  • Missed the beach earlier, Brambling - looks lovely 😊

Mixed weather day here although still mostly warm. A few longish meetings today so don’t feel like I’ve done much actual work, tomorrow has more but shorter meetings 😬

Mezze for lunch - dolmades, gigantes plaki, olives, feta, houmous, cucumber, tomatoes and pitta. Prawn and mushroom egg fried rice tonight.
  • Too hot today! I had a banana and water this morning and then went for a walk with a lady from this forum and we had brunch at a local restaurant. I bought some snacks from a health food shop so I have been eating those since I got home!😁 Not particularly healthy either as it was mostly choc and crisps.

It feels so nice now it has cooled down.

Volunteering day today, it's been a long time since I did a job standing on my feet all day  :# it wasn't the best start to the day there was a accident on the way there, 3 ambulances went pass before we were turned around and I had to fish my phone out for the best alternative route it meant I was 20 minutes late which I hate.

No bread in the house so I took some cheese, crackers  and HG tomatoes for lunch.  I needed to go out tonight so a easy dinner of beans on toast

Sunny & bright morning, supposed to be like this for the weekend as well

With the forecast, I decided it was salad time. So I've got a chicken in roasting in the oven, which should see me over most of the weekend one way or another.
I'll make some Paxo packet stuffing later

I've made a coleslaw, now in 'fridge maturing flavour

    Lunch, could be chicken sarnie
Dinner. Chicken, new spuds & salad bits

  • I woke up with a neck pain and I looked on YT to fix it, it feels much better now I worked out the knot.

I have had some crackers with a veggie pate I bought yesterday. I am going to have jacket potatoes later as it feels slightly cooler so it will be okay to have the oven on.

    Good morning everyone,
Dry but on the cool side here this morning.
I've various admin bits to tackle and must finalise tomorrow's Tesco order.
HM chicken & rice soup for lunch. Tonight I'm making this but using chicken breasts instead of cod Garlic & herb cod ‘kiev’ traybake | Good Food (bbcgoodfood.com)
  • Lovely sunny day with a moderate breeze, as the nights are drawing in and autumn just around the corner thought its a great day to wash and freshen up the throws I use during the winter months.

I have just enough leftover chicken fried rice to have for lunch and to use up a couple of eggs thought I would try this recipe Florentine Baked Eggs With Garlic Bread Recipe | Waitrose & Partners nice change from scrambled eggs on toast  :)

Sunny with a breeze, very pleasant again.

Asda did refund me for the dented tin of mackerel, money. paid more or less the moment I submitted the request, mind it was only £1 so not worth a big investigation.

Been out watering already, my tomatoes are doing well now, and I'll be picking more beans this afternoon.

Lunch, LO roast chicken & stuffing sarnie
Dinner, more LO cold roast chicken + salad

  • I had the last of the pate on seeded toast for breakfast. It looks like a nice day again. I read a really good book yesterday and I'm starting another book today.

    Good morning everyone,
The egg recipe looks tasty N2BT.
The chicken dish we had last night worked really well, definitely on the make again list. We had it with a simple chopped salad.
Dry here so far though overcast, I'm hoping the rain stays away as I've a load of bedding I'd like to line dry.
Tesco due later, just one acceptable sub. Cod loin for dinner, I'll decide what to have with it. Probably soup or "something" on toast for lunch.
