I hope you are feeling better N2BT  :)

Was the cheese search successful Farway? I may have to look in the FS for Brighton Blue as my usual source no longer has a stall at the farmers market

Expensive day for me the car needed its service, luckily nothing required as it is not very old and has low mileage. I waited the couple of hours reading my book and drinking tea 🙂 next year I may go back to paying for them to collect.

I had a physio appointment this afternoon with a private practice in town taking on NHS patients to lower the wait, so no money spent 🙂 not sure about the wisdom of a practice up two flights of narrow steep stairs! The hip did grumble at the stairs, it was well timed as I'm stiff from a couple of long car journeys.  No exercises given today just consulting and examination, I have another appointment tomorrow for those.

Quick ham and Gouda salad for lunch between appointments. Charred lemon chicken piccata for dinner with puy lentils and green veg

  • I haven't got any bread so I had crackers with Flora and Marmite for breakfast. I have the leftover stir fry for lunch and I'm going to air fry some tofu or some Quorn pieces to go with it. I will air fry some spicy chickpeas at the same time.

A bit of sun but rain later, maybe. It's clouding over gradually.

Brighton B found & bought, BUT I think it may be the fag end of an old cheese wheel, a hint of Old Socks about it, and a bit plastic plus not very tangy.
I'm gradually looking more at Morries now, maybe not much local but a fair variety
The one I was hoping for, from a Scottish Island farm, seems it was Burn's night special, they have Scottish cheese then, so try again nearer the date

I get my car collected & dropped back, but in my case it's because no buses near the garage, and certainly does not have a customer waiting around area.

    Lunch, LO mushrooms in omelette
Dinner, use up LO beef stew, LO mash and HG fresh runners

    Good morning everyone,
Hope you are feeling better N2BT.
It's dry so far so at the least the kids got into school without getting soaked. It's supposed to be wild later and for the next couple of days.
Some admin bits to tackle and my sis is coming for dinner this evening but otherwise no definite plans. LO curry for lunch, I really enjoyed the Black Pepper Chicken curry definitely on the make again list.  Halloumi pasta tonight with salad and crusty bread.

Quiet day for me other than trip to the physio again this afternoon and popping into charity shop for some books on the way back to the car 🙂

it got really dark lunch time and I thought I would get rained on in town but luckily it blew over and it turned really warm

Ham and Gouda spinach salad for lunch, Im in a salad mood at the moment with loads of beetroot.  Monday's LO pork and vegetables in a chilli and garlic sauce with rice for dinner

    Good morning everyone,
Filthy weather here today and really quite chilly with it.
In an unavoidable change of plans my sis wasn't able to come for dinner last night. We decided to postpone the halloumi pasta until next week and using ragu and bechamel from the freezer. DS2 will have the LOs for lunch and I'll have some HM soup from the freezer or a cheese toastie.  Potentially CFO tonight so will decide what to have for dinner later. There's a few HM RMs in the freezer if I CBA cooking to chose from.
  • It is quite nice and warm still here. I just went to pick up my prescriptions.

I had a very unhealthy breakfast of a crisp sandwich! Just fancied it.😆

Warm with hint of sun here, I was up watering volunteer pots earlier, then onto Morries just in case any YS bargains, none today so bits & bobs plus boil in bag kippers.

Actually there were the same kippers, use by today,  in the clearance section, but no YS attached and I CBA to try to get someone interested so bought the ones with plenty of life left. Only £1.50 anyway, so a reduction wasn't going to be world beating.

    Lunch, cheese & salad sarnie
Dinner, cheapo Essential cheese & onion flan plus salad bits

Feeling much better today, thanks for the well wishes. It felt like one of those horrendous hangovers of my youth but no alcohol was involved this time :D

No CFO yesterday just picked at a few bits, but woke up very hungry this morning and had a fried egg softie for breakfast. I then got a pot of lentil soup on to have for lunch.

Used up some bacon I'd stashed in the freezer and made a leek and bacon quiche for tea tonight which I had with some steamed asparagus & cauliflower.

    I'm glad you're feeling better N2BT

Couple of items on my to do list took me home pass the farm shop, I didn't need much but like their brunches of watercress which taste more peppery than the bags in SMs, some local strawberries fell into the basket, some pork and apple burgers and a couple of king oyster mushrooms 😋 home via the hospital for a blood test, as with the last visit someone handed me their car park ticket to use and I was able to pass it on again.

i AF one of the burgers for lunch and had with salad, no bun. I roasted a chicken leg in the AF for dinner and had with wedges, HM coleslaw and a corn on the cob.

Just been to the bin and it's now raining, hoping will be just overnight
