  • Grocery shopping done, Christmas
I looked at that quickly and thought it said Christmas shopping done! :D
Now that would be impressive! Highly unlikely but impressive 😂
  • Another dry day with even a bit of sunshine but definitely colder. Did some domestics this morning and then walked into town to run a few errands. Lunch of smashed avocado and scrambled eggs on toasted bagel when I got back.

Did a bit of voluntary admin this afternoon and then had a cooking session. Made celery and Stilton soup, roasted some sweet potato for later in the week and slow roasted a pork shoulder joint. Dinner was some of the pork with crispy gnocchi, green beans and a port sauce.

Full week at work starting tomorrow…

Chilly here they threatened snow early evening but I don't think it did anything, definitely nothing settle if we had a flurry

I didn't have a great night I don't think the hip appreciated the seats at the cinema  :| so a slow start to the day, it took a couple of cuppas to get me moving.

Last of my soup for lunch. Roast chicken for dinner done in ninja with roast parsnips, runner beans, tenderstem broccoli and savoy cabbage.  Whilst dinner was cooking I made a Moroccan lentil and carrot salad with loads of etc veg for lunches, I quickly popped into Sainsbury's lunchtime and picked up some peppers which were missing from my SM shop

  • Sleet showers forecasted for today. I don't have the heating on yet but I have a hot cup of coffee in front of me on my desk and a hot water bottle on my lap! I have only had a banana so far, but I will make breakfast soon.

My new mattress is quite comfortable, much firmer than my old one. It reminds me a bit of a one in a hotel.

Dull & chilly out, maybe snow flurries later, but I doubt it where I am.

Starting to find space in the fridge now the Christmas excesses have gone, or going. Last of the Quality Street eaten last night, just one large Toblerone to go and then I can start collecting Easter eggs!

In the use up mode, I've taken a couple of sausages & some black pudding slices out to defrost for tonight
Lunch, something on toast, probably cheese
Dinner, AF sausages, black pud slices, fried LO mash with eggs on top + grilled going manky fresh tomatoes

    Good morning everyone,
My day got off to an abrupt start when Ari threw up on my bed - fur ball I think though why he had to jump on my bed who knows! Just when I'd finally caught up on the laundry too!
Very cold and a bit misty here. Horribly icy underfoot so I shan't be straying beyond the deck.
Domestics and soup making on the "to do" today. I've promised my sis turkey soup for dinner tomorrow.
DS2 cooked lamb rogan josh last night from the book he got at Christmas, it was gorgeous.  .https://greatcurryrecipes.net/2022/07/2 ... m-scratch/
LO curry for lunch. I've pork steaks defrosting for tonight and I'll roast a pan of various veg to have with them.

    Good afternoon,

Mighty cold start this morning and a heavy frost overnight, thankfully it lifted around 10am so thought I would go shopping - the good news was the SM was practically empty of people. The bad news is that my car exhaust has blown and it sounds like the car of a boy racer. It is getting on a bit so I’ve got decisions to make.

Lunch today is some lentil soup from the freezer stash with a slice of toast.

    Teriyaki salmon with noodles tonight.

oh dear, not a good start - I had a cat years ago the house had a number of rooms had laminate or tile flooring but she always ran to the bottom of the stair carpet to throw up.

I love the curry guy, you need to plan ahead with some of his recipes but it does make a difference.

  • Not really sure where the day went but I’m exhausted 🥱

Was in the office so took a portion of celery and Stilton soup for lunch. Turned some of the LO roast pork into a ragu pasta dish tonight, served with green beans. There is LO pasta. Rest of the pork has been chopped up and frozen.

Gas fire on for a bit this evening, it’s turned very cold 🥶

I found out the hard way that a cream colour stair and landing carpet was a bad idea, not his lordship although he once came in and threw up half a mouse in my slipper whilst I was one a work call  :s one of my last cats was a British shorthair and suffered from fur balls, she would avoid mu laminated downstairs and my old bedroom carpet and go to the landing 🐱

cold start to the day the heating was on more than it has been all winter, and we had a heavy snow storm for awhile after 2pm it was large flakes but only about a cm of snow on the grass, bins and car which is now icing. I'm hoping it will be warm enough to melt before I have to go to the dentist at noon tomorrow

Lentil and carrot salad for lunch with some feta crumbled on.  Chicken and vegetable LO for dinner just pinged so nice and easy and no cooking for me today 🙂 I have finished the last of the lurking stollen so at least that's out of the house

  • It was so cold yesterday. We had some sleet and then snow that didn't settle.

I am totally sick of Dry January and cutting down on processed food at this point. I just had my old favourite of hot buttered toast with Marmite and it was gorgeous!

It is lovely and sunny today, but still chilly. I am going to make a creamy, lemony broccoli pasta dish that I just saw on Instagram for lunch. I am going to make a smoothie or two with the frozen fruit and yoghurt I have in the freezer/fridge too.
