Rain did stop & this morning is sunshine, so I can now get the runner beans picked for dinner :)

Finalised my Asda order, the frozen pizza I buy has vanished :( , maybe it was only me buying it, or more likely it will re-appear “Improved” and price increased. I'll do without in the meantime.

Lunch, grilled cheese & pickle on toast
Dinner, braising steak out defrosting, I'll cook in low oven & have with own fresh runners + maybe mash or boiled spuds + carrots

    Good afternoon everyone,
Well the forecast was accurate and it's absolutely foul here. Stove will definitely be getting lit later!
We had a lovely evening at my sister's and we were joined by DS1's best mate who was up on a flying visit from London with work. We all know him really well and as always there was more than enough food for an extra mouth.
This morning DS2 gave the main living areas a thorough hoover and mop while I wiped down the woodwork etc. The place is looking much better for it.
I had scrambled egg with peppers, tomatoes and spring onions for lunch. Steak dinner this evening.

It was rainy yesterday, but brightened up in the evening and today is lovely bright sunshine. I slept in as I had a late night last night. I ordered a takeaway lunch from my fav local vegan restaurant as today is their last day open. I'm sad about that.

I think I couldn't sleep last night as I drank a lot of green tea yesterday so I will avoid it today.

I had indigestion again yesterday. I did have chilli sauce with my lunch so I assume that was the reason as I had chilli sauce with my stir fry when it happened the other day. Very annoying as I like spicy food. I have some chilli peppers in the fridge so I will chop them up and freeze them until I have it under control.

I am having a smoothie and some pistachio nuts for breakfast. I might have jacket potatoes for lunch with salad and beans. I'm going to stick to non-spicy food for a while.

Bright & sunny after a damp start, at least the Bank Holiday finishes fine here.

Had porridge for breakfast, a bit dull as mentioned & I was getting fed up with cereal
Lunch, crumpets, with my just made fresh blackberry jam. I was going to add it to my porridge but changed my mind.
Dinner, Boil in bag kippers, with LO mash and if I CBA some of my fresh runners, if I CBA it'll be frozen peas

    Good morning everyone,
The rain didn't stop for more than a few minutes yesterday, thankfully it's dry if still very gloomy today.
It's not a Bank Holiday up here but DS2 is off as his base is Newcastle.
I need to do a bit of greenhouse taming but apart from that not much planned.
LOs for lunch and Korma-style chicken curry with rice and naan for dinner.

Surprise visit from my cousin yesterday meant no cooking for me, ended up having a chip shop supper instead  ;)

Chicken caesar salad for lunch today and tonight I'll do a mushroom and asparagus pasta

  • Had a lovely catch up, domestic sort of day. Kitchen and bathroom are both back to acceptable levels of hygiene 😅 and bed has been changed along with bedroom dusted and hoovered. I’ve done a small grocery shop plus collected one online order, couldn’t get the other as Boots was closed today 🤔

End of the free Lidl artisan baguette with end of the coleslaw, cheese and salad for lunch. Smoked basa and pea risotto tonight.

Dry day but cloudy so my washing was still a little damp in places when i brought it in, nothing hanging up overnight won't sort.

Pottering day for me, I was out yesterday so playing catch up.

lunch was sardines on toast.  Steak, salad and wedges for dinner
