    Good morning everyone,
Looks as though yesterday might have been summer as it back to gloom today and we have heavy rain forecast. I hope it improves a bit for the Open here mid month or there is going to be a lot of soggy golf fans.
As usual I'm sore after yesterday's physio so a gentle day of pottering planned. Frank gets dropped off late afternoon and my sis (with Ari) is coming for dinner. I've made a lasagne so just salad to sort out later. Cucumber will feature as they are coming at a good rate now, at least something is doing well this year! LO sausage for lunch.

If you're house hunting again Wednesday has your husband now retired?

wet day so I cba to go out ☔️ I've had enough now 🙄

Lunch was a repeat of yesterday, toasted ham and cheese sandwich with sliced tomatoes.  Duck leg from the freezer for dinner with Asian spices, vegetables and noddles

Yes! He retired at the end of June, officially.  :)

I got pizza yesterday from the local restaurant that was recently on Come Dine with Me. I might have the leftovers for breakfast. It looks quite nice and sunny today, yesterday was rain on and off all day.

Day of respite, rain has stopped for a breather today. The garden is still very soggy though.

I ran out of ooomph and didn't get up until nearly nine, I think this shivery business is some sort of cold / lurgy thing, but I feel fine in myself

There's a loaf in the bread maker, but I don't think it will be ready in time for lunch
    Lunch, cheese omelette I think
Dinner, something a bit healthier than of late, salad & something

    Good morning everyone,
    And still it pours......
Frank arrived last night and is definitely a much calmer boy these days. I hope the peace continues.
Lots of things I could be doing but nothing that must be done so I'll see what the day brings.
Cottage cheese salad for lunch. JO's sweet and sour pork for dinner.

I had the leftover pizza for breakfast and then a toastie for lunch. I went to look around a charity shop this morning and bought a dress, a coaster and some wine glasses. I tried to read a bit of the Tom Selleck memoir I got from the library when I got home, but it wasn't all that interesting.

I have to get a repeat cholesterol test as it was slightly high before xmas so I had to fill in an e-consult. I find it so long winded to do that when it is something so basic, but I couldn't be bothered to try and get through on the phone as I was fifth in the queue!

I am looking forward to watching the football tonight.

Unfortunately we had a damp morning and the sun came out in time for me to drive to a hospital appointment so I missed most of it 🙄 Appointment was 20 miles away and I over estimated the time I needed, road closures else where so I expected more traffic and the warning about difficult parking, however I was 45 mins early and he was then running 30mins late so along time sitting in a warm hospital.

Early lunch of a cheese and HM coleslaw sandwich.  Dinner of smoked haddock, mash potato and veg I always think of my mum when I have smoked haddock, she didn't trust the undyed stuff she expected it to be bright yellow and liked it with white pepper, malt vinegar and white bread and butter 🙂

I just had my usual toast and Flora. I am having some sparkling water and a kiwi fruit.

The weather looks nice today, but I am going to go to Kent tomorrow with my brother and it is supposed to rain again!

Sunny start at least, if it keeps up I'll do a bit in the garden, there's a shrub that needs a good pruning, my back allowing of course.

Ours was always bright yellow as well, but being years ago, I wonder if that was normal? Not dyed, but naturally smoked in kilns, unlike today where it is just soaked or painted in “smoke flavour”, except for really posh stuff.

Lunch, more salad bits in a sandwich
Dinner, defrosting some roasted pork, slices of that with yet more salad and use up “new” potatoes
