The bus was a nightmare yesterday on the way to the hairdressers, I was sweating so much.

I was really hungry when I got home as all I had was a PB sandwich in the morning so I had a ready made pizza that I jazzed up with a red pepper and a red chilli. I also had a salad with cucumber, tomatoes and fresh basil and balsamic glaze. After that I had a lemon dessert and crisps and wine watching TV!

It is much cooler today as it must have rained at some point. So much nicer.

Cooler with less sun, a few spits of rain which meant I had to wear a waterproof when I went out earlier, of course that soon stopped the rain

Wednesday, another one wishing you cat well

Lunch, cheese salad sarnie for convenience
Dinner, I have chicken quarters from Asda delivery, roast them, eat one with new spuds & salad.
    With LO for another day

    Good morning everyone,
Weather is supposed to be a rinse and repeat of yesterday - dry am, tipping it down pm. No heat wave here just 16C so far.
DS2 and Hector are out this afternoon, I really should take the chance and have a thorough hoover through but I'm not sure I can summon the required oomph!
Yesterday I made a couple of baked arancini with the last of the risotto. Not enough to be the main event but lovely as a side with chicken thighs and roast veg traybake.
Tonight it Jamie Oliver's Jerk chicken and pineapple sandwiches. I'll make some coleslaw to have with them.

Forgot to post yesterday, I got engrossed in the Olympic show jumping, another gold (round of applause).

I've been freezer diving the past couple of days - yesterday was soup for lunch then mince & tatties for tea.

Today, lunch was a sausage sandwich, local butcher's pork and apple are delish. More from the freezer tonight, the last portions of Chickpea curry and Dhal.

I certainly did, and feeling much better for it today, hope you were the same on your side of the border
Bit dull but warm enough, just right for me TBH

Job for today is picking my blackberries, enough to be worthwhile now, instead of just grazing as I go. I may freeze or stew them, decide later once done.

    Lunch, another salad sarnie
Dinner, cold LO roast chicken quarter leg, with “baby” spuds & salad

It feels lovely and cool today after the horrible heat. My feet are even a bit cold!

I am trying not to order takeaways as much now we are on a fixed income so I tried to recreate the salt and pepper chilli tofu I get from the Chinese for dinner last night. It was quite nice, but it didn't have as much flavour at all. It was too sweet from the hoisin sauce I used. I need to improve on that.

I am going to have some strawberries and a toasted bagel for breakfast. Maybe green tea as well now that it is cooler.

    Good morning everyone,
Dull, damp and cool here today.
Picked the first ripe tomatoes yesterday, just 4 cherry ones but it's a start. The cucumbers are finally slowing down a bit, not sure if I'll get many more but they've done well this year.
Cheese and LO HM coleslaw wrap for lunch. Pork steak tonight topped with bbq sauce, fried garlic and rosemary. We'll have them with various veg and Ayrshire tatties.

Good Afternoon, not too sunny here today but its still pleasantly warm which suits me fine but those on holibobs probably aren't too happy.

Was a bit peckish early on so had a brunch of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on granary toast, haven't had that for ages and really enjoyed it.

Roast chicken thighs, boulangere potatoes and tender stem broccoli for tea tonight - I've been saving the last two potatoes for this dish, it's cooking as I write this and the smell is absolutely lovely  :)

  • Quiet day here after visitors went home yesterday. Did a bit of laundry, meal planned and food shopped but mostly pottered and watched lots of olympics coverage.

Ham and coleslaw bagel for lunch with some cherry tomatoes. Tuna steak, salad and new potatoes tonight. Have prepped lunch and fruit for tomorrow’s office day and fruit for breakfast 😇
