Back to wind & rain this morning, very dismal looking out
Farway - It was okay, nothing amazing, but quite tasty for a ready meal. They didn't have the spaghetti and veggie balls in stock which was annoying as that was the reason I got the offer. I have the sweet potato katsu curry in the fridge which sounds nice.

It is weird how popular katsu is these days, I hadn't even heard of it a few years ago.

Katsu is new to me as well, never tried it but may give it a go as part of the offer, I'd never tried Thai curry but once I did I quite like it

If the RM doesn't appeal Farway why not make your own using a tin of lentils for ease?

Thanks, but it's the lentils that are the yuck part for me :s, I think it was ages on Ying / Yang and other weird fad diets in the 60 & 70s that did that to me

But it's curry day today! :)
Found a near date use up Lloyd Grosman Korma sauce, which must have been on offer given current price, I'll add some of my LO roast chicken and another near date use up pouch of microwave rice, dinner sorted

Lunch, another grilled cheese on staled bread toast day

    Good morning everyone,
Wet and dreich here today. DS2 has taken Hector to Glasgow for a soggy no doubt muddy dog walk with his Dad, DS1, DIL2B and Frank in Linn Park. I suspect Hector will need a bath when they return though hopefully his jacket will stop the worst of the much sticking.
While they are away I plan to hoover and change my bed, so much easier when not assisted by a cockapoo!
Made a stew last night with a small amount of turkey mince, brown lentils, onions, peppers and mushrooms. Had some with steamed baby spuds. A wee bit different from my usual mince and tatties but very tasty. LOs for lunch. I've a small piece of lamb defrosting to cook Ainsley Harriot's Soy Lamb with ginger rice from his "Meals in Minutes" book.
  • It is very easy to make lentil cottage pie. I was thinking that after I ate it. I just went to look to see if I still had my Pyrex casserole dish, but I think I donated it when I was moving house as I couldn't be bothered to wrap all my glass stuff in bubble wrap! I could make it without a dish anyway.

I was horrified to find a flea in my living room the other night. I haven't seen a flea in years, considering how many animals I have had! I religiously put the flea treatment on them on the 1st of each month. I think the cats must have picked it up when they were at the cattery. I vacuumed everywhere and then gave them another half dose of flea treatment.

I cleaned the filters in my vacuum cleaners yesterday as one isn't picking up dust at well as it used to and I was paranoid that fleas might have got in there. I did buy a Shark vacuum cleaner in the Black Friday sale yesterday. They are supposed to be good. My brother said he got one and he likes it. That is arriving tomorrow so I will use it all around the house again unless the filters have dried out by that point.

I fancy tofu scramble on toast today as people online keep talking about it. I have garlic, onion, peppers, spinach, courgette and tomatoes to go in it. I am going to have a bath, get dressed and make it before I go for a walk. The rain is meant to stop at 1pm here.

  • Going out to Christmas light switch on and friend is going to get food there. I think I’ll just have a drink and then going to make Delia Smith’s chickpea salad for dinner. I’ll have it tomorrow as well. I’ve never made it before so I hope it’s nice.

Yesterday's post was drafted not sent 🙄

it's been a wet day, typical as I had a hair appointment this afternoon.  My sister and I were going to lunch in town first but due to the rain drove out to a local pub instead, it was closed due to staff sickness so we came back via one next to the garden centre, being MSE dessert was a Bakewell tart from the shop at the garden centre with a cuppa at my sis before she dropped me off in town.

home via another cuppa at hers and a visit to Sainsburys, I had a nectar voucher for £5 off £50 if I used this weekend so I brought her half price leg of lamb (why aren't half legs ever on offer) I realised why I don't usually go Saturday evening :s no broccoli of any kind including purple sprouting, cauliflower or cabbage and no berries.  Waitrose is only across the road but all I got was the last savoy cabbage as they didn't have any either. I did use my weekly vouchers to get £1 off toilet rolls and 50p off milk whilst there

After lunch out dinner was cheese, crackers and a apple

  • Terrible night’s sleep last night and couldn’t get back to sleep after being awake stupidly early. Had an appointment in town at 9 a.m, which is usually early for me on a Saturday, stayed out and did both Lidl and Sainsburys. I bought normal broccoli in sainsburys, Brambling as none at all in Lidl and the tenderstem in sainsburys was the ridiculously priced Belvedere stuff 🙄

Home for brunch of bacon and tomatoes on toast then it was time to head off for my hair appointment. Was practically falling asleep when I got back from that and finally gave in and went for a nap. Woke up at 6.50 p.m. so my whole evening has been off. Finally felt awake enough to make prawn saganaki, ate it with broccoli and crusty bread while watching strictly on catch up, not as an impressive Blackpool show as previously imho…

Back in bed now so hopefully can get back into normal sleep routine 😴

Sunny but windy this morning, would be a nice day for a brisk walk if I could briskly walk

I've said before, I no longer get their vouchers, nor any from Marks, all very odd but then again I've not shopped there for a bit, but normally that is when the temptations appear.

Made a fresh overnight loaf, and realised I'm running out of bread flour so will top up for Christmas  next time I'm able to
Lunch, fresh loaf means salad sarnie time
Dinner, the roast chicken is still providing, cold back quarter of it, with HM AF chips & salad

  • I have had toast and Flora this morning and then I had a knock off Magnum from Asda!

I am going to go for a walk later to get some more steps in. I stayed up late watching this very disturbing show on a crime channel and I'm feeling sluggish.

My vacuum cleaner is arriving later, it says after 1.45.

The Sparks aren't always very useful but I do find the Waitrose get better if I ignore them for a few weeks, they usually just appear when I log into their site under my Waitrose, I no longer get a email from them each week.

Dry but grey here and windy, just a pottering day for me getting chores done around a cuddly cat.  I do have kitten envy as a friend has put FB pictures of their new Norwegian Forest kitten, she is a beautiful a blue silver tabby, they lost their 3  old cats within 5 months early in the year so a lot of pictures 😁 his lordship is safe, I may have kitten envy but then I think if all the gifts they bring in when young 🫣

Scrambled eggs on a toasted bagel for lunch.  I stir fried some vegetables and prawns with noodles for dinner with a sweet n sour sauce

  • Yep, dull, windy and occasionally rainy here - strangely mild though. Was awake too early again and have struggled to get motivated to do much. Did force myself out to clear the cobwebs after lunch and had a brisk 35 minute walk. Also treated myself to a bath with bath bomb, body scrub and posh moisturising oil 😊

Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toasted bagel for lunch. Honey and mustard roast salmon and new potatoes with broccoli tonight.
