  • Another lovely sunny day, hot again but there was a nice breeze and the office was surprisingly pleasant.

Cheese, hard boiled egg, new potato and coleslaw salad for lunch. Made red pepper, tomato and mozzarella gnocchi tonight, with green beans. Bit warm for a hot meal but I was a bit bored of salad and had nothing else to bbq. Mind you, someone on the radio earlier said they were having stew and dumplings 🥵

More sunshine & hot, the thunderstorms never arrived, maybe today?
I'm happy it is like this though, with DS + family on hols down Cornwall, at least they are not having to find things to do in the rain

Bit stuck for meals, too much choice, decided to go by Use By dates

I don't think it rained here last night, I didn't hear it if it did.

I just walked to Coop to buy some bread and fruit and get some cash out as I'm getting my hair done tomorrow and you can't pay by card there. I had some bread and Flora when I got in and I'm about to have some grapes and an iced coffee.

    Good afternoon everyone,
Woke to rain this morning but it's clearing now and supposed to be sunny this afternoon. I'm hoping so as I've stripped my bed and hope to get the bedding dried outside.
Last night I made a stew/ragu to use up a small amount of leftover roast lamb and lurking veg. I had it with Ayrshire tatties and broccoli. LOs for lunch.
Trying another recipe from "Greekish" tonight - spinach and leek risotto.

Its warm but cloudy here today which suits me better for walking about. I've been to the bank, greengrocer, butcher, baker, bypassed the candle maker this time :D  then home

Not being a swimmer I'm getting bored with the tv coverage of the Olympics I've ended up watching stuff on my laptop instead, no doubt that will be where I'll be watching the mens doubles later today with my heart in my mouth again  :#

Egg mayo sandwich for lunch and I'll use up the rocket pesto with some pasta, feta, cherry toms and half a garlic baguette tonight.

The threatened storm arrived here just before 7pm when it got very dark and after a few initial rumbles we had one heck of a bang, scared the bejesus out of his lordship.  After the storm we had the heavy rain, hopefully it will break the heat but it is still sticky upstairs.  My elderly friend called to say it had 'taken out' her TV etc and flittered her lights as well as her neighbours so I'm wondering if her block of flats was hit somewhere. She kindly gave me permission to wait until tomorrow to go and look at TV, not sure what she expects me to be able to do 🤔 I did make her check her 'lifeline' and her neighbour has checked on her

my sister and i brunched in the Swedish cafe in town, they do a delicious scrambled egg on sourdough and we shared a Swedish cinnamon bun 😋 she needed a birthday gift before walking back to hers where we put the worlds to right with a cuppa - or maybe that should be agreed to disagree! I sat in my cool curtains shut lounge when I got home and moved some finance around

No need for lunch 🙂 salmon, rice and vegetables for dinner with the last of my berries for pud

No storm this side of the border Brambling, could do with a good drenching, I was out watering first thing this morning.
Forecast is a very precise, says strong gusty winds starting at 6PM :o
Hope friends TV etc was just a blip, we must have had a power outage, although I never noticed, my landline phone has lost its date & time settings, another job for when I CBA.

Hot day ahead, sticky at night and not sleeping well at all
Food today is repeat from yesterday
Lunch, cheese & sliced onion sarnie
Dinner, pasty, frozen chips + salad bits

I'm a bit worried about my cat as she just had another fit and that is the third one in a month. The vet said to bring her back in if she has 4 in a month. I booked an appointment for next week just in case. She is 15 years old in a few months, my other cat will be 19!

It rained a bit here last night. It is meant to get up to 27 today (it says temps feel like 31) so I will definitely be getting the bus to my hair appointment and back instead of walking. I am having some sparkling water with fresh lime and a peanut butter sandwich for brunch. I will probably make a smoothie before I leave too.

    Good afternoon everyone,
Poor puss Wednesday, I hope she's okay.
Bye bye sunshine, rain is due mid afternoon and the clouds are gathering. DS2 has taken Hector for his "long" walk now rather than this evening to hopefully avoid getting soaked.
Bits and bobs of housework done and apart from Tesco coming later I've nothing else planned so will enjoy my book for a bit after lunch.
LO risotto for lunch. Just as well it was very tasty as even the half recipe made lots. Dinner is usual Friday tbc.

I hope the cat is ok Wednesday, they do cause us worry when they get older

It may have rained last night but the temperature was still 27c today.

I went to look at the my friends' TV / hard disk box late morning and after much fiddling decided it must be the aerial as I could eventually get the TV to try and auto tune and it was coming up as no aerial. It seems her electricity went out last night but her neighbour fixed that, he had to replace his TV and his WiFi isn't working but his aerial is ok, her friends in the next block needed a electrician to get theirs back on and their sky box and WiFi are not working.  I found her a man to come out tomorrow's, he had 9.94 feedback on checkatrade so hopefully a good one, he won't charge for the call out if it isn't the aerial or if she doesn't like any quote he makes to resolve it, he seemed nice enough and I'm happy I made the call so he knows she has someone about, he will call me if he thinks she doesn't understand the issue.  I set her up with bbc iPlayer, itvx and C4 on her iPad

I turned down fish and chips for lunch,  too hot especially at the garden centre restaurant which is where she wanted to go, but after I chauffeured her around it was nearly 3pm when I got home and made a beef and horseradish sandwich for lunch.  Late lunch meant I didn't want to cook dinner so just some cheese, crackers and tomatoes
