I've been a late sender of Christmas cards this year, finally got the ones which need posting finished today and in the post as tomorrow is last day for second class, I even put a couple of letters in for people I only exchange cards with

A freezer rummage produce chicken soup for lunch and some bream fillets which I panned fried for dinner with salsa verde, new potatoes and some steamed veg

  • I am getting my hair cut today, she is driving over here and she can't seem to find my postcode! She has been here before back in September. My hair really needs a trim. It feels quite mild again today, but I might put the heating on for an hour just in case she feels the cold.

I have had a cup of that strawberry herbal tea so far.

    Good morning everyone,
    Another wild and wet one.
I've physio at lunchtime so will have to brave the squalls, though DS2 will run me virtually to the door.
LO schnitzel for lunch in a wrap with salad. DS2 is making  lamb keema saag for dinner.
  • Good afternoon, its still quite mild here, I did notice the west coast was getting a bit of a battering Caronc, as well as an amber warning for some areas, take care out there.

I went out early to go into the city, pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t too busy. Quickly got the shopping I needed at a large home wares store and had a browse around the bedding section, its been quite a while since I bought duvet covers but was shocked at the price of some of them :o

The petrol light pinged on the way in so filled up on cheaper petrol than we get out here in the sticks, plus extra nectar points too  B)

Back in time for lunch which is more of the soup stash, Spag Bol and a couple of slices of garlic bread for tea with a side salad too.

    Dull but mild
Not a good start to the day, found a flat tyre on the car as I got it out of the garage. With my wobbles & weakness no way I could change a wheel, so RAC called out, luckily I have Home cover, just as well.
Seems it is a leaking rim, he fitted the spare wheel, and now I have to sort out the leaky rim with Halford, Kwik Fit etc.
    A job for another day

Lunch was cold LO lamb in a couple of finger rolls
Dinner, more cold LO lamb, maybe with AF chips

  • Must be petrol with bonus Nectar points day, Need2be - did the same on the way home.

Another slightly crazy day at work…4 more days 🙃

Had a portion of the spicy carrot and lentil soup for lunch, with a toasted pitta. Made a harissa new potato, halloumi and sweetcorn hash tonight, topped with a fried egg 😋

Damn it I forgot I had a voucher for that and filled up at the local Petrol station when I went to their post office counter on Friday 🙄

Day off today which is just as well as I had an asthma attack in the middle of the night for a couple of hours, not sure why as I haven't had one for months, no lurgy but I've been wheezing all day.  So a pottering at home day this morning and I delivered a Christmas card to an elderly friend this afternoon and stopped for a couple of hours to catch up and do some IT jobs for her.  I also had to confirm she was the person to send me a blank Christmas card 😬

Freezer rummage again today, roasted tomato soup with the last of my bread for lunch.  Vension steaks for dinner (SM and not local deer so not so tasty, the YS did help 😁) with the last portion of red cabbage also from the freezer and mash potatoes and green beans.  I've LO mash as I needed to use some up so will be have mash the next couple of days

    Raining, dull & 'orrible outside

I have to update my Asda delivery now they have at last reduced some of the veg to 19p. I know it's15p elsewhere, but I'm not running around just to save 4p

My puncture turned out to be a “Leaking rim” which will need either refit the tyre, cheap option, or replacement wheel & tyre dear, corroded wheel / tyre beading option :o . I'll leave it until after the holiday period before I start finding out what it is from tyre shop.

Lunch, last of the finger rolls with cold LO roast lamb
Dinner, more LO roast lamb, like Brambling I have LO mash, so maybe nuke or bubble & squeak it with LO broccoli that to go with it

I foresee slow cooker lamb curry in my future ;)

    Good morning everyone,
Physio was very painful physio session. I had noticed my back twinging and stiffening over the weekend and by Sunday night it was really quite painful and no better yesterday morning. I was so glad I already had my routine appointment booked for yesterday and could get it seen too. The area is very tender today but I'm definitely moving easier. I have no idea what I did to set it off. DS2 has deep cleaned the conservatory and has a dump run booked for today. Just need to buy a tree now and pin up the ceiling lights. I've ran all the glasses through the dishwasher and will do the same over with the serving dishes and other bits over the next couple of days. My sister is coming for dinner on tonight and then leaving Ari with us until Friday as she is away with work then seeing my nephew on Thursday evening.
Fridge bits for lunch and I'm making this Chicken, Bacon & Leek Cottage Pie Recipe | Tesco Real Food for dinner though using chopped streaky bacon and homemade mash.
  • Temp plummeted overnight and we have a heavy frost here this morning, but the sun is shining so cant complain.

I went to the fish shop early and stocked up the freezer with a fillet of smoked, an unsmoked and a piece of salmon, they are closed from Sat through to the 4th so that’ll keep me going over the holidays. Also picked up a pack of pigs in blankets from the local butcher, a dozen in a pack and they look a bit meatier than the SM ones - probably keep me going until Easter  :D

Just had a piece of fruit for breakfast and I fancy a fried egg softie for lunch. I’m defrosting a portion of curry sauce, the last of the uncooked prawns and some peppers for tea. Also found half a naan in the freezer so that will also get used up tonight. So happy to see a bit of wriggle room in the freezer.
