  • Really miserable weather here yesterday evening and most of today. Did finally stop raining late afternoon and apparently the next couple of days are going to be ok 🤔

Very busy wfh day but productive and really enjoyed it, maybe the week off did work!

Ricotta and pesto tortellini with tuna, sweetcorn and sun dried tomatoes for lunch. Knocked up a chorizo and chickpea stew tonight, served with toasted pitta.

I’ve also prepped fruit for a few days breakfasts and snacks, and done tomorrow’s packed lunch.

Fish finger sandwich for lunch.  The last of the LO orzo risotto and chicken for dinner

I'm still feeling a bi blocked up and have a cough after the weekend out. I'm having a frozen mango and frozen banana smoothie and I'm going to make soup later.

    Good morning everyone,
Greekish book seems fab N2BT, I've lots of recipes earmarked to try already.  :)
Broadband change went smoothly just need to run the gauntlet of cancelling Virgin Media today!
What I thought was hay fever is a lurgy, LFT negative this morning but as one of the woman I had lunch with on Friday has now got COVID I'll retest tomorrow. That said I only feel minorly unwell so it may well just be a snuffily bug.
LO pasta for lunch. Tofu in black bean sauce with rice for dinner.

Supposed to be warming up to summer over the next few days, can only hope so, especially as DS + family are off to Newquay, Cornwall, area this weekend for holiday

I'm not thinking of changing just yet, but new cabling going up on the poles for a new broadband supplier, Toob, no doubt offers will soon be in my letter box

Asda delivery arrived without hassle, with fresh salad at last, just in time with a scorcher forecast.

Trouble with my garden waste wheelie bin, seems my permit expired end of June, but I never had a reminder, so it's lapsed and unable to renew due to no more spaces
I've started complaint procedure so will have to see how it goes
Mind you it's now £120 a year, which I begrudge but due to health etc I've no option except to cough up, trips to tip are not physically possible

    Meals,
    Lunch, HM burger
Dinner, I've bought half salmon side on offer, so portion it up & one for tonight, with salad and freeze some as well

My trip to the City was cancelled (friend ill) so I wont get to the bookshop till next week which is probably better as it will be after my payday and what with last weeks holiday spends I've definitely gone over budget already  :*

That is quite a hefty charge Farway, at my previous address we payed £30 per year for a fortnightly "Brown bin" collection but I noticed this year there is no charge unless you require more than one bin. My current LA doesn't do kerbside collections at all you either have to compost it or take it to a Seasonal collection point or Waste depot site, those without a car are often on social media asking if anyone can help them with a "tip run"

Lunch was avocado and a poached egg on toast and tonight I'm having a huge salad with cottage cheese, fresh pineapple, drizzle of sweet chilli sauce and maybe a crusty roll to mop it all up.

    Jan - Mar Grocery spends = £225.20
    Apr NSD's = 21/30  Grocery spends = £95.34
  • Well, summer seems to be here for a few days 🤔

Another busy but productive day, and we’re over the hump 🙃

More Greek mezze and pitta bread for lunch. Just had prawn, red pepper and sugar snap pea egg fried rice - got the ginger and chilli right so it was lush. Will have some melon in a bit.

My garden bin  is just under £60 a year and I've never heard them say their is a restriction on spaces

i had to go for a blood test at the local hospital today, rocky start as I was nearly there when I remembered I didn't have my form 🙄 however it did get better, plenty of spaces in their car park and a man gave me his ticket with plenty of time left and most surprisingly there was no one waiting 😮 which never happens, usually anything from 30- 90 mins wait and she got blood first attempt, I was able to pass the car park ticket on to someone else.

Ham and cheese salad for lunch.  I popped out before dinner and was delayed so it was cheese on toast at 9pm

Dull but warm, due a “heatwave”, which by this year's standards means at least frost free :)

    Good morning everyone,
That's a hefty charge Farway, they've just introduced a £50 fee here. I've not opted in as I've no grass and DS2 will take to the dump when needed. A local recycling/waste company will empty any type of wheelie bin for £10 a go so will use them if we have a bin full. Might be worth seeing if there's anything similar in your area.
My lurgy lingers but I feel a little less meh today so still lacking any real oomph. Another quiet day on the cards I think.
First competition day of "The Open" and of course it's raining......
LO tofu with salad in a wrap for lunch. JO's salmon in a bag with tenderstem and sweet potatoes tonight.
