  • Started off drizzly here but very mild. Sun had come out by the time I left the office. Had a relatively quiet day and actually got a few bits done as well as a couple of productive meetings 😄

Couscous with roasted peppers, olives, cherry tomatoes and feta for lunch. Chickpea and chorizo stew from the freezer tonight, with a toasted pitta, nice and easy with a 🍷

Sunny start, now heading downhill with rain on the way. i was hoping to have a potter in the garden, but I think that will be postponed now.

Made a fresh loaf first thing, which for some unknown reason has not risen as much as normal, it's OK but denser, very odd, maybe because it's a new / different bag of flour somehow?
Or is my BM going downhill because I had similar results recently? I'll carry on with it unless it really goes kaput.

Completed my Asda order for mid-week next week, dearer than normal because of Easter offers too good to miss, lamb leg & salmon side both on offer. Probably portion up the salmon as before, the on offer price makes it cheaper than their essentials range, of course remains to be seen if in stock come delivery day.

Now I have fresh bread, lunch is salad sarnie
Dinner, Grill one of the thick pork chops, with buttered new spuds, carrots, parsnips & pointy cabbage

I had a bowl of muesli with soya milk. Another library book is ready for me to collect so I will start the other book this weekend.

Same weather here Farway and back to "feeling like 4 or 5c" with threat of snow on the hills.

I've made a bacon and leek quiche this morning which I will have with some salad for lunch and freeze the rest. Got my fav scotch egg in my SM delivery so I'll have it warm for a change tonight with some cauliflower cheese on the side.

Because of the weather change I'll give my beach walk a miss and do some sorting, filing and shredding this afternoon.

  • Have had a fairly quiet, catching up sort of a day. Very mixed weather here - sunshine, showers, cold wind. Managed to miss the rain when I was out and about. Walked to the farm shop this morning and spent my loyalty points on chicken thighs.

Lunch was a tuna, sweetcorn and spring onion sandwich made with bread from the loaf that was a Sparks freebie 😄

Grocery shopping and collecting an online order this afternoon.

Made a single portion of JO’s sweet cherry tomato and sausage bake tonight, stirred some cooked gnocchi through the sauce, topped with Parmesan and served with green beans 😋

I forgot to post last night i was in bed before I remembered 😴

It started off nice this morning but chilly but when I walked into town with my sister for lunch we got caught in the rain ☔️ after much debating as she wanted a cooked meal we settled for fish and chips for lunch, I haven't been in the chippy which has a little cafe for about 15 years 😋. We pottered in town afterwards, we are still deciding on a holiday this year.  I nice chatty day but I wasn't popular with his lordship when I got home after 6pm 🐈‍⬛

After a big lunch I haven't need dinner other than a apple at 9pm

Looking a bit brighter weather this morning, so hopefully I can get a bit of garden pottering completed.

I nearly did the same after my Morries trip, haven't had proper chippy F & C for years, pre COVID even. I can see me in one soon

Made what is becoming my normal “use up” banana loaf, for a bit of variety I bunged some mixed fruit in it.

Lunch, with the fresh bake yesterday I's a fried egg sarnie
Dinner, grill the remaining pork chop, make potato salad using LO boiled spuds, plus a bit of salad

Mixture of sunshine & showers here after what sounded like a wild night of wind and rain battering the windows and flapping the letterbox. Managed a brisk walk in between the showers this morning too.

Got the SC on early doors with some pork I defrosted overnight, if its ready I'll have it for lunch with some roasties I have in the freezer (lo from Christmas) and some steamed cauli & kale.

Not sure about later but there's lots of picky bits that need using.

I had a bowl of muesli again for breakfast and a banana.

I think I will have a Quorn steak bake for lunch with steamed veg and gravy.

It is bright and sunny here, but I put the heating on as I had to wash my hair and it feels a bit chilly.

    Good morning everyone,
Like Brambling I forgot to post yesterday.
The DS1 and DIL2B were here for lunch, nothing fancy just hot filled rolls, and stayed until late afternoon. The plan originally was to give the pooches a long beach walk but the weather was foul so that got shelved. The weather is lovely, though chilly, today but it looks as though it's a brief visit of sunshine before the rain returns.
Fridge bits for lunch and I've sirloin steaks defrosting to have tonight.
