Good morning, I hope those of you in the South haven't been too badly affected by the Storm, the north sea is like a boiling pot with lots of spume flying around in the wind - looks like a car-wash gone mad.
Was going to go to the bank to get some cash and pay a couple of bills, but its way too wet & windy, I’ll leave that for another day.
I feel a need to start eating something a bit lighter and healthier than I have been, I found some chickpeas and feta in the freezer so I’ll rustle up a salad with a herby/fruity dressing.
I’ll do a smoked haddock/cauliflower rice kedgeree type thing tonight based on https://www.waitrose.com/home/recipes/recipe_directory/s/smoked-haddock-cauliflowerkedgeree.html

Great spread, caronc!
Well, that’s first day back done, always the longest work day of the year 😂
Took a portion of the nutty sweet potato stew for lunch with a toasted pitta. Just had usual Tuesday early tea of beans with toast - swimming later.0 -
You were busy Caronc 🙂
The alarm woke me up this morning which was a shock I then switched it off and went back to sleepI didn't sleep well last night! It's just as well I WFH as it was 8.30am when the furry alarm clock nudged me awake
A big piece of work due to start today was postponed due to technical issues so we finished at 4.30pm they will claw it back tomorrow plus some as we will have to catch up, we are working to a tight deadline 🙄
The horrid weather thanks to storm Henk turned my thoughts to soup lunchtime, a fridge rummaged produced enough odds and sods of veg to make a tasty vegetable soup. A large mug of soup went well with an egg roll. I cooked some soba noddles to go with LO sweet n sour pork for dinnerLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -

It was very windy yesterday, the garden box had moved up the garden almost to the door when I went out there last night with my dog.
It is a lovely day today in contrast, very mild and sunny. I just stood outside with my cup of tea to drink it. I have ordered some things from Amazon today. I had a cup of tea, apple, a handful of cashew nuts and a teacake for breakfast.2025 GOALS

Good morning everyone,
Hope everyone remains unscathed by Henk. We seem to have missed this one.
Decorations are all down and DS2 is back at work (in the front room). Frank is very confused as he can hear him on the phone but isn't allowed to visit. Still catching up on the laundry and today I need to tackle the "tupperware" shelves, I swear it's breeding!!
Just a few bits of LOs left from Monday most of which will get used for lunch though I'll probably freeze the remaining cauli cheese. I've mince defrosting to make JO's gingery. garlicky black bean mince tonight.0 -
Complete contrast to yesterday's weather, even the sun is out.My Asda delivery arrived a bit early, not a problem as I was up & about anywayThe dishwasher tablet shortage was resolved, they subbed with Lemon flavoured ones at £4 extra but same cost to me. I do like that bit about Asda subs, it's same price or less
.
Fridge is full again, today I really need to sort out the LO turkey, pick it over and either freeze the meat or it's turkey curry time. I'll decide once I see how much meat there is.Lunch, LO cold turkey & stuffing, maybe with a bit of salad.Dinner, depending on turkey, curry or cold turkey & salad bitsI have a bag of spuds that have grown legs, not quite sure what to do about them right now, mash & freeze? Bin them? I have loads of potatoes ex Christmas.Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
I walked to Coop as it was so nice and sunny. There are lots of people on the streets jogging, time of year, I suppose. I bought some fruit and fresh bread and got home just as it started raining!
I had a mashed avocado on the bread for lunch. I am going to try and read for at least half an hour a day so I will do that now. I am going to make a cup of tea to have first.
I got my OVO bill today and it said I am still £200 in credit. I don't really need the heating on right now as it isn't cold, but I might put on a warmer cardigan.2025 GOALS

Back to a normal Wednesday for me - offsite meetings this morning then wfh for the afternoon.
Was home for lunch so spinach and ricotta tortellini with tuna, sweetcorn and sun dried tomatoes quickly thrown together. Managed an earlier swim session this evening so have just had egg fried rice with prawns, cashews and veg.0 -
I have the same problem with my Tupperware Caronc they are like rabbits multiplying in the cupboard, definitely need a cull
Sun out and blue sky today, some downed trees reported but we missed the worst.
A no cooking day for me 🙂 vegetable soup and egg sandwich for lunch using the last of the boiled eggs. LO chicken curry and rice for dinner.

I have the opposite problem as I always have less tupperware than I think in the cupboards. I end up using them for storing cat and dog biscuits instead of my own food.
I have had a cup of herbal tea and I think I will have a smoothie as I have a dentist appointment this morning and I don't want food stuck in my teeth. I will cook something substantial when I get home. I just looked at the weather and I should avoid the heavy rain that is coming later. My thyroid meds should be ready to pick up, but they are in completely the other direction and I had a bad sleep so I don't know if I can be bothered walking there today. I had a cup of coffee too late in the day yesterday and it affected my sleep.
