    Good morning everyone,
Maybe one grumpy cat for 3 pooches Brambling as we have Ari today too?
We have both sunshine and warmth! Great start to the Open week, though it's not supposed to last.
I didn't sleep very well and I'm all snuffily, I'm hoping it's just hay fever and not a lurgy developing as I feel okay in myself now I'm up and showered.
After a bit of "will I, won't I" I succumbed to a new cookbook - "Greekish" by Georgina Hayden. I've tried a few of her online recipes and enjoyed them but I'm hoping it's not too similar to the recent Meliz Berg book I bought.
LOs for lunch. Tonight it's JO's Golden Crispy Chicken with avocado sauce
Jamie Oliver’s Crispy Golden Chicken Is Perfect for a Weeknight Dinner – Tamron Hall Show which I've not made for yonks. We'll have it with new potatoes, mini roasted peppers and broccoli.

The viewing only took 10 minutes so I'm not expecting great feedback as it was so quick! It is quite muggy outside today and it feels like it is going to rain.

I had a Green Cuisine burger in a bun when I got in that I did in the AF along with some fried onions. A side salad too and then a kiwi fruit.

Caught up on a few chores this morning and using up some sad veg I made a carrot and sweet potato soup for lunch. Not much cooking required tonight either as I'll "ping" the rest of the pork stroganoff, some peas and AF some chips - creating a wee bit more space for tomorrow's delivery.

I've tried a couple of Georgina Hayden recipes too Caronc, found them on the BBC website but not quite tempted to buy her books yet  :)

Fingers crossed things go smoothly for you Wednesday, although that was quite a short viewing remember there are people who view just to be nosey or because they have nothing better to do.

  • Phew, first day back at work done - was full on but mostly enjoyed it 🙃

More yummy Greek mezze for lunch. Just had quick and easy tuna, broccoli and pesto pasta plus tidied up the end of a bottle of wine 😉

Considering how much fur my 4.5kg cat who has short hair can produce I think for now I'll decide against the swap 😁 even if he's being a little s!!t at the moment 😾

When I was house hunting which was 19 years ago I found the benefit of the home owner being out was if you didn't like it you could leave quickly without upsetting anyone. I remember walking into one house and asking the EA where the rest of it was so we didn't bother going upstairs 😮 however I did have one EA who took me on a whistle stop tour of about 8 houses in my lunch break the idea being if I liked any I could go back for a longer viewing, all but one the owners were at work.  I didn't buy any of them 🤷 but it was really effective to weed a stack out

Blah day weather wise and it started really heavy rain about 6pm with some rumbling of thunder ☔️ ⚡️too wet to go up the garden to water the greenhouse and shut the door

I opened the fridge before lunch and an egg box with 4 eggs took a dive 😣 2 were smashed and two just cracked so scrambled egg on toast for lunch after I cleaned the floor again.  Chicken thigh which I cooked yesterday for dinner with LO orzo risotto

Yesterday's rain has only just stopped, very dark & damp at the moment, hardly July at all.

Sounds like you do need a dog to help clean the kitchen floor ;)

My opened yoghurt had taken on a pinky tinge in the fridge :o , quick change of breakfast plans. Luckily it's Asda delivery tomorrow and I can start over.

Lunch, assuming bread hasn't turned green it's some sarnie, cheese & cuc maybe
Dinner, use up time. I have LO boiled spuds, so I'll try to use them somehow.

I had a sandwich when I got up and I'm just cooking some veggie sausage rolls in the air fryer.

I took some strawberries out of the freezer to defrost to have with some vanilla ice cream later. I might chop up a kiwi fruit too.

    Good morning everyone,
Sensible Brambling as both Frank and Ari are super casters though Frank would have any spills cleared in moments!
Hopefully the next viewer will be "the one" Wednesday.
The book arrives today N2BT, I've a load of her recipes bookmarked from the Guardian and BBC and it's "book of the month" for Jamie Oliver's cookbook club so lots of delicious looking food photos being posted. Not that I need anymore cookbooks but I don't generally spend much on myself or socially so a wee treat now in then is nice.  :)
Changing broadband provider today after getting cheesed off with Virgin Media, hopefully all will go smoothly. I'm doing away with my TV package as we don't watch much live TV and have a working aerial.
LOs for lunch and spag bol using ragu from the freezer for dinner.

Yes, I said to my husband that viewers prefer the owner to be out when they look at a property as they can be more honest with their opinions.

The estate agent said he had taken the woman to another house before mine and I googled the road and saw that was a much bigger and expensive 4 bed house (!) so I think she was just comparing areas as my house is smaller but a much better location. I imagine my house was too small for her.

It was quite a big shop I ordered, so I've spent the afternoon cutting up, wrapping up and freezing various things in CFO portions - the freezer is stuffed and I'm spoiled for choice.

I had another portion of the carrot and sweet potato soup for lunch and for tonight its a warmed up scotch egg, baked beans and pickled beetroot for tea.

Caronc - I hope you are happy with "Greekish" its had some good reviews and as I'm going into the City tomorrow I'll stop by the Bookshop to have a browse  ;)
