  • My usual toast and Marmite for breakfast. I have been cleaning up a bit so I feel quite warm and have the windows open.

I put up a few xmas decorations last night. I don't really have that much at all. I had forgotten until I saw what I had put in the attic from last year.

My First Direct regular saver matured so I set up another one. It is only £300 a month that you are allowed to put in. I need to look at the savings rates of other banks. I have been meaning to do that for ages!

Dull & drizzly damp, nothing to rush out & enjoy it

Brambling, if you are trying bread mixes, Asda have a Wright's one at £1.15, cheddar & sun dried tomato. It's lovely.
My youngest GD was frightened of Santa as well, hated the idea of someone creeping into her bedroom, so arrangements had to be made for him to leave her presents on the landing outside her room ;)

Lunch, fish fingers I think, I have three left in pack which I want gone for freezer space
Dinner, maybe frozen pizza or maybe frozen salmon fillet + salad, pizza at the moment, lazy & comforting with this weather

I realised last night I've not got any mince pies on my shopping, need to correct that before I finalise them. I used to make them, but CBA these days for the half dozen or so I'll eat. CFO

    Good afternoon everyone,
    Lovely looking loaf Brambling
My sis has just collected Ari, she said her evening at Dumfries House was everything she could have wished for.
DS2 was late getting home after hitting a slow moving traffic hold up following an accident on the way home. We've decided to have a quiet one today and start the Christmas cleaning etc. tomorrow.
LO savoury mince and a poached on toast for lunch. Chicken wings with HM wedges and salad for dinner.
  • Finally a day suitable for hanging some washing out, bedding, towels, etc all got a good blow.

I love a Christmas mince pie, the coop luxury ones were voted best out the SM ones, I bought a pack a few weeks ago and they are expensive at £2.75 for 6, but absolutely jam-packed with fruit and a nice buttery pastry.

Lunch today was smoked mackerel, horseradish mayo, tomatoes & crusty bread. I really enjoyed the scotch egg I had a couple of weeks ago, sainsbobs TTD, so I picked up another earlier this week and will have it hot for a change with some AF chips.

  • That loaf does look good Brambling.

MIA yesterday as day off work to do Christmas shopping and catch up a bit. Catching up included on sleep with a lovely afternoon nap after two rubbish nights of sleep. Went out for supper with a friend last night, which was lovely.

I had washing out today Need2be but it didn’t properly dry so it’s on an airer in front of the radiator…

Had scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toasted bagel for lunch after a gentle swim.

Just about to have wine and tapas with the strictly final 😋🥂💃🏽

I'll have to see about a Asda order in the new year and try this 🙂. My youngest nephew (baby's uncle) was the same, presents had to be left on the landing, he freaked out at being told Santa had a magic key because they had no chimney.  It wasn't the look of him as his paternal grandfather had thick white hair and beard and a rather rotund shape and spent a lot of time this time of year getting stared at by children and if accosted asking if they had been good  🎅 he always played the part if stopped 😁

My sister and I went to the cafe at the local strawberry farm for Breakfast today 😋 and put the world to rights. No lunch required and dinner was roasted vegetable lasagna from the freezer with salad whilst watching strictly.

i had a achy night last night after the osteopath so had a nap this afternoon which is probably why I'm still awake

  • Same here JKS, the washer/dryer was here when I moved in but I prefer to hang it out when I can. It was mild enough last night to dry without even having to use the heated airer.

Well Steve Wright just ruined my “Whamageddon” run this morning, I usually get to about the 20th but it was already playing when I returned from the kitchen with my coffee  :'(

Lunch will be a repeat of yesterday to use up the smoked mackerel and I’ll do a chicken pot pie for tea with a good helping of green veg - translation = whatever needs using up.

I did some laundry last night as well. It didn't dry on the airer so I just put the heating on. I washed my hair as well and I hate having wet hair when I'm cold. It is at least sunny today.

I watched the new Reacher yesterday on Amazon Prime, only the first 3 episodes are out. I miss Jack Ryan as I watched that around this time last year.

I have had a banana and a packet of crisps as I forgot to buy more bread in the shopping!

Dull, dry & grey this morning, not inspiring at all, but I only have one more Christmas card to complete & that bit's done. I was hanging on for address confirmation, in case you were wondering why one left over.

I tried out one of the Christmas cheeses, Cheddar & cracked black pepper, ooh it's lovely, now I have to add a replacement one on my list

    Lunch, toast, and something
Dinner, full on roast lamb, the leg on offer, today is last Use By so may as well have a yummy warm kitchen with a proper Sunday Roast, plus Lamb dripping a plenty for back to the 50s bread & dripping

    Good morning everyone,
Wild and wet here today. DS2 is heading out to finish his Christmas shopping and I want to finish the "catering" list. All the main bits are in so nobody will starve if I forget anything! I'll see how the day goes and might do my wrapping. As we do a family Secret Santa there's not masses to sort out thankfully.
LOs for lunch and I've sliced veal defrosting to make schnitzel for dinner. I've a turkey drumstick to cook as the basis for our Christmas Day gravy so will sort out that too.
