Is your DGD on a gap year Farway or has she finished her studies

Busy day at work, a colleague was signed off sick for a month after losing her mother last week and my managers mother is very ill in hospital at 90 I think it's a case of she needs a big operation but its doubtful she will survive it and they aren't keen to do it, so he is working around hospital visits. My sister has threatened me with violence if I'm persuaded to stay longer than the 24th May to help out.

I needed a blood test done lunchtime it is always busy so I grabbed a chicken sandwich as a late lunch at 2.30pm. I wasn't hungry dinner time so had a few crackers with marmite and cheese at 9pm soi won't regret it 3am

Currently doing a year here https://www.themacroberttrust.org.uk/horticultural-training-scheme/ as part of horticultural apprenticeship. She has some plan about off to Brazil after this, something to do with eco agricultural, but I'm not sure what or when. Seems youngsters certainly have opportunities if they care to follow them.

Picked my first crop yesterday, only chives :) , mixed into cheesy mash, but still it's a start
Lunch, grilled cheese on toast again
Dinner, fry some frozen cod, currently defrosting, over two years past BB date :o but looks OK. With nuked LO cauliflower & cheesy / chive mash.
A very white meal on a white plate, so maybe some frozen peas just for a splash of green

I am feeling so much better today as the antibiotics my GP gave me must be kicking in. I had such a good sleep too as I ordered a new orthopedic pillow from Amazon. OMG, it makes such a difference.

It is rainy and chilly today. I am about to have a bath and then get into my sweatshirt and leggings and have another at home day. I have found a new author I like on Prime Reading and I just got a message that one of her books is ready for me at the local library too.

I feel like having a big breakfast today. Hash browns, baked beans, toast and tomatoes. A proper cup of Yorkshire tea too.

    Good morning everyone,
Fab you're DGD has such aspirations, too many young people (for many, many reasons though often poverty related) see to lack the self belief needed to pursue what's out there.
Glad the antibiotics are helping Wednesday.
Dull and wet here today. I'm for a pottering day making cottage pie for dinner and I want to sort out a couple of the shelves in my larder cupboard as they've got rather jumbled. Fridge rake or HM soup from the freezer for lunch.
  • Finally managed a productive wfh day, massively helped by a long meeting getting cancelled 🙃

LO pasta for lunch. Swimming tonight so had early tea of smashed avocado and scrambled eggs on toast 😋

Halfway through the working week for me!

    She's doing well Farway 🙂

My manager and I managed to finished a large piece of work ahead of schedule, not bad considering he has come down with a bad cold / flu which will free up some time tomorrow although I did see a meeting had slipped into the calendar from the US.  The newbie was having difficulties grasping what we were doing and I realised after over ten years and four of those remote on Skype calls we have a shorthand we use   :#

Chicken salad for lunch with a small part baked roll.  LO beef casserole and veg for dinner, last two portions have been frozen

I am going to have a smoothie again. I'm feeling much better today, but I am still staying in today to make sure.

I sorted out my pantry again yesterday and I have a lot of pasta and noodles! I know they last ages, but I forget that they are there.

I did order some ready made ravioli in the shopping that I will have later for dinner, but the next few days I will have to plan some meals to use some of the pasta up.

Dull but dry, Asda delivery arrived a tad early, but I was ready anyway

Lots of subs this time, and one unavailable, which unfortunately was on offer unwaxed lemons.
Subs are OK, jammy dodgers for fig rolls for instance ;)
I wanted the lemons because I saw a video how to make lemon curd in pressure cooker, it looked easy enough in a mix-up & bung it in fashion
However, the on offer limes arrived :) , some may recall the lime curd discussion a bit since? All being well, sometime this weekend I'll be getting the "not a Ninja" pot up & running with a lime curd attempt.

Lunch, I made a fresh loaf last night now the bread machine is behaving again, so it's fried egg sarnie.
Dinner, Nuked jacket spud, with tuna Mayo inside, and newly delivered salad

    Good morning everyone,
Well done on the pantry tidying Wednesday, mine remains jumbled...
Dull and drizzly here today. Ari arrives later to stay for until next week as my sis is away. Him and Hector rumble along nicely together so hopefully it won't be too chaotic.
CFO tonight as DS2 is heading to DS1's with my nephew for dinner. Chicken or pork steak for me with veg and spuds. LO cottage pie for lunch.
  • Much milder today but still a bit grey. Usual Wednesday morning of offsite meetings but then went into the office. Had another portion of Wensleydale waldorf couscous at my desk for late lunch (remembered the walnuts today 🙃).

Long day but made myself go swimming, even though I didn’t feel like it. Felt better for it! Quick prawn and veg egg fried rice when I got in.
