Late log in today, helping a friend click & collect a microwave at Asda, followed by mooch & a hot chocolate in Marks. YS time in Marks, MFO roast pork dinner, plus normal price chicken quarters and sorely missed frozen mixed veggies, I find the Marks ones are far better than other makes, cost more of course.Lunch was last of bacon off cut pieces AF & in a sarnieDinner, the MFO roast pork mealEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Much milder again here today, got away with just my oil filled radiator in my home office rather than the central heating.
Had a portion of the batch cooked nutty sweet potato stew for lunch. Just had early tea of beans with toast so that I can swim later (will have to force myself off the sofa and out of the door 😂)…0 -
It's good she warned you Wednesday a lot of people would just walk away, is your little dog yappy as the noise will defer some wrong doers
I like this time of year at work quiet for another week before people remember it's the end of year!! I'm off tomorrow so was glad to clear my to do list ✅ just using up another holiday day as we aren't allowed to carry over, as I'm working Saturday II've a list of things to do including signing my will which seems a good idea to book at 9am it is usually a 20 minute journey but I have to get through town at rush hour / school drop off 🫣 no lay in for me until Sunday 😕
Pear, blue cheese and chicory salad for lunch with walnuts. LO beef and kidney with dumplings and veg for dinnerLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin1 -
I think she lived in the area near my house too Brambling, we hadn't noticed her before. I deliberately kept switching the outside garden light on a few times yesterday evening as I was thinking if there was someone hanging around again. I hate feeling like that.
My dog got picked up by the woman from the kennel just now as we are getting the flooring done today.
I might have just my normal toast for breakfast. It was quite icy when I let my dog out earlier but it doesn't feel that cold in the house.0 -
Another dull & damp underfoot morning, but that's December weather, at least no rain for the moment, more tomorrowI'm going to sort out my Christmas cards later this week, but it's getting daft now with postage costing more than the card!Lunch, open a tin of soup, or beansDinner, trying an Essentials cheese & tom pizza, but I'll add extra cheese. Normally I have the posher pizzas but thought I'd give the cheaper one a go.Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good morning everyone,
Hope the prowler was just a once off Wednesday.
Back to heavy ice and very cold this morning though is supposed to be the last of this cold snap.
Chaos rules here, though less chaotic than it could have been as Ari didn't stay over as my sister's meeting got rescheduled. He's coming tonight/tomorrow instead. That said Hector and Frank are in full whirling dervish mode! Hopefully they'll tire themselves out soon. I should be doing admin bits today but doubt I'll get enough peace to concentrate. It's nothing that can't wait a day or so.
The lemon, mustard, black pepper marinade was gorgeous definitely will make again. I cooked far too much chicken so plenty of LOs so I'll probably freeze them for a future meal. HM soup again for lunch and pasta tonight with a chorizo, pesto and tomato sauce.

Trying to get on with a few domestic chores but keep getting distracted by what is cringe but addictive viewing of the covid inquiry.
Shop bought scotch egg for lunch, haven't had one of these for ages so looking forward to that with some salad and pickle on the side.
The infamous CFO statement - small amount of cooked chicken to use up, so I’ll bulk it up in a risotto with a solitary mushroom that’s rolling around the veg tray and some asparagus.

Long day of meetings but fairly productive ones and got a few bits done in between times.
More parsnip and butter bean soup for lunch. Made a quick prawn and broccoli Thai green curry with noodles after swimming tonight.0 -
Lots of running about this morning it was a nice dry sunny day other than 3 miles of fog. Signed my will at 9am then off in the opposite direction to pick up a couple of items from the office before it closes, a few bits from the large Waitrose next door then as it is in the same direction the farm shop and art supply shop to raid their seconds corner for a Xmas present (the person knows it's seconds but for the sake of misprints on the cover they get twice as much) it wasn't all seconds 🙂
My hip which hasn't been happy since the driving to Northumberland complained at my 50 miles of driving by the time I got back to town so I decided to make a appointment with a osteopath who was recommended to see if they can help before going back to the doctor which will be 6 weeks to get a appointment. After a chat he thinks he can help with the stiffness in my right hip so maybe I can stop swearing putting on that sock!I topped up on proper bacon and sausages at the FS so bacon roll for lunch. Cod florentine for dinner using cod from the freezer, with new potatoes and broccoli.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Another rainy day ahead, mild, windy & gloomy sums it upOn the plus side, I chanced my luck & made a Madera cake yesterday, which has turned out very well, another of the bung it all in & whizz it up & bake recipes I loveOn the minus side, the cheapo Essentials pizza is not as nice as the posher one, so I'll go back to the posh one for an extra 36pLunch is cold LO cheapo pizzaDinner, the Marks chicken quarters, roasted, plus salad. Salad may be a silly option with the weather, but it'll soon be compost if not used.
