My weekend starts today as I'm off tomorrow, I have a early dentist appointment then I'm meeting my sister for breakfast although mine will be light as I'm still not eating a lot

My surgery missed their time line for my consult, just as well the pain is a lot better 🙄 although lunch gave me indigestion all afternoon and a grumbling tum so it's still not right

I hope you have a good weekend Caronc

just a slice of toast with low fat cream cheese rather than butter and a slice of gammon for lunch, I've not been hungry so no dinner maybe cereal before bed.

Sunny start with hot weekend ahead, I had to water first thing the plants in pots were drooping, and I have a cucumber in flower outside, all topsy-turvy, such a contrast with your weather Caron

Your tum does sound suspiciously like mine, Brambling. I'm beginning to wonder if latent Covid has got us?
I read that it can affect tums & internals, sometimes very badly. I never checked for Covid when I had shivers etc, just put it down as lurgy, but just a thought. Likewise, I'm carrying on regardless, but I don't work or need to get around so it's not too urgent for me

The vegan OMV "No Pork" sausages trial was a success :) , if I never knew I'd think they were meat based for texture, sort of the bready budget type, which is fine because I liked W8rose cheapo ones and these are similar texture
I'll get them again, but next veggie trial maybe Cauldron make, I used to like those but with "improvements" one never knows, mixed reviews make me wary

Lunch, repeat yesterday brunch, back pudding, eggs, veg sausages in AF and attempt fried bread in AF, croutons work well, so FB could be large crouton?

Dinner, more salmon, this time I'm using the farmed half side, but I'll cut into four fillets and freezing three
    With some salad

  • I'm just amending my Asda order so I will try those OMV sausages Farway. :)

We are going out today to the beach to meet a couple we know coming here from east London. We are going to a cafe and the pub. She is bringing her brother who is over from Ireland. They are from the place in Ireland that the rowers won gold in the Olympics, Skibbereen. I had a yoghurt and some water as we are eating early.

  • Phew, made it to the weekend 😅

Busy day but at home so did get a load of towels dried on the line, and did a food shop as soon as I finished.

Filled pasta, tuna, sweetcorn and sun dried tomatoes for lunch. Yummy steak, broccoli and blue cheese gnocchi tonight. Oh, and a 🍷

I should have made a medical banana cake Farway :) I haven't tested as I didn't suspect 🤔 I felt a bit warm Tuesday night but as I only have a meat thermometer in the house couldn't check my temperature 😁 will see what the weekend brings 🤷‍♀️

Dentist checkup today, my first since they went private so ouch 😣 I met my sister for breakfast afterwards and we walked down to the Swedish cafe (no idea of real name!) we were there five minutes early as they don't open until 10am and there was a little queue forming, when they opened the door we were met by a delicious smell of baking and cinnamon so breakfast was a freshly baked Swedish cinnamon bun (Kanelbullar) totally different from a English cinnamon bun/ Chelsea bun but so good we did stop at the one

Killing time before my sister arrived I lingered in the bookshop, no plans to buy new books but a few notes made of new books from favourite authors to look out for in charity shops 📚

I turned down the offer of a sandwich at my sister's for a late lunch and made soup for dinner to use up lurking veg, the very last of my tomatoes hiding in the fridge all week so really needed eating, roasted with shallots in the AF and a couple of bendy carrots and sad red pepper I had a small mug for a late dinner, not sure if my tum approved of the acid 🤔🫣

I had a vegan cheese, tomato and pesto panini and potato wedges at the cafe yesterday. Then half of two little vegan cakes. Oreo brownie and cherry bakewell flavours  Totally yummy.

I have had crumpets this morning and I'm about to have a yoghurt. It is very warm again today. Weird for October, but at least we are finally getting a summer!

Very warm & sunny, I was out firs thing watering up the volunteer spot, don't want the new pansies drying out. My DGD is training near Aberdeen, and I suspect along with Caron, is being drowned with the awful weather up there, Such a différance is very noticeable today

Hope you approve of the OMV sausages, Wednesday. Always nice to have an alternative option

Fresh overnight loaf made, lunch was cheese & slices raw onion sandwich
Dinner, at last I'm getting round to the fresh salmon fillet cut into four, with salad and rest of salmon into freezer

  • Turned into a warm, sunny day - very odd, far too warm for October 🤔

Went to have my hair cut this morning and have done a bit of ironing and a bit of voluntary admin but not much else today.

Tuna n sweetcorn mayo in a pitta bread with lettuce and pickled gherkins for lunch. Tortilla pizza with artichokes and Parma ham tonight, eaten with 🍷 while watching strictly.

I hope neither Caronc or your GD have been washed away Farway, it is certainly looking floody north of the border 🌧️ nice enough down here to get my washing dried, my bedding is planned for tomorrow

Having been to town yesterday I didn't need to go to town today and I've food not eaten last week to finish so a pottering day at home

lunch was the last of the gammon in a roll.  A mug of tomato and vegetable soup for dinner with another bread roll.  A small G&T for me while watching Strictly  💃

Sunny again, ideal drying day for those able to do so

Used my Asda half side of salmon fillet yesterday, I cut into six meal sized fillets, but four would give larger fillets of course, and I'll do this in future. Worth buying for me, cheaper to buy & slice than usual CFO packs
Give me idea for Christmas now, but will wait & see what offers turn up

Talking of which, I have booked my W8rose Christmas delivery slot for 24th, I may cancel but suspect I'll use it for posher items Asda don't have

Lunch, eggs, maybe omelette. Was going to scramble them for breakfast, but CBA
Dinner, I have an Essentials' pork shoulder joint, which they say could be roasted, but I've popped it into the slow cooker because I suspect it may need long & slow to bring out it's best
Given the sunshine, probably be served with salad not roast & gravy
