  • I had a toasted bagel with flora for breakfast.

I bought these Tesco Plant Chef No Meat pies and I am going to try them when I get back. I will be cooking for two as my husband is off work for 3 months so he is at home. I will have one with chips, steamed veggies and gravy. Mmm.

The workman took up the flooring yesterday and it was taken away with the bulky waste so my garden looks relatively good now the patio has been fixed and my husband painted the decking.

The floorboards are in good condition so we could get them sanded etc.. I am going to get quotes from our usual workman and see if it would be cheaper to put down new laminate instead. The couple before had used a light grey laminate, but I think i would prefer a darker brown colour. I think it would suit the house more as it is old.

Frank is definitely causing worries poor thing   :|

Today was very much like yesterday although the piece of work we expected to take all day was finished by lunchtime 🙂 no complaints from either of us

  • Fairly productive wfh day, finally finished a task I have been trying to complete for a couple of weeks. Cheeky midweek day off tomorrow and having a day out 🙃

LO bacon and sweetcorn pasta for lunch. Beans with toast before swimming tonight. Apple and cheese with my cuppa whilst watching Bake Off.
  • Those no meat pies were delicious. I do like most of the Plant Chef stuff from Tesco. Less than £3 for 4 pies as well which is pretty good. I made some of those ready made jacket potatoes with them and I actually used the oven for once! I did have it professionally cleaned so I should use it. :D

I am making burgers (also Plant Chef) with fries, salad and corn tonight.

I am going to batch cook soup just for me for lunch for today and the next couple of days. Probably tomato as I keep craving it. Celery, carrots, onions, tomatoes, a tin of tomatoes, a tin of coconut milk, chilli powder, paprika and vegetable boullion stock.

I am about to go out in an hour as the rain is supposed to stop by then. I just had some toast for breakfast.

    Good morning everyone,
    Grey and chilly here today.
It might just be an admin-free day today unless some paperwork I'm waiting for is dropped off, for once I'm actually up to date!  :)  Do need to catch up on the sweeping/dusting though.....
LOs for lunch and tonight I'm making Nigel Slater's bacon and pea pasta.

OOPs, wrote yesterday but somehow failed to post it up, Doh :s

Tipping down first thing, but sunny now

I tried the cheapo Asda frozen pork sausages, and they are just what I was hoping for, Bready and not overpowering herbs, and for me a plus, they split when cooked in AF :o , just like every banger used to

The stewed blackberry & apples I took out to defrost were in fact just uncooked blackberries, so I've added fresh apples I had, own grown, and stewed them up first thing, cooling a bit now and I'll make a crumble later

Went to Morries yesterday & now have leeks, HM soup is planned one day soon

It's soup for lunch, tin of on offer Heinz vegetable
Dinner, found a mystery tub of stew / casserole in freezer with no idea when it went in, anyway I'm defrosting it for dinner, with the HM apple & blackberry crumble + OOD tin of lockdown Ambrosia custard

  • Day out today so tuna melt for lunch in a cafe. Just had a portion of the nutty sweet potato stew from the freezer with a toasted pitta.

    Nicely tired this evening 😊

my last day until Monday 6th I was telling everyone that Monday was the 7th until I put my out of office on.  Hygienist tomorrow then it's a play it by ear week, I want to do some decluttering I've far too much stuff gathering dust and out the garden to bed 🙄

Tomato soup from the freezer with a slice of cheese on toast for lunch.  Chicken and mushroom pie for dinner with mash potato and vegetables, i don't usually buy pie but fancied one when I saw it on offer a couple of weeks ago

Ah, I remember Millers, never see them around now.
I think the attraction back then, 60s 70s was sausages were used by butchers to get rid of rubbish meat and were normally full of gristle and odd gnarly bits with added sawdust off the butcher shop floor and stale crusts from the baker next door.
Millers & Walls used same rubbish meat but somehow hid the gristle & gnarly bits, kept the sawdust though, left out the stale crusts and now call them Gluten free for extra premium pricing

Had a rummage in the freezer to spot what else could be lurking, found a LO roasted chicken leg, now defrosting
Lunch, scrambled eggs on toast for something warming
Dinner, the LO chicken leg, with HM AF chips and maybe use up salad
LO Blackberry & apple crumble + LO tinned custard if space afterwards

    Good morning everyone,
I'd rather a bit of gristle than a very smooth sausage like Richmonds though I know a lot of folk like them. Exploding sausages always make me think of camping with the Guides, at least you knew the burst ones were more likely to be cooked through!
Aiming for a pottering day today, DS2 headed to site visit first thing so just me and Hector until this evening. I need to finalise my Tesco order and look out logs bags to hand back tomorrow when the new delivery arrives.
LO pasta for lunch and I'm trying out this green lentil curry with added aubergine tonight Green Lentil Curry Recipe | Vegan Curry Recipes | Tesco Real Food
