I don't think we were as cold as scraping this morning JKS but TBH I didn't look 😁 I know I was reluctant to get out of bed this morning as it was cold. Its forecast to drop to 1 over night with a cooler day tomorrow before getting warmer again for a few days so hopefully I can defer putting the heating on for another week, a thicker cardi went on today
My kettle died today tripping my electrics 🙄 I didn't want a very cheap one or a very expensive one which is all Argos and JL had if I brought today so I order one from Amazon which is meant to be delivered before 1pm. Tea doesn't taste right when the water is boiled in the microwave
I picked up my ninja in JL tonight but haven't set it up yet. Picked up milk in Waitrose when there including some UHT to try making yoghurt as it has a yogurt function
last of the minestrone soup for lunch, it was a soup day 🙂 LO chicken for dinner with coleslaw, jacket potato and sweetcornLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
I felt cold after I got in yesterday so we had the heating on for an hour, but then it seemed to warm up so I had a hot shower and felt okay sitting with just my blanket over my lap.
I am going to have some baguette with avocado and tomato for breakfast if the avocado is ripe.0 -
Sunny, cold & windy this morning, plus heating came on againBrambling said:I picked up my ninja in JL tonight but haven't set it up yet. Good morning everyone,
Happy new Ninja Brambling
My nephew is going with DS1 to view a flat share today. At present if he's on late close he's staying with DS1 & DIL-to-be which is fine short term but not ideal several nights a week long term week so fingers crossed . My nephew is working this evening but DS1, DIL-to-be and my sis are coming for dinner as DS1 want's to store some stuff in my garage.
First proper frost overnight and it's just beginning to thaw. It's supposed to warm up overnight tonight before Babete arrives!
HM pork and chorizo meatballs in a vegetable, orzo, feta and tomato sauce for dinner. I'll make a salad and I've a couple of garlic baguettes to have with it. LOs for lunch.0 -
The avocado still isn't ripe so I just had some baguette with marg. I went to Southend as I wanted to get my hair done so I went in to the salon and booked an appointment. I went to Superdrug too as I am running low on a lot of things. I bought some cold and flu sachets from there for winter as well. I forgot to buy B serum for my skin as it gets dry in winter. I have to go back to Southend on Friday anyway so I will get it then.
I felt quite warm on the way back as I walked it and it is sunny. It feels colder in my house as usual, though!
I'm going to have a tin of soup with some sourdough bread when I get hungry.
The window cleaner finally got back to me so he might come over later today. I luckily have the correct amount of cash in the house for him or I would have had to go out again.2025 GOALS

Far milder here today (no scraping!) and forecast is warmer and wet for the next couple of days.
LO pasta for lunch and beans with toast tonight.
Long busy day and the next two look much the same…roll on the weekend 🙃0 -
Definitely warmer today after a cool start, I put a extra layer on which by this afternoon wasn't needed, I think the rain will bring the temperature up ☔️
thanks for the yogurt tip Farway 🙂 The kettle arrived at 10am not bad seeing as I ordered yesterday after 2pm and seems a nice kettle wherever it came from, as long as I get my tea 😁Work was one unplanned meeting after another my Dutch colleague was continuously on Teams today I've a sore tongue from biting it, I'm not sure what why he doesn't understand that I can't investigate a issue if he doesn't leave me alone 🙄 I hate system upgrades there's always something the testers miss 🫣
Chicken and salad sandwich for lunch the last of the chicken and carcass popped into the freezer for soup at a later date, it may be better with another small chicken carcass. Stir fry pork and veg with rice for dinner, unusually for me I pick up a packet sauce as it was on offer the name firecracker should have warned me 🥵 just a little hot! I wouldn't be buying it again as it was too spicy to enjoy and a waste of a good piece of pork fillet 😕Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
I had some sourdough and butter with a cup of tea with oat milk. I then had the same again as I felt hungry.
I had to drag myself out of bed as I have my reflexology session this morning. My window cleaner is coming round this morning too so my husband will have to let him in. Why didn't I wash my hair last night?! Grr. I need to jump in the shower.2025 GOALS

Good morning everyone,
I'm supporting a rather painful and sizeable bruise on my calf thanks to a 13+kg cannon ball (aka Frank) battering it. He was very excited to be visiting though did settle down after the initial mayhem!!
Meatball and orzo bake was well received. Looking at the panful I expected a fair amount to be leftover, nope just enough for a small lunch each today for DS2 and I!
Slightly milder today but still chilly, it's very overcast and beginning to get breezy. I think we will just be on the fringe of the storm, hopefully it won't be too wild overnight as DS2 is off to Newcastle first thing tomorrow.
CFO tonight as DS2 is having dinner with his Dad, I'll see what I fancy eating later.0 -
Asda arrived on time, one sub, black not white pepper, which i sent back because I have black pepper grinder, more importantly though, nil stock of cold & flu stuff, must be a run on it, I guess with change in weather, COVID etcHowever, I console myself because there's a huge, over 2kg pork shoulder, sold by weight, but I have noticed it is billed at 1kg price [£4], happened last time, so I thought I'd try to push my luck againI'll probably freeze it and use at ChristmasRain & wind just starting up, storm Babette making landfall here & on its way to drench DGD near Aberdeen tomorrow, again!Made fresh overnight loaf ready for lunch, salad sarnie I thinkDinner, mixed grill, the bacon odd shapes was another jackpot with thick slices of gammon in there, I'm going to try out the Richmond veggie bangers as wellEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
