Nice gift from Asda Farway
Quiet day again 🙂 I worked 8am - 4pm as I had a appointment in town at 5pm, and I needed to return something to M&S as well. I did give a quick look for YS there was nothing I needed or worth having but I was shocked at the price of their chickens all their reasonable price birds8
My appointment was opposite the fish and chip shop and TBH I loitered outside tempted but seeing as it was just after 5.30pm talked myself out of it.
I did pop to Waitrose on my way home and used my £1 voucher off toilet rolls and 50p off rump steak but other than that just a little F&V and dairy was needed.I'm in the process of using up the scrappings of various jars so lunch was toast and marmalade to finish that off. Dinner was Mac n cheese after I got back from town with some baconLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Been a beautiful day here. Day off so load of washing dried on the line, meal planning and food shopping done, one fence panel treated with oil and some bargain supermarket plants potted up - nice bit of autumn colour and a shrub in a lovely pot I got for my birthday.
Creamy garlic mushrooms and fried egg on toasted bagel for lunch. Chorizo, chickpea and spinach stew with toasted pitta tonight. Portion of stew gone in the freezer 😀0 -
Nice & sunny here, a bit cooler but very pleasant at the momentBrambling said:My appointment was opposite the fish and chip shop and TBH I loitered outside tempted but seeing as it was just after 5.30pm talked myself out of it.I was watching a YouTube on Rick S chippy in Padstow, the F & Cs looked yummy but over £15 are definitely in the rare treat range. Long time since I bought some here, but I think it's in five to ten range, suppose it depends on sizeLunch is another portion of my fridge bottom soup, which turned out well. I may try HM AF croutons again, if I remember in timeDinner, defrosted cod fillet in crumbs with HM AF chips & frozen peasOnly task really is to complete my Asda orderEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

I need to do a Tesco order. It is still very nice weather here too.
I am having yoghurt and a toasted bagel for breakfast.
I got a lentil lasagne out of the freezer to put in the fridge so I will have that later for lunch with whatever I have left. Tomatoes and olives, I think.0 -
Good afternoon everyone,Slothful household here this morning, I didn't surface until 10am and DS2 & Hector didn't appear until after 11am!Another cuppa needed before I contemplate my "to do" list! I usually scrub the bathroom on Fridays but clearing the greenhouse took longer than I thought so it's one for today. I need to do some food prep for today/tomorrow but apart from that I'll see what the day brings.
I ended up making a sort of soupy chicken stew for dinner last night so some of that for lunch. More chook tonight - peri peri roast chicken crown with HM wedges, corn and coleslaw.0 -
I meant to say there was a fox in my garden early this morning. I heard it jumping over the fences and there were big paw prints all over the garden box when I went out this morning. It made a racket. Funny that I should suddenly have wildlife in the garden. I would prefer a fox to a badger anyway!
I just popped to Coop to get some steps in. It feels slightly cooler, but I'm still in a sleeveless dress.2025 GOALS

Foxes can get noisy certain times of the year when they have a 'friend' there's nothing quite like being woken up by a screaming fox 😯
I think it's about a tenner for a small cod and regular chips Farway I did think on holiday it was because we were a a tourist place but obviously not
i had a bit of a lay in but only until 9.15am which is unusual as the PITA I live with doesn't do weekends and likes his breakfast and to be let out at the same time every day. I'm not feeling 100% today I haven't been ill but my stomach hasn't felt right all day, so a nice stay home day for me.Slice of toast for lunch, I've skipped dinner but may try some cereal in a minuteLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin2 -
Nice relaxed day - bits of ironing done, been for a swim, ran an errand in town but not much else 😉
Lunch was spinach and ricotta tortellini with cherry tomatoes, sweetcorn and semi dried tomatoes. Had tapas/picky tea tonight, whilst watching Strictly 💃🏽0 -
Good morning everyone,
Hope tum is better today Brambling.
Dry (just) here just now, DS2 is busy fitting the deck guttering and down pipes. DS1 and DIL-to-be (and Frank) are coming for dinner. I've a shoulder of lamb defrosted, I'm debating whether to bone or leave as is. Roasties and Yorkshire puddings have been requested.
LOs for lunch.0 -
Nice sunny start, I went up to my volunteer place & did some potting up pansies with another volunteer, trying to get it looking nice for Remembrance dayBack in time for lunch, opened up the off cuts cooking bacon pack from Asda, another good lucky dip this week
, gammon chunks, ideal in a sarnie with my freshly made loaf
Because the off cuts bacon is really gammon I'm having the same for dinner, with eggs & chipsI've made a banana loaf with the past it bananas should I feel peckish latercaronc said:Good morning everyone,
