Hope your back behaves over the Christmas Caron, and the gout medication keeps on working Brambling. Are you up to full strength one yet, or still on trial?

  • I have only had a banana and some water as I'm going out to eat in London.

My washing machine broke yesterday so I am having to wash everything by hand! The new one is being delivered on Saturday as I will be out today and I was worried if I ordered it for tomorrow it will arrive early like my treadmill did.

It is raining slightly so I need to take my umbrella.

    Good morning everyone,
Oh no re the washing machine Wednesday. Glad you have a new one organised. I keep waiting for mine to pack in as it is a cheap Beko one and I've had it since 2013. It's been a good buy after a succession of more expensive makes that failed after a few years.
Very, very windy here today. DS2 has taken Hector for his 6 monthly vet check and then he's got the groomers this evening. Ari is parked on the couch, he really hates the wind and rain so it will be round the block "toilet "walks only for him today. After the vet appointment DS2 will take H for a good run at a near by park as he doesn't care what the weather is like.
I need to finish my Tesco order and then I'll see what else can be ticked off the "to do"  today.
Christmas tree decorating attempt two is done. What faff DS2 had finding lights that didn't cost a small fortune. Eventually got a pack in Asda thankfully.
Fridge bits for lunch as no LOs, we ate all the lovely haddock we got yesterday from the fishmongers it was delicious simply breaded and shallow fried.  Cheesy, chilli meatballs with pasta for dinner.
  • It’s a bit breezy out there, have some washing on the line, just hoping it stays there.

Made a pot of lentil soup yesterday its in the freezer, made a pot of curried parsnip & apple this morning, I’ll have some of that for lunch and freeze the rest. Sausage & mash for tea.
I made sun dried tomato soup for dinner as I had a bowl in a local cafe a few weeks ago. Absolutely delicious. Onion, garlic, coconut milk, veggie stock and a tin of tomatoes blended up with a few sun dried tomatoes and the oil from the same jar. I might make that every week from now on. <3 I had some fresh bread and butter with it.
I like the sound of that soup and will give it a go next batch I make.

Breezy with sun trying hard now.

Things going wrong at Christmas, DS had water coming through his lounge ceiling yesterday :o , supposed to over there for Christmas as well, had visions of sitting there surrounded by buckets, but a plumber came out & it's fixed now. Not asked, but I expect that has cost a few quid at the wrong time of year.
Happy times ahead for him now painting the celling.

Gout life is so easy on one a day :) . I sometimes get a twinge & thank heavens for the tablets, as it remains just a twinge & no more.
I also made my final W8rose tweak yesterday, added 30p bag of spuds, the posh choc box had gone down to a fiver, mince pies down and the “easy Peelers” part of my coupons. :)

It was Asda delivery this morning, only missing items were the Asda Cola but most importantly the Veggie sausages arrived with plenty of date left for Christmas. I'm taking them over DS, mainly because they eat Quorn stuff & I cannot, it makes me puke, literally.
Age creeps up, the Asda delivery man should've still been in school by the looks of him, he was very helpful & polite as they all are IME

Lunch, AF LO roast spuds to crisped & heated up,
Dinner, The LO roast lamb leg is now in the SC with a jar of Asda cheapo curry sauce.
I have some frozen ready-made rice in the freezer, from the COVID-19 panic buying lockdown days, so I'll nuke a portion of that to go with the curry

  • Final office day survived, was actually very calm so got a few bits crossed off the to-do list. Just tomorrow from home, which will hopefully be another crossing off day 🤞

Had a portion of parsnip, butter bean and rosemary soup for lunch. We had pizza late afternoon as part of the festivities and have also eaten Christmas chocolates and biscuits during the day so have just had toast with cheese and chutney for supper. Planned dinner rolls over to tomorrow 🙃

It's been windy here all day, it started over night. It's rubbish day tomorrow and I hoping the wheelie bins stay upright on the verge opposite or it could be messy tomorrow my bin isn't very full so is quite light.

I was working on my own today as my colleague unfortunately had a death in the family overnight so my manager who is off was forwarding emails to me to deal with.  Tomorrow will be the same but i need a long lunch break for my osteopath appointment which is needed after a slight incident with the loft ladder (there is a reason Ive been told not to go up ladders)  :#  luckily it was just the last couple of steps but I fell back against the closed bathroom door and then threw myself forward to land heavily on my right foot which is the side of my bad hip so jarred it again  🙄 but at least the large Ninja box is in the loft and I could get out the Christmas tree from the little bedroom, I've been told not to be so b****ly miserable and decorate 😁 the tree was assembled and left bare lunch time so his lordship could inspect without causing 'issues' it's now decorated 🎄. Blah humbug 😉 I need to be less accident prone I don't bounce so well any more  🙄 I won't mention it to my sisters or nephews 🤫 there is a reason I make sure the door is closed behind me, no blood this time!!!

freezer rummage again today, chicken soup for lunch with a slice of HM bread.  Dinner was steak and kidney casserole and dumplings with LO mash and veg

Nearly summer outside now, wind has eased with a blue sky
My, a nice set of bruises for Christmas Brambling? These days, my loft is about as accessible to me as the far side of the moon, so I don't even attempt it any more.

The LO lamb into curry worked well, but I've frozen the LO because I am officially starting Christmas today, needed to start early with being round DS on The Day
Started making a trifle this morning, it's on the jelly soaking into sponge base stage at the moment

    Lunch, mushroom omelette
Dinner, salmon fillet out defrosting, choice of either new spuds, steamed broccoli etc or salad accompaniment

    Good morning everyone,
The weather is still wild but not as wild this morning. My sis is collecting Ari at lunch time and taking him and Hector to her house until this evening. While we are pooch free we aim to get the place hoovered and mopped. DS2 is out at a pal's house tonight. He's baking focaccia and will make a wee one for my sis and I to have tonight. We have a picky/cheese board type meal planned when she returns Hector.
Tesco are due later, nothing unavailable and just one acceptable sub. Assuming nothing is missing or I've forgotten something important that should us supplied for Christmas.
This morning I'm going to write time line for what needs doing when between now and Christmas dinner. Local cards are all delivered, I just need to wrap a couple of gifts.
    LO pasta for lunch.
  • I had a delicious meal in London yesterday and then saw Godzile Minus One in Straford. It was really rammed with people in Westfield. The film was really good!

I have only had a cup of coffee so far. I'm feeling hungry now. I did go to Aldi on the way home last night. I got a few nice things, including little chocolate elves. Oh yes, I did go to Krispy Kreme too!  :D
