A far nicer day here today, however we do have a four day yellow warning of snow & ice that comes into effect from 9pm tonight - not happy!!! the only White Christmas I want to see involves Bing Crosby & Danny Kaye. (Blah Humbug No2)
I’m having a very lazy day, only essential chores being done and a bit of pampering; pedicure done and I'll give myself a manicure this afternoon.
Just some picky bits for lunch, crusty bread, olives, ham, fruit. Then I'll do some macaroni cheese & pickled beetroot for tea.

Still wet and windy here.
Well that’s me done with work until 2 January. Surprisingly calm and quiet day but then I was wfh…
On a mission to use everything up before heading off to visit family so beans with toast and a fried egg for lunch. New potato, carrot and sausage pesto traybake tonight, also chucked in the last of the spring onions. The rest of the carrots were roasted with cumin while the oven was on, they’ll go in the freezer when cool. I also sautéed some mushrooms that have gone in the freezer.
That leaves two eggs and a serving of mushrooms for brunch tomorrow 😉0 -
Quiet day workwise I am working next Thursday but just keeping an eye out for any issues as it is end of year and our system is used by finance. I did work until 5pm as I had a long lunch to see the osteopath but TBH I was that busy. The osteopath told me I need to probably have a X-ray on my hip as he is convinced it is arthritis and whilst he cab loosen the muscles etc he can't fix that. He was not impressed by my ladder incident and can feel I've set back what he had previously done. Maybe my bois trying to tell me it's time to retire 🫣
late lunch of avocado on toast with prawns. I didn't fancy my planned dinner so the last of the mash potato made into a couple of potato and cheese scones, and AF them

Sun trying hard to break out, DGD is coming South today, so it'll seem like a tropical island compared to weather she is leaving behind near Aberdeen. She only has to get through the zillions of people making their own journeys.Made my Christmas trifle yesterday, and sampled some already, but I'm out for Christmas meal so that's why, my once a year treat. But checking prices, I think buying a ready-made would be cheaper, but not as nice or chemical free.Made a fresh overnight loaf, which will do me for the holiday period I expect.Lunch, fresh bread salady sarnieDinner, another salmon fillet defrosting, this time it'll be with salad for dinner tonightEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Yes, the sun is sort of out here and it has finally stopped raining.
Just had brunch of scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toast.
That’s me done with CFO until after Christmas so I’ll wish you all a very Merry Christmas 🎄0 -
Good morning everyone,
Still wet and horrible here.
Long "to do" for today as didn't get a much done yesterday as I hoped my sis got held up and didn't pick up pooches until late afternoon. My sis and I had a lovely relaxing evening. It's seldom just the two of us. We watched the Hairy Biker's Christmas show. I think we both must have had something in our eyes!
LO salad etc. for lunch and gammon steaks for dinner.
I'm not sure how much of a chance I'll get to post for a couple days so I hope everyone's plans come together and you all have a lovely Christmas.

Yes Farway she’ll be glad of the warmer weather. Its not too bad where I am but north and west Aberdeenshire looking very festive going by some of the photos and driving warnings on local facebook.
I am also visiting family for Christmas lunch but miss all the leftovers so I am cooking a small turkey crown for myself so that I too can indulge in the sandwiches, curry, pie, soup, fricassee, etc, etc, etc.
Ham salad for lunch and a chilli con carne with baked potato this evening.
I too will take the opportunity to wish everyone a joyous time with family and friends over the holidays.Jan - Mar Grocery spends = £225.20

I have had some clementines and some cherry tea I picked up from Aldi the other night. I'm about to have my usual toast. The new washing machine is being delivered this afternoon, hurray! I think I will do the bed covers when it gets here.
I am cooking for two later and I'm going to have vegan fish fingers and chips in the AF and have mushy peas with mine.
I was reading on here about what people are having for Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve, I didn't realise people had anything special on that night.
I remember going over to my Gran's house on xmas eve when I was about 5 and she had done a buffet. I'm not sure if that is tradtional or not. That does sound quite good, though so I might do us a "picky bits plate" tomorrow night. I have guac, salsa, carrots, pitta bread and I will see what I can get out of the freezer. I think I have "chicken" bites. Did I buy veggie sausage rolls in the end? I have to check. I might buy some cucumber and olives today. I could make houmous and put in the sun dried tomatoes, hmm...2025 GOALS

.Wednesday i have never none anything special for Christmas Eve i usually have something which won't leave me with any LOs as they won't get eaten. If I think about it i sometimes get something like a steak or prawns but like to keep it light. When we were kids my parents would be getting organised cooking the gammon or preparing the veg so it would often be a picky meal although we weren't allowed to touch any food assumed to be for Christmas
Waitrose was delivered all present and correct although I did worry as I didn't get a email and the money wasn't charged until a half hour before the delivery time. I was listing what I needed to get to make my contribution to Christmas 🫣 TBH if the naughties hadn't arrived my waistline would have appreciated it 🤨 at least it meant I could avoid any shop today and do some last minute Christmas tidying
cheese on toast for lunch with piccalilli. Pasta with a few prawns and the tail end of salmon in a creamy sauce for dinner
I'm about tomorrow cooking stuff to take to my sister on Monday, Happy Christmas to those who are travelling to family and may all journeys be stress free, Farway I hope you GD gets home ok, can she fly into Southampton?Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin1 -
