Dashed cold here today, but it is quite pleasantly sunny in between some very squally showers.

Split pea soup for lunch with a wedge of cheese scone and tonight it's a sausage roll, mashed potato and baked beans - proper school dinner meal  ;)

His lordship allowed me a lie in this morning and he didn't get out of bed until after I showered 🙂

Grey start to the day I had some things to do out and about and came home via Leonardslee Gardens unfortunately it rained after a hour but I got to see the rhododendrons which are beginning to flower and caught the feeding of the wallabies and the little talk they give before it started to rain.  The benefits of an annual pass is not feeling annoyed about short visits.  Home via Sainsbury's for weekly shop and petrol and typical the sun was shining driving home

Fresh bread roll brought so cheese and HM coleslaw for a late lunch.  Not sure about dinner I have a LO duck leg but may leave for tomorrow lunch and have a mushroom omelette with bacon and AF chips

  • Haven’t left the house today 😀

Dry, bright and cold to start, started raining during the afternoon…

Had some LO traybake with added feta and a toasted pitta for lunch. Easy tea of salmon with creamy leeks and beans from the freezer.

    That looks interesting Brambling.

It was horrible and rainy yesterday, but it looks a bit nicer today which is good as I'm going to the beach. I have to dust, vacuum etc.. so I had better get cracking as my brother is getting here at 1.

I had a cup of Yorkshire tea and some wholemeal toast with Flora.

Lovely photos Brambling I love a rhododendron, unashamedly big, blousey flowers and silently shouting - LOOK AT ME  :D  There are some spectacular ones at a few National trust properties in this area, sadly I wont get to see them now as the estates are not easily accessed without a car.

Lunch today I'll use up the last piece of quiche in the freezer with a salad on the side. Tonight I'll make some smoked haddock fishcakes, a leek & parsley sauce and ss peas.

Blue sky but a bit chilly at the moment. Hopefully it warms up a bit because I want to plant out my climbing beans later.
Nice photos Brambling, we don't have many rhododendrons around here, soils too chalky, I normally get my fix at Wisley.

Bread on the go in the Panny, for lunchtime sandwich, the filling of which is TBD
LO roast chick leg out defrosting for dinner, current plan is roast spuds etc but could just turn into salad

    Good morning everyone,
    Gorgeous photos Brambling.
Bright but cold today, lovely to see some sunshine.
DS2 has headed out to help a mate fill (yet another) skip so just me an Hector this morning though Ari will be arriving soon for a sleepover.
Don't seem to have much oomph so will see how the day goes, there's not much on my "to do" that can't wait so might just enjoy sitting on deck in the sunshine with my book this afternoon.  :)
Fridge bits for lunch. Tonight it's spiced roast chicken legs, HM coleslaw, wedges and corn cobettes.
  • Lovely sunny day here but still cold 🥶

Off out to Lidl and sainsburys this morning so all stocked up for the week (and a bit beyond).

Haircut at lunchtime so had brunch of the end of the LO veggie traybake with a fried egg and some of the free Lidl rye bloomer.

Stripped the bed when I got back and put one load through and out on the line. Bedroom dusted and hoovered, and bed remade. I’ve also done about half of the minutes from my voluntary meeting.

A version of the BBC Good Food sausage, kale and gnocchi one pot tonight (frozen spinach instead of kale, and I just chuck it all in together 😂).

Must go and get the washing in…
