Yay it's Friday I seemed to be bothered a lot today by people who could find the solution if only they looked themselves or in one case about a piece of work I handed over in 2021 😡 maybe my patience is getting shorter as I can see the end 🤨 not that I'm broadcasting that too soon to my colleagues outside my team just yet!  As I was on my own this afternoon I escaped dead on 5pm for a change

lunch was a  portion of vegetable soup the last portion was frozen as this was a larger than usual batch.  I baked salmon in a bag tonight in the ninja and roasted some fennel as well, new potatoes and broad beans with a salsa verde

  • Much better day today (not hard really) although it rained first thing and has been very cold again.

No proper cooking last night meant no LOs for lunch so picked up a tuna sandwich when I went out for petrol, which also meant I left the office for a bit 🙃

Pork and mushroom stroganoff tonight (LO roast pork from the freezer) with wild rice and broccoli.

Not such a nice day today so I’m lazing around catching up on the first few episodes of MAFSA , hopefully it will stop raining soon and I can get out for a walk later.

Wet & grey start but brightening up now, may even get out for a squelch in the garden later.

You are right Brambling I’m already thinking that I will set aside the £40 odd that I will save each month. I like Farway’s idea of taking coach trips to places I’ve never been before. I’m a very independent individual and the car helped support that but you are right Caronc I will adjust and learn to rethink how I do things.

Hope the non car travel fund soon builds, and you manage to get around easily. Another thing I did, but needs a bus pass, was just hop on any bus any see where you get to. Here I trundled off to Chichester via all sorts of villages I would never have visited by car.
If you do decide on coach journey I would advise the posher coaches, budget ones are short of legroom IME

    Lunch, cheese mushroom omelette
Dinner, last of the offer Pukka pies, frozen AF chips & LO beans

    Good morning everyone,
Perhaps use some of your "No Car" pot N2BT to buy a supermarket delivery pass. I find mine invaluable and definitely worth it.
My lurgy seems to have returned (I'm hoping it's not a new one!) and my energy levels departed. Thought I'd pretty much seen the back of it.
Dry and cold just now but rain is forecast for this afternoon. DS2 is off for lunch in Glasgow with DS1 & DIL2B so Hector and I will just have a lazy afternoon.
Bacon, tomato and avocado wrap for lunch. Garlic bread sausage sandwich for dinner with salad and HM oven chips.

I had bruschetta and pasta arrabiata at the restaurant last night and a lot of wine!

I had a toasted bagel and Flora just now. I'm really craving some fresh fruit.

  • Quiet pottering sort of day here after a busy week. Meal planned, shopped, collected a couple of online orders and done some tidying but not much else.

Lidl pesto pizza slice with coleslaw and salad for lunch. Made sweet potato and black bean chilli tonight, served with wild rice, avocado and soured cream. Couple of portions of chilli gone in the freezer 🙃

The furry alarm clock allowed me a lay in today 🐈‍⬛ so a slower start to the weekend, I drove into town late morning to pick up a elderly friend who couldn't get a taxi home, road works have closed the taxi rank for a few weeks.

The morning rain cleared by lunchtime so after lunch my sister and I went walking in a local garden, no baby wallabies just yet, we walked around the lakes trying to avoid the muddy bits,

I just needed a very small shop and some petrol so popped out tonight to combine the two

i had a little LO salmon so toasted bagel, cream cheese and salmon for lunch.  Meatballs with tomato sauce and pasta for dinner

Beautiful sunny blue sky after a hard overnight frost. Ideal for walking if wrapped up well.

Made a quick loaf from a packet mix first thing, realised my LO bread would not last for lunch.

Trying to figure out what to do with the beef mince to Use By tomorrow, savoury mince, chilli, bolognaise, burgers, meat loaf?

So far I'm thinking of HM burger in fresh bread sarnie for lunch
Dinner, another HM burger, with eggs and maybe HM AF chips
