I bought a candle and two bath bombs at the xmas fayre. It was quite busy at the church as they had a kitchen area with soup and bread and there were people just there for food.
Morrisons had no vegan food in the chilled or frozen sections, but Iceland was much better. I bought "chicken" fillets, breaded and spicy as well as VFC (like KFC) bites. I got two types of bean burgers to try too.
I think I overreacted with the layers of clothes as I was too hot in Iceland and had to take my jacket off!
I was cooking for two when I got in. I made veggie burgers and chips in the AF and I had a salad with mine.0 -
I didn't sleep well last night so it was a slow start today, I was allowed a lie in until 9am before his lordship demanded his breakfast and to be let out. There was still a hard frost so I pottered all morning, it took a couple of cuppas and long shower to get me moving
I needed a couple of bits as my sister was coming to dinner so waited until just after 1pm to go to Lidl as parking is an issue there.
LO fried chicken and coleslaw in a roll for an early lunch. Dinner was pork ribs which were in the freezer brought YS a few months ago with chicken wings, sweet potato fries, corn on the cob and coleslaw I did sneak kohlrabi into this one as well and let my sister eat it before telling her, she can be wary of trying things she hasn't eaten before she took the LO coleslaw home so it was a success 😁 I held off adding raw shredded Brussel sprouts as that would have been a step too far and harder to hide 🙄

Cold but a lovely bright day. Was awake far too early and didn’t feel like I’d slept particularly well. Had an appointment in town at 9 so walked to that and then on to Lidl (didn’t need much) and then home for a cuppa and Saturday Kitchen. Have done some voluntary admin, put a load of towels through the wash (and hung them out for a bit) and made soup for work lunches. Also had a nap after lunch 😉Lunch was spinach and ricotta tortellini with garlic mushrooms. Fresh (free) crusty bread with tapas bits while watching Doctor Who and Strictly tonight - perfect evening for me 🙃0

Hard overnight frost last night, which has finally finished off my dahlias. Looking dull & grey now, such a change from yesterday's sunshine. Wouldn't be surprised if it rained, but not forecast.DGD reports snow, settled on mountain top but not lower levelsNice bread smell this morning, overnight in the Panny again.I keep getting a hankering for ginger loaf / bread, not the sticky Jamaica type, more the school dinner one with custard poured over. Never made one, but I have spotted an easy chuck it in a bowl & mix it recipe on YT so hoping to try that soon as a change from banana bread.Lunch fresh bread sarnie, salad & salad creamDinner, Nuked, frozen, MFO chicken masala & rice

Good morning everyone,
Oh ginger sponge and custard, yes please Farway.
Frosty again overnight but cloudy now with rain forecast.
Ended up having a lazy day yesterday so need to crack on today, the pigs in blankets are still on the "to do" list.
We had Ari overnight and he's back again later as my sis is working in Glasgow tomorrow. Unfortunately when DS2 was walking him and Hector yesterday Ari managed to wee all over Hector's head and had to be bathed when they came back. DS2 was not amused!

Another sunny, fresh morning here, breakfast was a risky fried egg softie and thankfully no dribbles down my chin or front. Yesterdays soup turned out to be parsnip & carrot which means todays offering likely to be b/nut squash or sweet potato - both have a bit of heat to them with curry powder or chilli so I’m happy.
I have a fresh aubergine that needs using so thought I might try a cross between a lasagne and melanzane parmigiana which will rid the freezer of the last portion of lentil bolognaise, small portion of hm tomato sauce, small bag of grated mozzerella and a small chunk of parmesan all layered up.
Wednesday - I’ll be interested in how you get on with the heated gloves, I suffer with Raynaud’s syndrome in my fingers during the colder months so heated gloves might be the answer.
Farway - I think its later in the week that showers are turning wintery at lower levels, hopefully just sleet. I’m down at sea level so fingers crossed it wont reach me for a while.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

I instead wore some mittens I bought from Amazon and they were lovely and toasty coming back last night.2025 GOALS

I have had a smoothie and avocado toast this morning.
I am going to have one of the bean burgers I bought yesterday in a bun for lunch to see what they are like.
I have had the heating on for over 2 hours and still feel cold. I need to wash my hair too, I hate having wet hair when it is cold. I might have to use my hardly used hairdryer.2025 GOALS

A real grey, damp November day here. Glad I was out for Sunday lunch.
Did some bits of voluntary admin and stripped the bed before I went out. Load of washing done when I got back as the heating needed to be on so it could dry on the airer. Also did the few bits of ironing and remade the bed. Had a few of the LO tapas bits with a glass of wine while watching the strictly results.
And that’s another weekend over…at least it’s a short week coming up 🙃0 -

it's been raining most of the afternoon which probably explains why it is warmer than yesterday. A catch up day for me housework etc then this afternoon I finished my book and caught up on strictly, I still have to watch Dr Who JKS
I made a couple of scotch eggs using FS pork and leek sausages and had one for lunch with salad. I had planned to have lamb shanks for dinner tonight but a few bad nights sleep caught up with me and a dozed off, waking up after 7pm so too late to want to cook them even using the pressure cooker 🙄 especially as I hadn't taken them out of the fridge to come up to room temp. The irony was I was looking at recipes / timings to do them in the ninja when I dozed off. That's tomorrow sorted and probably Wednesday 🙂
Dinner was therefore toast and blackcurrant jam 😋 I do like the Lidl blackcurrant jam it reminds me of the more expensive Bonne Maman and is a similar jar, but not as good as my mum's 😋Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0
