Had a really good productive day in the office today, which included nipping out for a working lunch so had a cheese and marmite toastie 😋
Off out in a bit so just had a cheese and mushroom omelette with bread and butter.
Not my healthiest day 😂0 -
The cold struck overnight 🤧🥺 i texted in sick and went back to bed this morning, very unusual for me i don't think i had a day sick last year. Typically they are digging up the road around the corner so I gave up trying to catch up on sleep and they stopped a half hour later 🙄 it's sitting on my chest at the moment
I started cooking vegetable soup lunch time then added some pork mince rolled into balls and in a change of plans added a couple of fine noodle nests at the end 😋 so rather than soup with noodles it was noodles with sauce and veggies 😁 it was really tasty and warming and just what I needed with little appetite and chilli for sinuses. There are LOs in fact I'm not sure if I'll have to cook this weekend 🤔 I'll have to see how it heats up. I had a bowl about 2pm then just some crackers at 8pmLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Dull & grey but supposed to be near record temperature even though it doesn't feel like it to meSorry to hear the cold intensified Brambling, I know from others there is a lot of it around, some Covid some just what is expected in the winter. My nephew is off school and has good & bad days, feels fine then goes downhill same day.Another mini pork pie ploughmans' for lunchDinner, other MFO RM, Asda spinach & ricotta cannelloniEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Sorry to here you are poorly Brambling, hope you feel better soon.
Its cooler and cloudier here today but the town is busy with the farmers market this morning. I decided to stay away, after the garage bill I had I will be drawing my horns in and trying to get by using freezer and cupboard supplies this week. I’ll apologise now for the possible repetitive or unusual combinations I may come up with.
Todays lunch was using small bits of leftovers that were stashed in the freezer - Spiced up sweet potato falafel, tomato sauce and half a naan leftover from last night’s curry.
Tonight it’ll be sausage roll, mashed potato, steamed cauli & carrotsJan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

Feel better soon, Brambling - there’s some nasty bugs around at the moment.Really mild here today, even saw the sun at one point. Got bedding mostly dried on the line before the drizzle arrived.
Out to get my hair cut this morning. Back home for lunch of filled pasta, tuna, sweetcorn and sun dried tomatoes. Grocery shopping and pottering this afternoon. Have had salmon with creamy leeks and cannellini beans plus broccoli on the side tonight. Much healthier than yesterday 😉0 -
A day doing very little for me,I was coughing and wheezing until after 3am then the PITA I live with 🐈⬛ loudly demanded attention at 7.30 when his vocal demands didn't work he cleared the bedside table including the lamp and my glasses, great fun trying to find them, I'm as blind as a bat and had to check space was clear to get on my hands and knees to look 🫣
I felt better after a shower and hair wash and decided clean bedding would be nice tonight. A loaf of bread was made as I fancied the carbs
noodles and vegetables for lunch. Having cancelled my dinner plans with my sister I don't wasn't to share especially as the little one has managed 9 hospital free months, narrowly avoiding a visit last week. I had some fresh bread and butter for a late dinner

Another dull & grey day, with hint of mizzle in the air, ideal day for doing nowtI also made a loaf first thing, given the weather I fancied a change from a salad based lunch, maybe sausage sarnie?Dinner, another change of plan due to weather. Pukka steak pie & HM mash, plus posh M & S frozen mixed veg.Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good afternoon everyone,
Hope you are better today Brambling and there was no further malarkey from His Lordship overnight.
After a lovely day out yesterday, Gloriosa was just glorious, it's back to "old clothes and porridge" today, the weather is foul and we have gales forecast for later. My poor sister has water coming her bedroom affecting the ceiling and pouring down the wall, a minor leak was reported to the factor (who is as much use as a chocolate teapot) after the storm just before Christmas but after recent storms has become much worse. DS2 is at her flat just now isolating the affected electric sockets while she tries to get a hold of the factor's emergency service. At least my nephew is in Glasgow so she can sleep in his room.
Roast lamb tonight with veg, roasties and gravy. I'm swithering between a fried egg sandwich or egg in a cup for lunch.
The menu from yesterday, we shared a good chunk of it lol!

I had a nice time at the party in London last night. We ate out for lunch and then ordered a takeaway for the hotel for dinner and then got something from Costa this morning so I am back to cooking for one and at home for the rest of today and next week.
I have just done a huge load of laundry and I put the heating on to dry some of it. I'm going to make another cup of tea and see what to have for dinner tonight.2025 GOALS

Nice menu Caronc, I think I would start with the Radicchio, then the Onglet steak followed by the sorbet…yum
I defrosted the last of the Christmas turkey, had a bit of a roast dinner, the rest will go in a broth tomorrow.
Tonight tea is leftover falafel, salad in a pitta.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
