    Good morning everyone,
It must be a pet thing as Hector is the same as was Ben before him. I have no carpeting on the ground floor but the stair landing is the favourite spot for upchucking. Ari definitely prefers a bed though, he's the same at home!
Bright but very cold here this morning.
Unfortunately DS1 tested positive for COVID yesterday, we were all together for hours on Saturday so fingers crossed he's not shared it. He's not feeling too bad just tired and grotty so fingers crossed it clears quickly as we are supposed to be getting together again on Sunday for Frank's 1st birthday.
LOs for lunch and HM turkey soup for dinner.

Weather not too bad here today, there must have been good cloud cover overnight as no frost this morning.

I'm getting so lazy, bored of the dark mornings so end up lying in bed watching breakfast tv till well after 8 (yawn). Caught up on domestic chores that needed done today, a bit of recipe searching and some forward planning.

Turkey broth & toast for lunch - though I say it myself that was good pot of soup I made, there's still a couple of portions left in the freezer  B)

Some l/o teriyaki salmon for tea, I’ll do a vegetable fried rice to go with it.

I think Brambling's snow crossed the border, very snowy grass & cars this morning but roads seem clear, darker & warmer I guess. Sunny with a biting wind now.

Caron hope DS1 Covid is just mild. I have a bit of a tickley throat this morning, sets me wondering now, there is a lot of it about it seems.

Lunch was sausage sarnie, wanted something warm, now I've read it hot marmite toast sounds an excellent idea
Dinner, RM for one, braised steak & mash, I'll do it in oven get the kitchen nicely warm at same time. Maybe do some broccoli & sprouts to make it a "proper" meal.

I hope he keeps it to himself Caronc 😷

a sprinkle of snow remained on the lawn and car this morning from having frozen but it was very cold today I'm wondering if the dentist would notice if I set up with my laptop in their waiting room, it was very warm, probably paid from my first private treatment   :# the treatment wasn't painful just paying for it

tooth repair didn't require numbing so late lunch when I got back of lentil salad with some Brie which needed eating.  Dinner was chicken, noodles, veg and a peanut type sauce

  • I can’t decide if I’m glad of a wfh day because it saved me going out in the cold or annoyed about having the heating on for most of the day 🤔

Had a nice warming posh fishfinger sandwich for lunch (which was just what I fancied 😋). Easy reheat of LO pasta plus some freshly cooked broccoli tonight before going out to a voluntary meeting.

Very glad of my hot water bottle tonight 😊

  • How much roughly do you pay for private treatment at a dentist Brambling?

I made a smoothie yesterday that is in the fridge. I'm going to have that and then a toasted bagel. A cup of something hot too.

Blue sky & sunshine, but so cold, yesterday's snow is still around where the sun failed to reach. I was very glad of the hot meal last night.

Lunch, idea copied from Wednesday 2000, marmite on toast, but I may go exotic and add sliced fresh tomato
Dinner, odds & sods, LO braised steak, with fried eggs & HM AF chips + use up coleslaw.

I have the AF basket & bits in the dishwasher, cooking sausages in the AF does make a mess :( . I may look into getting some sort of chuck away lining for it, I've seen them in use on YTube

    Good morning everyone,
Feels much colder this morning, though technically isn't, probably because it overcast. I don't think the frost will lift much, if at all, and DS2 has "banned" me from stepping off the deck as the slabs are very icy! Thankfully I don't need to venture out!
Cottage pie tonight which just needs assembling later as I made the base on Monday and had a batch of cheesy mash in the freezer to top.
Hector shredded an old tuggy yesterday evening, we thought we'd got all the bits. Nope....... More tea needed and then I'll wield Henry hoover but suspect I'll find them for weeks!
    HM turkey soup for lunch.
  • Three long meetings today so having an easy evening on the sofa. House felt cold when I got home but it’s finally warmed up.

I took a lunchbox of roasted carrot, sweet potato, Stilton and walnut couscous and did have a few minutes to eat it between meetings. Just had griddled tuna steak with lentils, spinach and sun dried tomatoes. Might finish the chocolate orange with a cuppa in a bit 😉
