It was blue sky and sunshine when I went out lunchtime it's been raining since early evening but not very hard

My sister had a car versus pot hole incident just before she got to work this morning, luckily just the tyre but as there is no spare wheel in her car she was recovered this evening back to her garage as it's a 40 min drive.  She's borrowed my car for tomorrow I think I should be worried as she phoned me from her drive to ask did she just need to put it in park and that was it :#  She did drive it for the week we were on holiday but hasn't since then. I've a feeling my automatic windscreen wiper and lights may need resetting when she brings it back. She's happy to benefit from my full tank of petrol 🤨 it may cost her afternoon tea

LO meatballs and pasta for lunch.  Sirloin steak from the freezer with chips and veg for dinner and a chimichurri sauce on the steak

Normally rain crosses the border, so I'm guessing this morning, like me, it's tipping down now. Really gloomy, no chance of any Northern Light. Solar flare spotting.

Not sure if just the dull morning but I got up later than usual, it's a sort of sit around reading / watch TV kind of day at the moment

Lunch, last BLT sarnie using the M & S YS bacon
Dinner, so far I'm still thinking of a frozen pizza, suiting the lacklustre gloomy day

Quite a change today weather-wise, very cloudy a threat of rain and its blowing a brisk SE which means lots of white horses rolling on to the beach  - I love watching it when its like this.

Back to healthier plan today….well nearly. Using up more of my freezer stock with soup and a slice of toast for lunch and the last portion of chicken curry, half a naan and I’ll do some salad or veg to go with it.

I’m getting low on fresh veg so I’ll do a mini plan and go see what the local coop has, they are more expensive but cant be bothered going elsewhere today.

    Good morning eveyone,
Dull and feeling chilly here this morning.

Managed a good clothes declutter yesterday, like many I have clothes in various sizes (or in many cases the same size is on the label but the actual measurements very variable) so I've plenty of clothes to see me to Autumn though I'm going to have to do a lot more ironing! Thankfully I don't follow fashion trends so they don't look dated.

Sis and nephew here for dinner, I made cauli cheese yesterday to have with roast chicken legs, spuds, veg and gravy.
    HM soup again for lunch.

How did you lose weight Caronc? I have been steadily gaining after a few months since I moved out of London. I am trying to blame being in perimenopause!

I have had a cup of cocoa and vanilla tea and I'm going to make a sandwich in a minute.

Since January 2023 I've reduced my portion sizes particularly around bread and lunch e.g. one slice of toast instead of 2 for breakfast and a one slice sandwich or a couple of crackers if I'm also having soup or salad for lunch. My aim is to lose 500g per month, so a tiny goal but  apart from a couple of blips around Easter and Christmas it's working for me so far. I'm not a snacker or dessert/sweetie eater so didn't really have anything to cut back on there. I'm working on the principle a small steady loss I can keep up rather than drastically cutting back and getting fed up. It's definitely harder to shift once you're of a "certain age"!
  • Much colder and greyer than forecast for most of the day here, didn’t bother doing a wash as wouldn’t have dried. Sun came out late on so enjoyed a walk to the post office with yet another card, March is one of those months…

LO salmon pasta for lunch and usual early tea of beans with toast before swimming. May have had a small piece of cake with my cuppa when I got in 😉

Unfortunately you overshared the weather again 🌧️

Usual work day, not too manic but busy enough to go quickly

easy lunch of scrambled egg on toast with some wilted spinach.  I needed to cook some potatoes so I made about three portions of mashed potatoes in the pressure cooker, slight cooking time error so I just had to take the potato masher out the drawer for them to fall apart  :# they tasted ok 🙂 I found a portion of braised red cabbage in the freezer and a pork chop so that was dinner

Happier weather this morning, blue sky after yesterday's awful rain.

A bit of a disaster with what was to be my fresh loaf, I have a sad, dense loaf from the Panny this morning, seems like a lot of flour remained unmixed in as well.
I'll try to make another later, it could be the yeast is duff, it was a new tin, but who knows? I'll use the old trick of some in warm sugar water to see if it fizzes up first.
The flour not mixing, hope it's not the machine on its way out, with timing errors etc.

Now I'm a bit stuck for lunch, no bread, I think I have tins of stuff, like chilli, so could open up one of those, or make a Ploughman style with cheeses & salad bits
Dinner, the frozen pizza that i never cooked yesterday

Lovey weather today too. Blue skies and sunny. We have had a very mild winter, where I live anyway!

My husband has a blood test this morning. I am cooking for two later when he gets back as he had to fast and he will be hungry. I'm making vegan sausages, hash browns, toast and baked beans for brunch. I have some strawberries to eat too.

I am trying to stick to a budget this month and not order any takeaways or eat out. I'm not sure I will last the whole month. I have realised just how much food we have in the house, though. I need to be more mindful when I order shopping.
