Roast chicken thighs, boulangere potatoes and tender stem broccoli for tea tonight - I've been saving the last two potatoes for this dish, it's cooking as I write this and the smell is absolutely lovely  :)

I haven't made Boulangere potatoes for a while 😋 one for the list for later on, I do like it with sliced celeriac in between the layers of potatoes and onions

pottering day for me, some chores and some olympics mixed in with finishing my book. I'm finding the sport a lot less depressing / horrifying as the news currently

Snap on the ham and coleslaw JKS except mine was in a wrap with the last of my raw spinach.  I likely floured a couple of sea bass fillets in seasoned flour and panned fried for dinner with chipped LO new potatoes, French and broad beans with a parsley and caper 'salsa'

Dull start but cooler, at least the blackberries got picked yesterday, I'll stew them later today

If it gets warmer I may potter a bit, tie in the blackberry for next year, a bit of dead heading etc

Lunch, cheese & salad sarnie, again.
Dinner, I have LO cooked chicken quarters, and some mushrooms, somewhere they go together in a meal, just can't pin one, that does not involve adding wine, down right now, don't fancy casserole / stew / pie type option
I'll think of something no doubt

I am about to make a smoothie and I have two leftover LM sausage rolls in the fridge. I'm still trying to use up freezer food so it will be something from there for lunch along with a salad/fresh veg.

It is a nice sunny day here.

Warm and sticky here too, rain coming later hopefully to freshen things up a bit.

Lunch was leftover chicken in a sandwich

Tonight I'll have a prawn and vegetable stir fry.

    Good afternoon.
Manky day here but not to chilly. Thankfully managed to get to physio and back between the torrential showers.
I'm not quite sure where today has disappeared to, though I seem to have a longer than usual afternoon snooze which might explain it.
Lunch was LO veg with Bisto gravy and crackers. I was hungry when I got back, wanted something hot but CBA making anything more exciting with the veg. That said it was tasty enough and filled the space LOL. Chicken thigh fillets tonight in a creamy bacon, mushroom, spinach and Parmesan sauce. We'll have it with rice, baby corn and green beans.
  • Back to work today after a couple of days off at the end of last week, and it was busy!

Hard boiled egg, avocado and cold new potatoes with salad and French dressing for lunch. Prawn, chorizo and sourdough skewers on the bbq tonight, with a big mixed salad 😋

Been for a walk this evening and it felt decidedly muggy, we’re forecast showers in the early hours so will see if they cool it down. I’ve watered tonight anyway as I missed yesterday.

Weather reached about 23c today which suits me a lot better and meant I got a couple of loads of washing dried today

Ham, cheese a tomato wrap for lunch, the first of my bigger tomatoes although it looks like my only one as well 🙄 Chinese style pork belly slices with rice and stir fry veg

It feels cooler today, but it is still sunny with a blue sky. I am going out to a reflexology session and then to lunch so I am only going to have a smoothie. I made it last night to put in the fridge so it will be nice and cold.

Damp & drizzle but not really rain, nothing good for the garden, so I'm still watering

The weather makes food choices awkward, salad or cooked hot meal? No problem with either, but a hot kitchen is not my ideal choice.

Lunch, another cheese & salad sarnie
Diner, I still have LO cooked chicken quarter, so either with salad or bung in curry

    Good morning everyone,
Dry just now but more heavy rain due this afternoon.
I'm sore after physio and my balance is playing up (think it's the weather change) so apart from my sis coming for dinner this evening I'm for a quiet day.
Last night's chicken dish was lovely though I'd of liked it a bit "wetter", I'd use more stock and less spinach next time. LOs for lunch. Sausage, peppers and bean dish tonight from the "Greekish" book, we'll have it with Ayrshire tatties and salad.
