I just saw how bad the weather was in other parts of the country. Wow. I did hear the wind here this morning as it was whistling through my bathroom blinds. That was what woke me up as I had no idea what the noise was.
It is very mild and sunny here still. I have had toast and a yoghurt and a few cups of green tea.
My husband is going to have the tortilla wraps with some veggie chicken pieces I don't like.
I might make a curry with the leftover xmas veg for myself for today and tomorrow. I forgot I'm going out to London on the 30th as I'm losing track of what day it is!0 -
Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. I’m back from my Christmas visiting but off again for new year.Very much reheating for one here today 🙃. Had a gammon and cranberry sauce sandwich for lunch (on the way home with a service station cuppa. Reheated fish pie with some family food parcel freshly cooked green beans tonight.0

It's been a wet day here, and it's now getting very windy again, I'm hoping to meet my friend in Chichester tomorrow so here's hoping it lets up soon
I was working today but from lunchtime it was just a matter of monitoring the mailboxes so not proper work 🙂
Pate and toast for lunch with a slice of Christmas cake. I fancied a light dinner so had a omelette with some saladLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Dull but dry, but looking like rain, all very unsettled TBH, hope it keeps dry for you in Chichester BramblingNeed2bthrifty said:Good afternoon, what a difference a day makes it’s a beautiful sunny mild day today, but that was real scary weather yesterday - wind speed recorded at 86mph just a few miles from here, no wonder I could hardly keep on my feet.
Many roads still affected by flooding and trees down, Farway hopefully your DGD is still down your area as I believe the power in the area she works has been out from 11.00am yesterday and still out today when I checked social media - energy network supplied food vans feeding those in need, so it could take some time.
My food is still picking at bits as they take my fancy, but I'm gradually returning to normal fodderLunch, just toast probablyDinner, MFO RM of W8rose veg lasagneEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Good morning everyone,
The weather seems to have calmed after a couple of wild days. We've some slates down but no other damage thankfully. It's supposed to dip below freezing tonight.
Poor wee Frank had been missing DS1 and DIL2B (in between going loopy with Hector) and had a bit of an iffy tum. Always a concern with him but he seems back on form today so settling now I think. This is the longest he's ever been away from them so not surprising he's a bit off kilter.
Had a lovely catch up with a friend yesterday. I made a pot of "use up" soup to have with bagels and it was lovely.
A catch up on domestics needed today, where did all that laundry come from?
Soup for lunch and I'll see what I fancy later - there's plenty of choice.0 -
I felt tired again this morning *sigh* so I had a lie-in. It is very pleasant weather again, but I don't think I will go out today. My prescription should be ready tomorrow so I will pick it up before we go out. I'm meeting my brother and his girlfriend in London.
I had a ready made lasagne for brunch made in the AF. I think it is a stay in my pyjamas type of day.2025 GOALS

Another bright sunny day here, got some washing out early as the forecast is rain for the next week.
Farway, conditions have improved 100% up here, so her travel arrangements should be fine. However her recent chainsaw training will be very useful with all the trees that have come down in the area
I got distracted watching Lucy Worsley’s Arthur Conan Doyle 3 parter (Killing Sherlock) - I love the way she presents the story and historical evidence. I’ll move on to her Agatha Christie series next.
Picked up some nice marbled round steak at the butcher which has now been stewed into a nice pie filling with some onion, carrot & swede for New Years dinner.
Like others I used up odd bits for lunch and tonight I’ll do some haddock goujons, horseradish mayonnaise, peas, AF chips.

Catch up day here before more visiting over new year. Bed stripped and remade, load of washing done and on the airer, bits of ironing cleared. Also managed a swim.
Beans with toast for lunch and salmon with cannellini bean and leek stew and broccoli tonight.0
