Put a fried egg on toast and marmite 😋
These days I fiddle with my heating rather than relying on the timing but usually put the timer on overnight, last night I must have miss it and set it to off, it was blooming cold getting out of bed and the quickest shower on record, just as well my hair didn't need washing 🥶 I need to hunt out my slipper boots or thicker socks as I have cold feet
not sure what the osteopath did today but I'm more achy than usualI'll take a painkiller before bed and maybe give the exercises a miss before bed
a day of LOs so no cooking today, lunch was the last of the lentil salad. Chicken, veg and peanut noodle LOs for dinnerLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
I was so tired last night that I went to bed early, before 10. I did have a good sleep, but I knew I had to get up for the dentist this morning. I put the heating on for a couple of hours just now as it feels cold in here!
I was saying on another thread that my Ovo bill said I spent £50 less in December than I did in November which is weird. It must have been a lot colder in November.
I have had a cup of tea and I'm going to have a toasted bagel with marmalade.0 -
Sun + blue sky, but still frozen solid with snow in the shadows.Had to smile, just had a shopping promo update from Asda, I'm in the top 1% of blue cheese buyers
, And this area buys the most whole cucumbers. I've got a cucumber coupon waiting for me, what a time to be alive!

Good morning everyone,
Just above freezing now but very grey and slightly misty. There was a heavy frost when DS2 left for Newcastle at 5.30am. It's to get very icy this evening but he's hoping to get up the road at reasonable time.
I seem to have amassed a rather long to do list so must crack on with it today. Priority is sorting out my sister's birthday pressies.
DS1 is feeling much better so thankfully seems to have only a mild dose of Covid. So far the rest of us seem to have escaped it despite us all sitting round the table together on Saturday.
LO cottage pie for lunch. Thai green chicken and veg curry with rice for dinner.0 -
I forgot to post yesterday, not that I had very much to say. We must be getting a bit of a reprieve weather-wise the day-time temp a comfortable 5-6c and a thick layer of cloud protecting us from the frost at night - it wont last I’m sure.
Yesterday I walked up to the farm road to pick up eggs and had an egg mayo sandwich for lunch and spag bol for tea. Today is another day of eating from the freezer; lentil soup & toast for lunch and tonight I’ll use the last of the gammon joint and do some sweetcorn & spring onion fritters and another veg or baked beans on the side.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

I don’t think it’s as cold here today (didn’t have to scrape the car) but I’ve had warm weather food. Been in the office so microwaved a portion of the celery and Stilton soup for lunch. Just made sweet potato and broccoli satay Thai curry, served with noodles.
Seems to have been a long week…0 -
I haven't been outside today not even to the bin although the compost container will need emptying tomorrow, there was frost on the cars when I looked out this morning so I was glad to be WFH
Just me and the newer member of staff working most of the day with the boss coming back from a meeting at 4pm I may have bent his ear a little she is hard work I was relieved when she finishes 1.30pm uk time as it meant I got more work done on my own 🫣Cream cheese bagel for lunch with tomatoes. Nasi Goreng for dinner with some broccoli there are LOs so that may do lunch tomorrowLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -

Dull, grey but milderWednesday2000 said:It was so cold in Southend yesterday. I think it was the sea breeze too, OMG.Sorry to hear Covid back Caron, hopefully it will be as mild. It's going to be a picky meal sort of day, I have taken some smoked salmon trimmings out to defrost, and will make my belated Christmas salmon pate with getting close to BBE Philly cheese. Hardly a balanced meal but tasty nibbling. Also defrosting some bacon rashers & sausages, maybe add some AF HM chips & fried eggs for dinner?Need to finalise my Asda shopping, just as well I waited because they have just introduced fruit price reductions, so I've swapped my multi buy oranges + apples for the reduced price ones. I also have to sort out the cucumber offer.Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens1
