    Good morning everyone,
I think a bit of both re the smoked haddock as dye has been added for a long, long time to make it more visually appealing and appear fresher for longer . You'd struggle to replicate that hue in a kiln so even traditional stuff is often dyed.  :)
Gloomy here but at least it's not pouring.
Domestic catch up and I need to sort out what to wear to a friend's 60th birthday afternoon tea tomorrow.
LO sweet and sour for lunch. Pasta with bacon and peas for dinner.

    Yay we had sunshine 🌞😎

just some gardening pottering as it's green bin day tomorrow and a top up shop in Sainsbury's.

Meals were yellow sticker 😁. I picked up a container of pasta, pesto and pinenut salad for lunch half price.  Dinner was Korean chicken, wasabi brand less than half price tasty and spicy with rice, and vegetables

I bought some Bonne Maman jam yesterday and I just had some on some toast and a cup of coffee with almond milk.

I have to go and have a shower and get ready soon.

Dull & cool this morning, seems to be very variable.
I saw a bit about Jet Stream & a vortex, seems we are stuck like this, same as pulling a face as child and the wind changes :)

I know this is MSE, but I think the extra price is so worth it, luckily BM jam is often on offer, but still more expensive than own brand etc, but the taste trumps the price IMO

Lunch, cheese & raw onion slices, not sure if in a toastie or sarnie just yet
Dinner, the weather is ideal for bangers N mash, frozen bangers in AF, mash is LO

I agree re the B&M jam but I will say Lidls do a jam in a similar shape jar which is almost as nice especially their blackcurrant.  Having said that I do have a jar of B&M blackcurrant brought on offer waiting for a toast day 🙂

back to a colder and grey day again although it kept dry.

Last of my loaf of bread for lunch, toasted spread with marmite and a poached egg.  Easy dinner JO one pot pasta with smoke salmon

Early start out watering up volunteer spot while sun was out. Clouding over a bit but still reasonable out.

I have to finish off the Asda list later for mid-week delivery, and sort out the garden waste wheelie bin, it's all go here :)

Meals are undecided, I have two, cooked & cold LO sausages which somehow I'll have for lunch
Dinner, a freezer rummage for an easily nukeable MFO

    Good morning everyone,

I had a lovely afternoon out yesterday, I thought as did the rest of us we were having afternoon tea but the organiser had booked lunch which tbh suited me (and the birthday "girl") better. The food was lovely, I had a mushroom, walnut and tarragon pate that was good but slightly underseasoned followed by a delicious red miso braised short ribs with noodles dish.
A bit of a catch up day needed today. Fridge gravel for lunch and I'm trying this recipe for chicken wings tonight Lemon and oregano chicken wings with feta dip - delicious. magazine (deliciousmagazine.co.uk)

The Bonne Maman jam is expensive, but very nice. The man in the shop said "Ooh you are buying the posh jam" when I bought it.

I did over 26,000 steps yesterday walking around in Kent! I was supposed to be going to a local concert tonight, but I am so tired that I might skip it.

I had toast with PB, a yoghurt and a coffee this morning.

  • Hello everyone. Back CFOing after a few days away and a meal out yesterday.

Back to work next week so have done a meal plan and biggish shop today.

Out for a haircut this morning so had brunch of tomatoes on toast. Chicken and broccoli satay noodles tonight.

The sunshine was back today 😎 well up until 4pm when we had a rain shower.  My sister and I went out to a sculpture garden about half hour drive away, I had no idea it was there.  We sat in the garden and had a picnic lunch.

Then back to my sister for a cuppa and her granddaughter and her mum popped around.  Little one was in hospital again overnight on Wednesday needing oxygen and steroids (asthma attack) but was running around today giving us and especially her uncle orders 🙂

I made a orzo risotto for dinner with mushrooms, leeks, spinach and asparagus.
