Glad you had a good weekend Caronc even if it got a 'little' wet! I hope the wobbling settles soon

The problem with good FS meat Farway is it spoils you for SM meat 🙂

We managed to finish on time tonight or it was more of a case of the boss suggesting we switched off and finished before anything went wrong and we got delayed again 🙂

last of the tomato soup for lunch with a roll.  I made a couple of scotch eggs using FS pork and leek sausages and had those for dinner with salad when it's still salad weather 🌞.   The temperature is meant to drop from 20 at the weekend to 13 on Monday, just a shame I'm working most the day Saturday until 8pm

just caught up on Bake off before bed, bread week certainly sorts the men from the boys  I'm not sure if the right person left but did approve of the baker of the week  :)

Dull morning, damp ground but not raining, maybe dew?

Journey back was a bit of a trek as the road was closed at Inveraray and we were diverted over the hill road to Tyndrum and down the side of Loch Lomond. Two and a half hours there, just under five coming back!

I know that route from back when I was working at Kyle, sometimes we used it just for a change of scenery on the way back to Glasgow airport, nice on a sunny day
I had toast with marg and Marmite and tried one of the OMV sausages. I had some orange juice too.

What did you think of them? I see they do other items in the same range which I may try

Hard getting up this morning being so dark & grey, more of a snuggle down with hot drink in front of tele day
Lunch, try another tin of Asda own soup, yesterday's Minted Lamb was OK, but I'll not get it again. It's oxtail today
Dinner, more of the LO cold roast pork shoulder, LO beans and maybe another jacket spud if I can find a decent sized one, otherwise it's frozen chips

  • I thought the sausage was quite nice. It tasted very meaty to me, which I assume is the idea! My husband liked them. I do like the veggie Richmond and the Heck sausages the best. The Heck ones are like chipolatas.

It is definitely cooler today. I have an appointment with the chiropodist later for a tidy up and my husband has his flu jab today.

I finally remembered to put the berry mix in the fridge overnight to defrost so I just had a smoothie.

I'm going to make HM soup (as it is finally not so hot) and have it with a houmous and salad sandwich for lunch.

    Good morning everyone,
Yes it is a lovely route Farway, just very long in comparison and with the road closures was very congested. Definitely not designed for huge lorries etc.
I don't seem to have quite got my "land legs" back so another day of endless pottering in a familiar environment and hopefully my brain will re-remember where my feet are and I can get a nodding acquaintance with walking in a straight line back!
Much cooler here today and while the forecast says it should be dry, we've just had a heavy shower.
Made a pot of "fridge gravel" veg soup yesterday so some of that for lunch today. I didn't cook a huge batch but should do us for a couple of days. Shepherd's pie tonight using up some cooked lamb shoulder LO from a roast a few weeks ago. I cooked the veg base yesterday while I was making the soup. Roasted a batch of homegrown tomatoes that had ripened nicely over the weekend so need to sort those out today. Still have a tray of green ones but hopefully most of these will ripen over coming weeks.
  • Ugh, is it the weekend yet? What a week…managed to resist the lure of a g&t and instead swam lengths to make me feel better.

Lentil, beetroot and feta salad with balsamic dressing for lunch. Had some of the yummy nutty sweet potato stew with toasted pitta tonight 😋

I can sympathise over work JKS I came off a call swearing and it was suggested after I let off steam to the boss that I have a tea break before sending a email 🙄 nothing like someone rewriting part of a document whilst you are away and then complaining about those changes 😡 I did log off just after 5pm the to do list can wait until tomorrow to be finished

Cheese on toast for lunch. Pasta with a vegetable and tomato sauce for dinner

  • I made such a nice root veg soup yesterday and I have two more huge portions for lunch today and tomorrow.

I had to walk to the chiropodist and back yesterday and it typically started to rain as I left my house and then again as I left the chiropodist to walk home. I had such a bad sleep (4 hours) and had to get up early as the workman is coming at 7.30. I feel very achy today as well.

I am going to sit upstairs and watch TV or a film while he is here as my dog will bark at him downstairs. I am going to take some fruit and a sandwich upstairs and just tell him to make his own tea himself if he wants it!

Dull & damp but not raining, that is due tonight

Just realised it is volunteer AGM this afternoon, maybe just as well because I have found a packet of cake mix that needs using, well it's five years OOD so probably useless, but I was going to try it out rather than bin it.

Big surprise in the post, loadsadosh for this year's Winter fuel allowance :) , I think I get extra because I'm older :/

I thought the sausage was quite nice. It tasted very meaty to me, which I assume is the idea! My husband liked them. I do like the veggie Richmond and the Heck sausages the best. The Heck ones are like chipolatas.

Nice to know, I've added Richmond to my shopping list for next week

Snap, with posh pickle on top
Dinner, last of the cold LO roast pork, and probably frozen chips because I may be back late from the AGM and CBA

    Good morning everyone,
Hope you both have better days at work today Brambling and JKS.
Drizzly here today but forecast for the weekend looks half decent although cold. Shame we couldn't have had that weather last weekend!
Seem to have got my balance back to something like normal (well normal for me anyway lol!) so hope to get the place at least hoovered if not mopped through, though it could do with both!
HM soup for lunch and yoghurt chicken curry with rice and naan for dinner.
  • Much better day, thanks caronc - still some nonsense but lots of positive stuff too 🙃

Beetroot, feta and lentil salad for lunch. Just had a yummy Thai green prawn and broccoli curry with noodles.

Very much looking forward to a wfh day tomorrow and then the weekend 🙌
