@Need2bthrifty seagulls with chicks are a menace
My brother had one take a chunk out of his head because he walked past a garden with an injured chick in it
I met one today on the pavement trying to get to the bottom of a crisp packet, there was a huge snail 2 inches away but Monster Munch seemed more to it's liking
I am over 4 miles from the coast
My neighbour feeds them and they crap all over my greenhouse
On topic - roasted med veg with olives, chickpeas and halloumi

There were seagulls swooping down at the concert on Friday. They seemed very interested in the food people were eating!

I got woken up by the sound of birds at 4 in the Airbnb this morning. The owner told me it was a nest of magpies in a nearby tree when I told him.

I just had a sandwich, some cashew nuts and a cookie for dinner. I am so tired after the weekend. My cats and dog are back tomorrow morning. I probably will have an early night

  • Did a proper clean of the kitchen and utility room including washing the floors this morning, as well as a quick wipe round the bathroom and a load of towels washed and line dried. Popped out to run some errands this afternoon. I’ve also done some food prep ready for the week.

Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toast for lunch. Roasted a chicken tonight with sourdough croutons and prosciutto, made into a salad with a yummy roast garlic and lemon dressing 😋

N2BT nesting sea gulls and eggs for lunch, it took a while for my brain not to think of you eating SG eggs 😁 I will say they are heavy birds having had one land on my head to launch off again and steal my sister's expensive ice cream whilst sitting on the sea wall in Looe 😣

I also got my washing washed and dry today if it is still nice tomorrow my winter dressing grown and some heavy woolies may get washed and finally put away.

Hummus and grated carrot wrap for lunch with the first 4 cherry tomatoes from the greenhouse.  Pork and apple burger with corn on the cob and AF chips for dinner

I woke up today and felt so glad that I didn't have to get up for anything or have any appointments. I needed to buy a few random things like new clothes pegs and notebooks, but I ordered same day from Amazon just so I don't need to go out today.

I am going to make a salad with what I have left in the fridge, grated carrots and onion like a coleslaw, but with vinegar and olive oil and add bits like mashed avocado and tomatoes and have it on the end of a couple of slices of toast. I might have a coffee too to try and wake me up.

It looks dull out there, but it still feels quite humid.

Dull & sort of dampness in the air, not cold, just looks like it's September not July.

Main task this week is Car Tax, luckily it's an older, smaller car, so £35, helps offset the price of my garden waste bin, which still rankles :(
Plus arrange for MOT, which is always a heart stopping time of year, not expecting problems, but it's the bits you can't see that catch one out.

    Lunch, grilled cheese on toast
Dinner, if weather keeps dull I think freezer fish & chips
Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens

    Good morning everyone,
Dry at moment but like yesterday due to rain this afternoon.
The Open seems to have been a success and this year there was a live music festival running in the evenings (a mix of free and paid for) that has been well supported by visitors and locals. A good way to get folk into the town centre after the golf had finished and used local businesses to support catering, bar, stewarding etc. As always there's local folk mumping on FB about road closures, parking restrictions but there's always someone who's never happy!
Made 3 jars of "bread and butter" pickles with 1kg of the cucumbers yesterday. They're maturing in the cupboard and I'm looking forward to trying them in a week or so.
Like you Wednesday, fridge gravel bits for lunch. Tesco are coming later, thankfully, as fresh stuff is running very low. JO's sausage pasta for dinner tonight.

:D Not allowed to do that anymore Brambling.

Its mostly herring gulls and local social media is pretty good at highlighting danger spots where they are dive bombing passer-by's. Unfortunately my favourite the Kittiwake was badly hit by bird flu, last year council guys were regularly out on the beach clearing up and haven't seem very many of them this year.

Leftovers from last night for lunch and tonight I'm having Piedmont peppers, quinoa & chickpea salad, while the oven is on I will do a batch of cheese scones - they'll be handy for lunches.

  • Pleasantly warm here today. Was in the office but got out on my bike for a bit when I got home.

LO roast chicken salad in my lunchbox today, also took a pot with the last of the melon for afternoon snack. Made cherry tomato, prawn and chimichurri spaghetti tonight, served with a side salad and some of the LO dressing. I’ve stripped the remaining meat off the chicken - one portion ready for tomorrow’s tea, and frozen another 3 portions 😎

it's been a drizzling day here on and off, typical school holidays weather 🙄

I planned to get some fresh bits in Lidl late morning but the delivery lorry was causing chaos in the car park, from queuing at the roundabout I could see cars trying to get into the carpark and blocking the road 🙄 it's a very small car park so I went to Sainsbury instead as I could top up on the petrol as well.  I left some none urgent items on the list as I want to use their car park on Thursday as the Doc surgery is next door and I can park for two hours for nothing if I spend £10.  Some nice YS seeing it was only lunchtime including a half price taste the diff quiche, portioned up and froze, 20p loaf of bread instead of £2, half price pizza and duck spring rolls 🙂

Not so healthy meals today due to YS offers 😣 spring rolls for a late lunch and pizza with salad for dinner.  At least the salad added green to a beige day and I added some extra veg to the pizza
