A lovely weather day here, really felt like spring was on the way. Two loads of washing dry on the line and I had a lovely pottering session in the garden - mostly tidying up things that haven’t survived and weeding but did spot some new signs of life too 🌞
I’ve also meal planned, shopped, tidied up a bit and chilled with some telly (it’s been a long week).
Used up the houmous and olives at lunchtime, with a toasted pitta, bit of salad and a couple of feta & spinach parcels from the freezer. Stole Was inspired by Brambling’s dinner last night and had salmon with stir fried veg and noodles in a sesame oil, soy sauce, chilli, ginger and garlic dressing/sauce 😋
I worked this morning until about 2pm although I was up earlier than planned due to his lordship doing zoomies around me on the bed, bouncing off the bedside table and over my pillow/head 🐈⬛ he was put out at 6.30am 🙄
I was going to get a few SM bits in town but the reports of local FB was it was chaos on the roads and by 4.00pm it was taking nearly a hour to get out of Sainsburys and Waitrose car parks which are opposite each other. I rejigged my list and walked to T Express for milk, eggs and berries the other few fresh bits can wait until one evening next week
Late lunch was the last of the Christmas gammon from the freezer with a hard boiled egg and salad. I pressure cooked a beef casserole for dinner 😋 I decided against dumplings but had LO mash potato and green veg to go with it.

Just slightly different weather here today, sky is a darker shade of grey because we now have rain in the mix its still very windy. The sea is very white due to the big rollers heading towards the shore so another day staying cosy at home
I’ve got a hotch-potch pot of soup on the go, b/nut squash, sweet pot, carrot, shallot and lentils; there is a mixture of spices in there too and because the veg are all a bit sweet I’ve thrown in a tsp of white miso paste to add a more savoury flavour.
Cheese and onion toastie for lunch and a prawn burger (no bun) with a mixed salad and slaw for tea.

Good afternoon everyone, Thinking we are sharing weather N2BT! My "baby" is 31 today - eek! DS1 and my sis are joining us this evening for a low key celebratory takeaway. The boys gave me a a gorgeous bouquet for Mothers' Day. As I'll probably eat far too much tonight lunch will just be a couple of crackers with cheese and some salad.
A truly miserable weather day here, such a change from yesterday. Haven’t left the house today 😬
Lots of voluntary admin, bit of domestics, packed lunch prep and quite a lot of catch up telly, needed an easy day though.
Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toast for lunch. Sausages with Mediterranean lentils, spinach and sun dried tomatoes tonight. I’ve also had a bit of dolcelatte on oatcakes 😉
The only time I left the house today was to the compost bin and I squelched across the lawn. A pottering day getting some outstanding chores done, reading and catching up on some TV
I had a little salmon left from Friday lunch was salmon and tenderstem broccoli using the last of my sesame and soy dressing
Small chit was steam roasted in the Ninja with roast potatoes, carrots and parsnips, finishing up some LO sweetcorn and runner beans. This week will be chicken heavy but I have cleared a chicken sharp gap in the freezer

Back again after a day off visiting DD & DS, but it's still a dull & drizzly morning, hardly inspiring.
One bright thing, DGD is getting some award from London Mayor today, no idea if Lord Mayor or Khan one, or what it is or where, but they've paid for flights, hotel etc so must be quite posh. No doubt DGD will inform us in due course.
Lunch, grilled cheese on toast, I fancy something warming
Dinner, posh W/rose F fingers out defrosting, and mashed use spuds + use up cauliflower steamed, and probably ready mix cheese sauce granules.

Good morning everyone, Congratulations to DGD Farway. We had a lovely, chilled day yesterday for Ds2's birthday a Mothers' Day rounded off with a very enjoyable Indian takeaway. I seldom indulge in takeaway food so tend to really enjoy it when I do. We're Ari sitting today, poor love has a dicky tum after eating something rotten on the beach before my sis could stop him. He's not enjoying the very restricted rations so clearly feels okay in himself and hopefully his tum sorts itself out in the next day or so. LO curry for lunch and JO's mini pasta with bacon and peas for dinner. Bacon & Pea Pasta | Pasta Recipes | Jamie Oliver Recipes
Its grey and drizzly here too so I jumped on a bus and went to the shopping centre not too far away. Got the essentials and had time for a mooch around matalan and bought myself a t/shirt before getting the next bus back.
We have another flood warning for high tide this afternoon, the floodgates and sandbags are out on the flats on the ground floor but the boundary wall hasn’t been fixed yet so nothing to stop the sea getting in our front garden. It was over-topping along the promenade yesterday but not too bad - seems worse today and its that New Moon again .
Anyway ham salad sub roll for lunch and I’ll do spag bol with steamed broccoli on the side.
Thats great news about your DGD Farway
