    Good morning everyone,
Thanks for the good wishes re the book, book two is planned and will feature Hector but whether it goes ahead will depend on how well the first one does.
And wee Frank for book three so he doesn't feel left out  :)

Because I had yesterday off I've been confused all day, it will be ok as long as I remember my meetings tomorrow 🙂 I have spent all day paying catch up which wasn't good as I only had one day off but I came in to 50 plus emails and finished with the urge to kill someone :#  tbh I think there is a queue 🙄 she's in Texas so at least we will get a couple of days break, the rest of us are giving thanks!  🙂

I decided to get ahead of myself lunchtime and made a bolognese sauce for dinner, heavy on the veg so plenty of LOs I chickened out of using the ninja pressure cooker function as there seems several ways and a lot of people tell you to brown off the meat and veg stir then before adding  stock, tinned tomatoes and purée on top but do not stir again until after cooked as the tomatoes can make it catch on the bottom. It seems you can break the spaghetti and add on top and let it all cook together ! Maybe next time when it's not the good mince 😁

Lunch was scrambled egg on toast (I seen to have lots of eggs 🙄) and a couple of spoonfuls of bolognese whilst cooking.  I had to pop out at 6 so it was nice to just have to cook the pasta when I got in for spaghetti bolognese

Brighter but gloomy if that makes any sense

Today is boiler service day, so here's hoping all is well and nothing expensive found

fresh loaf made, so once more it's salad sarnie lunch day
Dinner, I've taken a Pukka steak pie out to defrost, I just fancied pie & mash with gravy and today seems an ideal day

  • I'm supposed to eat that Asda curry I bought by today, but I don't fancy it. I might put it in the freezer.

I'm going to have crumpets and jam for breakfast.

    Good morning everyone,
Oh yes wee Frank will be book 3 though it's fair to say that Ari doesn't love Frank as much as Hector just now and of course they don't see as much of each other so Frank is always extremely excited when they do! They are fine if folk are there to keep an eye but I wouldn't leave the two of them unsupervised for more than a couple of minutes.
I've not had a great night couldn't get over to sleep and when I eventually did was very wakeful so shattered today.  Had plans hoover, dust and mop can't see all of these happening today unless I perk up later.
LOs for lunch and tonight it's yoghurt chicken curry with rice and naan.
  • Another Wednesday of three meetings but mostly productive so that’s good, also had some good catch ups in the breaks.

Afternoon meeting started at lunchtime and involved takeaway pizza 🍕 so have tried to atone a bit by swimming then having a bowl of Mediterranean lentils, spinach, roasted peppers and feta 😉

    Good morning everyone,
Wet and wild here. Feels much colder than it actually is.
Today I need to finalise tomorrow's Tesco order and get everything double checked for the club accounts audit which takes place tomorrow. I'm 99.9% sure everything is there but will check again for my peace of mind. :) I'm hoping the roofer I use pops by this afternoon to have a look at my front bay which is leaking at times. I suspect if it stays as wild he might postpone.
Fridge bit for lunch and pasta with sausage ragu for dinner.

We are exact opposite of course, sunny & mild, a bit of a breeze. I did wonder about the weather up there with DGD being near Aberdeen, and it does look wet & cold with more to come
Leaking bays could be just leaves blocking gutter or drainage, but whatever it will still need someone up there of course

Went up to Morries this morning, more to mooch than anything desperately required. The YS were very poor, hardly anything knocked off so best was wonky parsnips YS at 22p, which will keep for a bit
Plus some Yorkshire Blue to try, not YS though.
Our one & only greengrocer is getting Black Bomber cheese & some others from same stable in for Christmas, save me a trip to GC Old farm Shop while supporting local, he does deserve support he was one who stayed open & even delivered during Covid

    Lunch was fried egg sandwich
Dinner, cold LO roast pork, with LO mash & freshly opened tin of beans

  • Feel exhausted tonight, been another long week with lots going on at work.

Last portion of nana’s magic soup from the freezer for lunch with a cheese topped bread roll. Made a sort of hash/pan fry tonight with LO cooked new potatoes, chorizo, sweetcorn and roasted peppers, topped with a fried egg 😋

I remembered once I got to bed that I hadn't posted yesterday, definitely losing the plot this week 🫣

Same weather as Farway here but due to get a lot colder from tomorrow 🥶 I remembered to put the cover on my outside tap lunchtime will need to hunt out the cover for the windscreen tomorrow

After 4 meetings yesterday it was good to have no meetings today so I could write stuff up from yesterday, it did help that my manager was off today and it's thanksgiving for our American colleagues!

I made bread again this time trying a M&S packet mix, once I've got back into the swing of it as it's been a good few years since I've made bread I'll start doing it probably without buying the packs to see the difference but will keep one in the cupboard just in case. I preferred the taste of the Waitrose seeded loaf to this one but will try Sainsbury's next.  There could be one problem, my waistline especially as I have butter in the house  :# my jeans may regret finding the prove function on my ninja

cheese and coleslaw sandwich for lunch 😋 salmon en croute with green veg for dinner, the last pack of £1 Waitrose YS salmon en croute brought a few weeks ago, LOs for tomorrow

  • Good morning, hope you don’t me popping in, I do occasionally “lurk” around the OS board.

Farway its bl**dy cold here in Aberdeenshire and I hope your DGD has some good thermal clothing. We’ve got Northerly’s straight from the Arctic, daytime temp is to be at highest today 4 or 5 degrees but wind chill makes it feel like minus 1.

Even worse news - we are forecast for snow on the hills next week, likely to affect her more the me, but this could mean a very long winter this year  :#

My old boss who was from Oldham, worked in the Shire for many years but could never get used to the biting North Sea winds that chill to the bone. As we say - there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing.

Caroc - I love reading the news of your family pooches and hope your sister childrens book is a success.
Brambling - I haven't noticed any mention of “the cat that’s not your cat” maybe I just missed it but hope nothing awful has happened.

I’m still living the challenge that is “cooking for one” at the moment I’m working through my freezer stash so its hm green pea soup and toast for lunch and warming chilli for tea.

Hope you all have a good day.
