    Good afternoon everyone,
The sun is shining and forecast looks okay for the next few days. DS2 has a week's leave so is hoping to paint fences etc. This morning he's taken Hector & Frank to meet up with his Dad and have a decent walk. DS1 and DIL2B fly back tonight, hard to believe that we've had Frank for nearly three weeks, he'll be overjoyed to see them but seems to have enjoyed his time here.
BLT for lunch. Trying a new recipe tonight Halloumi Fried Chicken which we'll have with salad and HM oven chips.
  • Another lazy Saturday here. Out to an appointment mid morning and did grocery shopping on the way back. I’ve done some tidying, a load of washing and had a nap 😊

LO red pepper and spinach tart for lunch. Quick and easy chicken, green bean, spring onion and pesto pasta tonight.

Sunshine the the second day running  B) and forecast for the next few days 🌞

Pottering day for me other than trip to pet shop, I was out of his treats and he expects them when he comes in at night and sits and stares at me if I don't have any 😿 I also stocked up on food I noticed the big boxes he has have gone from 48 sachets to 40 😡 and although they are cheaper not by that much

Bacon and brown sauce sandwich for lunch.  I marinated a pork belly slice and cubed before AF, served with stir fried veg and rice and chilli sauce

Another restless night, too hot I think, anyway up & about by six and watering the pots at the front by eight.

Sunny &, like brambling, supposed to be same, hot & sunny, for next few days. Hope so, I have my first tomato ripened and a few more would do nicely.

Because I was up early, it was cooked breakfast, frozen bangers in AF + fried eggs.
I bunged a couple of extra sausages in AF for cold & unexciting lunch

Dinner, salad with frozen chips. I thought I had some cooked chicken in the freezer but seems I am mistaken :( . Maybe open a tin of salmon or corned beef?

I have been so tired since the reflexology that I was in bed by half seven last night! I tried to watch The Godfather 2 but I couldn't concetrate.

I am heating up some baked rolls in the AF and having it with the last avocado and a sliced tomato. I was thinking I had my cholesterol blood test tomorrow, but I checked the calendar and it is Tuesday.

I had a restless night too but the bonus of that was a beautiful sunrise at 5.00 this morning. Bed stripped and on the line early, there is a nice soft breeze to keep it moving.

Its that part of the week where its decisions, decisions - there's veg that needs using up but do I really fancy it, will it last another couple of days, will I freeze it  :s  ???

A pitta needs to be used so I'll have it with salad and prawns for lunch.

Found roast beef slices in the freezer so I'll have them with some gravy, mashed pots, last of the cauliflower and some peas.

    Good morning everyone,
The sun is shining again today.  :)
DS2 made a good start to the fence painting despite two "assistants"!
Frank goes home today, he's been so much easier this time though he's still very energetic.
The Halloumi Fried Chicken last night was delicious, definitely on the "make again" list. LOs for lunch.
Lamb tonight - sort of this recipe but I've defrosted a small 1/2 shoulder of lamb to roast instead of the lamb steaks. Nigel Slater’s recipe for grilled lamb, roast pepper, hummus | Lamb | The Guardian We'll have the lamb and hummus with salad and sweet potato wedges.

The avocado was rock hard so I had vegan cheese in the rolls with tomatoes. Those rolls are nice, Hovis ones, as they brought a replacement for the Paul Hollywood rolls in the shopping.

It is very warm today. I was going to make a lemon, garlic and artichoke spaghetti later. I might add peas too. I feel very full up at the moment.

I picked a bowl of small tomatoes this morning, I have been picking and eating individual ones when watering for a week or so.

I went out to an elderly friend for a light lunch and spent a few hours helping her with stuff, paperwork etc and as she heads towards her 87 birthday in six weeks we discussed her funeral arrangements again and confirmed she now doesn't want one. I've had more cheerful lunches 😁  she wanted me to try a bottle of alcohol free frizz, we both agreed not something we would try again TBH if I'm not drinking I'm happy with a lime and soda or just tonic with ice and a slice rather than AF wine / beer

Prawn curry and rice for dinner, I had LO curry sauce in the freezer. I must hunt out the recipe for the curry sauce as it is one to make again

  • Been an absolutely lovely summer’s day here today - 3 loads of washing dried 🙃

I’ve also changed the bed, dusted, hoovered and de-cobwebbed the bedroom plus the H/S/L, hoovered downstairs, cleaned the bathroom floor and cleared the ironing pile in between keeping an eye on the Brits in Paris.

Smashed avocado and scrambled eggs on toasted bagel for lunch. BBQ’d burger with new potatoes, salad and coleslaw tonight. Salad and fruit packed ready for tomorrow’s office day 😇
