A lovely warm day here too, caught up on a few chores, checking freezer stock and food prep for the next few days (cooking some chickpeas and roasting peppers)

For lunch I used up the last of the sweet potato and red pepper soup in the freezer.

I don't buy many RM's but thought I would give this a try for a handy veggie option Sainsbury's Cauliflower Cheese Grills x4 397g | Sainsbury's (sainsburys.co.uk) I had one tonight and really enjoyed it along with leftover boulangere potatoes, and some roasted peppers.

  • Very warm here but there was a breeze as well. Managed a bit of tidying in the garden before I got too hot.

Avocado and scrambled eggs on toast for lunch. Tuna steak with salad, new potatoes and a lemon vinaigrette tonight.

It is meant to be 32 here later. It is 24 now. There were a few drops of rain when I let my dog out earlier, though.

I haven't used my mini trampoline in quite a while so I will go and bounce for as long as I can in this heat before my shower.

I am either going to have scrambled tofu or baked beans on toast for breakfast along with a bowl of strawberries.

    Good afternoon everyone,
Not a scorcher here but sunny now after some torrential rain and thunder & lightening overnight. Forecast looks decent for the rest of the day.
We had a lovely bbq, the weather was perfect, the food gorgeous and the wine went down well. The company was half bad either lol! As always the kitchen was carnage afterwards but a dishwasher load last night and another on this morning has pretty much dealt with it. Just the bbq grills and fish cages to tackle this afternoon.
Not to much by way of LOs, the salad bits we'll use for lunch and in a swift change to the meal plan we'll use the remaining cooked chook in fajitas tonight.
  • We have the thunder, lightning and torrential rain now; its supposed to clear around 2pm. Big rollers racing to shore too - I love watching the sea when its like this.

Lunch is a hummus and roast pepper wrap.

Broccoli & stilton quiche from the freezer for tea tonight and as a side dish I'll use up the last of the celeriac baked with butter, lemon & thyme  Nigel Slater’s celeriac recipes | Food | The Guardian

  • Very hot here but the office was bearable and the house had stayed cool with all of the curtains and blinds shut while I was out.

Tuna, hard boiled egg and new potatoes with salad in a lunchbox today. More salad tonight with prawn, chorizo and sourdough skewers.
  • Far too hot for me yesterday! Even my north facing garden was too warm. It looks like a nice day although it might get up to 27.

I had a toasted muffin with Flora and a milkshake for breakfast.

I might make either houmous or chickpea salad for lunch as I got 4 tins of chickpeas in the shopping.
