Dull & damp first thing, not inspiring at all, looks very much a curl up & watch TV or read sort of day

Dinner was therefore toast and blackcurrant jam 😋 I do like the Lidl blackcurrant jam it reminds me of the more expensive Bonne Maman and is a similar jar, but not as good as my mum's 😋
Funnily enough I have just discovered Bon Maman apricot conserve, it was on offer, crammed full of apricot chunks, I had some in my porridge this morning, not quite fresh fruit five a day but a fair & tasty compromise in this weather ;)

Lunch, I opened a tin of salmon yesterday so it's tinned salmon & cuc sarnie
Dinner, maybe the MFO frozen Chicken masala I never had yesterday?
Lots of never did it yesterday, including making a ginger sponge pud thing, I even got as far as getting the eggs & treacle out before I decided to leave for another day.

  • I like Bonne Maman jam.

I had to cancel my reflexology appointment as the workman doing the plastering took out our electricity! It is fixed now apart from one bad socket that needs replacing.

I have had a small bottle of coke and some hula hoops! Very healthy.

    Good afternoon everyone,
Yes wee is definitely better than fox poo Brambling!!
Not long back from physio, painful but worth it.
Made up 100 pigs in blankets yesterday, that should just about cover it lol....
LOs for lunch and tonight it's spicy corn chowder with cheese nachos. A Nigella recipe I used make quite a lot but can't think when I last did so looking forward to it.
  • Wednesday2000 said: I charged them for about half an hour and they cooled down so quickly. I have to read the info on Amazon to see if I was supposed to charge them for longer as the instruction booklet didn't really explain.

I instead wore some mittens I bought from Amazon and they were lovely and toasty coming back last night.
Thanks Wednesday, I do have a good pair of gloves but may have a look for some of those hand/pocket warming items that hill walkers use.

I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty my aubergine/bolognaise concoction was last night, I’ll never be able to replicate that combination but don’t you just love it when a throw together works out well.

Cinnamon porridge with sliced banana & honey for breakfast today and although I’m loving my soups at lunchtime had salad leaves that needed using so tossed them up with some radish, feta, olives and beetroot.

Went for a jaunt to the city; well the outskirts, took advantage of B00ts discount on some perfumes to give myself a treat and with Sainsbugs being practically next door did my weekly shop there, with a few treats thrown in :*

Chicken and leek filo pie tonight with some cabbage & brussel sprouts on the side.

A lot of my cooking falls under this criteria tasty but unable to duplicate as I tend to be a throw together and taste cook or don't i have a ingredient so substitute 🙂

Another bad nights sleep for me I'm blaming the nap i had yesterday evening, I was still awake at 3am than woke again at 6am just to snooze until the alarm 😴😴

A usual work day but just the one meeting 🙂 after work I tackled under the stairs I usually start at the front and get bored with it before I reached the back, so I pulled everything out and decided as i had forgotten what was there it could be gotten rid of, some in bin and some on free FB page.  When my hip complained the front stuff did get thrown back in and the door shut, I will return asi fear what May fall out when I open the door

I pressured cooked lamb shanks lunchtime using port as I didn't want to open a bottle of red.  The sauce and veg (onion, carrots and celery) was blitzed once the fat was skimmed after it cooled

lunch was the second scotch egg i made yesterday with salad.  Dinner was lamb with mash potato and veg and the blitzed sauce

  • I’m very happy with the various Lidl jams I have tried. Sure it counts as 1 of your 5 a day Farway - I count the grapes in wine on bad days 😉

Wet, cold, grey day here but was in the office and barely saw daylight. No meetings but the day seemed to get taken up with silly annoyances…

My leek, pea and mint soup was lovely with a cheese topped roll for lunch. Made a creation tonight (they are a very CFO thing aren’t they?) - orzo cooked in chopped tomatoes, garlic, dried basil with the end of a jar of roasted peppers and the end of a pack of feta. Was yummy. There’s a portion for lunch tomorrow but after that probably never to be repeated in quite the same way!

Sunny at the moment but still nippy.
Would be a good day for a hearty warming CFO “creation” but until my Asda delivery tomorrow I'm on frozen meals today. If I had a pressure cooker Ninja or similar, I could make a stew thingy using some frozen meat, but I don't have one.

Also down to stale bread now, I'll make a fresh loaf overnight tonight
Lunch is therefore stale bread crust toast, topped with grilled wrinkly fresh toms & nuked LO beans

Dinner, something from the freezer, I have some Essentials breaded white fish fillets, which I bought to try & IMO are very inferior fodder. So will possibly use them up with some frozen oven chips, leaving more space for Asda delivery tomorrow.

I went through years of broken sleep, disrupted sleep patterns due to horrors of neighbours and I found the sleep teabags (big brand company) helped me get back to a routine. They have quite a range of flavours but I prefer the spiced apple & vanilla with camomile & passionflowers, @sda often have them on offer.

It’s a chilly one today and threat of the white stuff on the way, yellow warning for snow and ice from 5pm tonight. I’m not normally a chilly-billy but I think I need to up the heating thermostat a degree.

Brekkie was mashed banana on toast, followed by a pear. I noticed a smallish pack of garlic sausage in Sainsbobs yesterday and couldn’t resist it remembering how much of it we used to have at buffets way back in the 70’s and early 80’s. So planning a “pickie” lunch of cold meat, cheese, crusty bread, olives, slaw and beetroot - just hoping I enjoy the sausage as much as I remember  :)

Lazy CFO evening meal of shop bought tortellini and I’ll roast some courgette and peppers to go with it.

    Good morning everyone,
I love a good bung it in dish!
Very cold here this morning, still hovering around freezing and due to go to -6C tonight. I don't think this morning's frost will lift much before it gets dark.
LO chowder for lunch and tonight I'm making a mince round (double puff minced beef plate pie). I cooked the filling yesterday and will use ready rolled pastry so nice and easy. We'll have it with mash, veg and gravy.
  • It is sunny here, but chilly and meant to get colder later. The heating is on!

I have had some blueberries and water and a ginger shot.

I bought a baguette yesterday in Stratford that I am going to heat up in the AF in a minute.
