage & carrots on the side.

I had a lovely family catch up over the weekend and we got home 5pm last night only getting caught in one heavy rain shower 🙂 weekend road closure on the A27 near Farway meant a different than usual way home but being a Sunday the country route wasn't too busy compared to radio reports of long delays on the official diversion route.  All six of my siblings managed to meet up as well as 3 nephews, 1 niece, 1 great niece, 1 great great niece and 1 GG nephew and my ex sister in law and her OH (she's been family since she was 14 and divorced from my brother for over 40 years 🙂) aged between 7 months and 83 years with some OHs so a houseful and lots of cake eaten.  One of my nephews was visiting from NI so came along, it's been awhile since I've seen him so a good catch up, he's only 3 years younger than me.

Today I've done very little i was sleeping (or not sleeping) on my sisters' old sofa which wasn't that comfortable it's being replaced next week so passed its best 😣 I'm hobbling on a painful hip today, between a 5 hours round trip and the sofa 🙄 but it was worth it 🙂

Easy lunch today of bagel, cream cheese and Parma ham.  I made a chilli for dinner, it was chilli weather and had with rice for dinner a second portion was froze
