They are cute. I can't remember if I said this but the woman who did my facial a few weeks ago has Ragdoll cats, they are adorable!

    Good morning everyone,
Awol yesterday as out for most of the day, first for brunch in Glasgow with the kids (very tasty eggs mornay) and then to a book launch. My sister has written a children's book based on her pooch's journey from Greece to Scotland. The launch went very well and the venue was very accommodating. There were  around 8 pooches in attendance who all behaved impeccably. Only downside was it was on the first floor and stairs proved trickier than they looked. I ended up having to be inelegantly hauled up the final step by DS2 and my nephew. Thankfully going down wasn't as nerve wracking!!
Tired today so a quiet one needed. LO's from Saturday's lamb and rice dish for lunch and refried bean wraps for dinner using up the last portion of refried beans from the freezer.
  • That is cool about your sister being an author.

I have had a cup of tea today as I am feeling ill from getting an Indian takeaway last night. It was very nice, but I ate too much!

  • Nice, productive office day and home at a reasonably sensible time, got stuck in traffic about a mile from home which was unusual.

Spicy parsnip soup with toasted pitta for lunch. Tuna, broccoli and sweetcorn pesto pasta tonight.

Done the essential bits of voluntary admin and hung the washing in so an easy evening in front of the tv for me.

Well done to your sister Caronc 👏

I had a day off today, I was due to meet my friend in Chichester but family stuff meant she unfortunately had to cancel  :/ a elderly frail parent and a new job aren't a good combination her mum recently spent 9 hours in a ambulance queue outside the QA hospital, your part of the world Farway

at least it stopped raining by about 9am having woke me up at 6.  I had to go into town to the bank as Sainsbury's rejected my card on Saturday it seems it is a common occurrence due to the bad internet connection in the shop 🙄 I was worried as I had to put in my pin and it rejected it twice.  I dropped a bag into the charity shop when I was in town and was tempted by 3 books on the way out, which wasn't the intention.  I came back to the car via M&S and got my broccoli and some berries which I couldn't buy on Saturday

Cheese and watercress salad for a late lunch.  I was fancying a jacket potato so tuna Mayo  jacket potato with the last of the watercress and some salad for dinner

  • I have had a coffee and some water. I had a craving for jam yesterday so I bought a jar of raspberry from the shop. I'm going to have some pineapple first and then two slices of toast with Flora and jam.

I have my rescheduled hygienist appointment today and the workman are coming back to see if the dehumidifiers have dried everything out yet. I have a Sainsbury's delivery later tonight too.

I watched my first xmas film yesterday which was quite nice so I might see if there is any other decent ones to watch today. Some of them are really bad, but you do get the occasional watchable one!

The sun made an effort & it started sunny but now clouding over.
Well done to your sister Caron, hope the book goes well, expecting a cartoon series on TV next as pooch on adventures

Brambling, I think ambulance queues are normal now, awful isn't it. Was it QA that had a record queue one year? It's all becoming normalised these days

It's boiler service tomorrow, I thought it was set for Thursday so just as well I'd set an electronic reminder

    Good morning everyone,
Thanks for the good wishes re the book, book two is planned and will feature Hector but whether it goes ahead will depend on how well the first one does. I'm sure it's against the rules so won't post the link etc. here but if anyone is looking for a gift for a 3-7 year old message me.  :)
I've various admin bits to do today and tonight my sis and nephew are joining us for dinner. Unless anything goes pear shape at the last moment my nephew moves into a flat share on Thursday. They were at Asda last night buying the various bits he needs, though it's fully furnished so he doesn't need much to move in with. For dinner I'm cooking a turkey & bacon meatloaf which I prepared yesterday so just side dishes to sort out later. Baked potatoes, bbq style baked beans and HM coleslaw).
For once there's no LOs for lunch so it will either be crackers and cheese or soup from the freezer.
  • Wfh day and actually got pretty much everything I wanted to done, plus a few curveballs batted away 😉

LO pasta for lunch and I’ve just had my Tuesday pre swim early tea of beans with toast. I expect there will be a snack with my cuppa watching bake off when I get back.
