  • Beetroot, cod, chocolate & chestnut for me 😋. Sounds like a lovely meal, caronc.

Today’s excitement was cleaning the bathroom! I’ve also been for a swim and done some voluntary admin.

Smashed avocado and scrambled eggs on toasted bagel for lunch. Used some of the LO roast pork from the freezer along with the other half of the leek from yesterday to make stroganoff tonight, served with rice and green beans.

Artichoke, steak and then I'm torn between sorbet, panna cotta and clafoutis 😁 I glad you had a good meal out Caronc

Another lazy day for me caught up on some TV and started a new book

Toast and marmalade for lunch.  Last of the noodles for dinner

Grey & dull day weather wise, inside the exciting bit is changing the bedding, whoopy.

Lunch, I'll join Caron in a fried egg sarnie
Dinner, last of my Asda MFO RMs, this time it's chicken in white wine. The recent MFO RM I've had have been tasty & seem to have improved for the better. Maybe more emphasis on taste than cutting costs?

    Good morning everyone,
Good menu choices folks, it was all excellent but the focaccia, onglet and panna cotta were outstanding.
Still stormy here but the incessant torrential rain has eased. My sis got nowhere with the factor yesterday apart from advice to use towels and buckets which of course she hadn't thought of!! Her neighbours below her now also have water coming in. Back on the case today! DS2 reckons the flat roof above her bay window has been damaged as it has become quite a dramatic leak.

  • Catching up on household chores here too. After a couple of mild days its starting to feel cooler again, just hope we miss the forecasted snow this time.

Made a pot of broth with all the odds and ends of veg as well as the last of the Christmas turkey, it was ready in time for lunch and the rest is almost ready to go into the freezer.

Tonight I’m doing a hotpot layers of potato, onion, pork chop, more onions and potatoes that will go all crispy on top.

  • Office day today but was away and therefore home in good time. Busy but in a productive way again (it isn’t always that way 🙄).

Pea and leek soup with a cheese topped roll for lunch. Easy tuna and broccoli pesto pasta tonight. Have put the bins out and dealt with a few personal and voluntary emails but other than that, caught up with some telly from the sofa 🙃

I got very little sleep last night so decided to take another day off work which was obviously needed as I dozed on the sofa for a hour at 12.00 then woke up enough to take myself to bed at 1pm where I slept until after 4.30pm 😴 not sure if 4.5 hours can be called a nap 💤 i made myself get up otherwise I wouldn't sleep tonight and I was hungry having missed lunch. I do feel a lot better obviously I needed uninterrupted sleep as I didn't wake myself up coughing.

Early dinner for me, I took out a small quiche from the freezer and airfried I had with a tomato salad

Grey & drizzle in the breeze, mild enough though.

Your sis' leak sounds bad Caron, hopefully not damaging any soft furniture etc, very annoying though, especially if needing someone else to pull their finger out first

Lunch, something warming needed, maybe open a tin of soup?
Dinner, baked spud, there were some suitable nicely sized ones in my delivery, along with smaller ones :s
I'll bake it in the oven given its size, and warm the place up a bit. No idea on filling yet, probably tuna / mayo, and serve with salad.

    Good morning everyone,
Hope you feel better today Brambling.
Yep it's quite a bad one Farway, luckily she's been able to move her bed and has a wooden floor but the ceiling, wall etc. are quite badly damaged. She is hoping for a temporary repair today after many hours on the phone yesterday. The wind and rain has eased so they'll be able to get the scaffolding needed up. She's coming for dinner tonight, I'm cooking Nigella's black pudding meatballs. LO curry for lunch.

  • It’s a beautiful sunny day here, although it is starting to feel cooler with an icy wind blowing from the NW.

I’m having another portion of yesterdays soup for lunch today and using the last half pound of steak mince I had in the freezer to make a chilli con carne that is heavy on the veg & kidney beans, I’ll have it with plain old boiled rice.
