  • Another cold but sunny,at times, morning here. There are quite a few showers falling out over the sea though nothing been dumped here ….. yet.

Got a pot of broth on the go which should be ready soon for my lunch. I’m still working through my freezer stock and tonight's concoction uses up turkey meatballs thrown into a sweet potato & coconut curry sauce, sides have yet to be decided at the moment I’m fancying some AF chips.

I’m not going out either just a bit of tidying and cleaning being done in preparation for putting up some decorations at the weekend. May start writing my Christmas cards and getting things organised to post to NZ.

  • It feels very chilly today. I need to pop out to the pharmacy as it was very busy both times I went in yesterday. I'm going to try a different one.

I have had toast and Flora and a cup of tea with almond milk.

I am going to try one of the other "chicken" fillets I bought in a toasted pitta bread with lettuce, tomato and I will mix mayo and hot sauce to make a dressing.

It is meant to be very cold tomorrow and I am off to the hospital to have what I hope is just a minor procedure in the morning.

If we had snow Farway it was before I looked out but it's been very cold today, the car said 4 when I went out lunchtime and 3 when I went out at 6pm. I was manually fiddling with the heating timer yesterday evening and left it off rather than timer so it was a very cold house when I reluctantly got out of bed, I had a moment of panic when I thought it was my boiler not working so glad it was human error, I had problems feeling warm all day 🥶  I got my heated throw out tonight his lordship is 😸

trip to pet shop lunchtime to use a voucher dated today, he's sorted for the next 6 weeks and I saved £1.50 🙂. Waitrose tonight to also use vouchers 😁 and get my F&V and milk I also got some YS salmon, I do like their cooked salmon but refuse to spend £6ish for 2 pieces when it's frequently YS and freezes well, tonight it was £2 for a pack of two so I brought 3 for the freezer and some mixed seafood for £1, with a £1 voucher off rump steak it was a expensive looking shop  :) my veg was brought around some YS as well so I may tweak the menu plan. Still no tenderstem broccoli  :/

Tomato soup from the freezer for a quick lunch.  I made a quick microwave risotto when I got home from SM and used the seafood with some mushrooms

I hope the procedure goes well tomorrow Wednesday

Up early, couldn't get back to sleep after loo trip.
Must have been very cold overnight because the heating was on when I got up at 0530, I have the thermostat on 12C overnight, just in case I find myself on the floor, at least I won't have hyperthermia!
A very hard frost outside, no idea how cold but it looks very chilly

Actually had a cooked breakfast this morning for a bit of warming comfort food.
Lunch, more hot food, mushroom omelette is planned. Which reminds me, eggs seem to have gone up again, just short of £3 a dozen, large FR, this time.
Dinner, had thought about salmon salad, but may change my mind & go for a hot ready meal for one

  • Bitterly cold this morning, much like the rest of you we’ve had a really heavy frost during the night which I don’t think is likely to lift at all today.

I wont be going too far this morning but I need to go and get some cash at the bank, something for tea from the fish shop, oh and I might just pop in to see what the wine shop has on offer  B)

Porridge and stewed apples for breakfast this morning, lunch is another bowl of the broth I made yesterday, three portions went in the freezer - as you may have guessed I find it hard to make small quantities of soup :D

  • It was very frosty when I left home this morning and then I thought it was snowing as I left the hospital after the appointment! It turned out to be sleet as it has all melted now. The procedure went well and the cervical polyp had gone so I was only there about 15 minutes, thankfully!

I have had a banana, toast and a cup of tea.

There was sleet all the way home which was about 30 minutes walk and now as I'm home the sun has come out!

I really like the mittens I bought as my hands almost got too hot and sweaty on the way back. They really make a huge difference to how warm I feel. :)

I will probably have soup and a roll for lunch.

    Good morning everyone,
    Glad all went well Wednesday.
Another very cold one! DS2 has been sending pictures of the snow in Newcastle his car was covered this morning. He said the drive to work on untreated roads was quite hairy!
I need to phone the library as my library card seems to have expired so I can't use the Libby e-reader which will never do! Not that I don't have a stack of actual books I could work through I find the Kindle kinder on my hands.
Tesco not due until later so my plan is to have a thorough hoover and mop making the most of not having a daft dog to help!
Last night I made a sausage and bacon casserole using up the few spare bits from assembling the pigs in blankets. LOs for lunch. I've a portion of raw beef ham (thinly sliced beef top rump) defrosting for tonight I'll decide whether to braise or flash fry it later. I've a tub each of newly made  lamb and chicken stock in the fridge so need to get them reduced and frozen. I'll probably sort out the chicken today and the lamb tomorrow as it was made first. I do hope I can find freezer space!
  • Gosh, it’s cold again. Sneaky day off today in between various social things so did a bit of Christmas shopping. Was out over lunchtime but couldn’t be bothered queuing for the M&S cafe so bought a festive sandwich and ate it in the car 🙃

I’ve done a small food shop and put petrol in the car this afternoon as I’m driving to meet friends tomorrow.

Quick and easy pesto pasta with peas and prosciutto tonight. That’s a lot of p’s 😂

Surely it's pointless making small quantities, or that's what I tell myself  :# although I suppose if I wasn't CFO it wouldn't be a issue 🤷‍♀️

I was the team at work today so just as well it was quiet  :) I was a little annoyed as the 'drop everything this needs to be fixed' request which now needs testing and signing off before going into live is still waiting for the person who threw her toys out of the pram to do this, 3 days after we handed if over to her, obviously not as important as she told us 😡 just as well it's Friday

Cheese and coleslaw roll for lunch. I used some LO mashed potato dinnertime to make a potato farl with added cheese, spring onion and chilli and popped a poached egg on top, nice easy lazy meal

I know and it doesn’t seem to taste the same in smaller quantities, it just takes up so much space in the freezer.

Lovely sunny but cold morning, clear skies and the heavens put on a fantastic show last night, its been years since I’ve seen the Aurora Borealis, its fascinating the colours that show through.

It’s the farmers market this morning so I’ll go for a wander up to the town square to see what's available. I picked up some locally produced raw honey last month it was pricey but so good I’m desperate to get some more.

Warming cinnamon coconut porridge with stewed apples again this morning, I fancy square sausage and fried onions in a bun for my lunch, but not sure about teatime I’ll see if anything takes my fancy at the market.
