Quiet work day, one colleague off sick and my boss had a afternoon appointment so I had time to tick off a lot of my to do list and I finished on time 🙂 which doesn't happen very often

A quick trip to Waitrose tonight, just a small list mainly F&V and some dairy I did have a voucher for £1 off a small chicken so was fancying roast chicken, I'm working Saturday so I'll probably cook it tomorrow so I can have LO Saturday as it will be a long work day with a planned finish of 9pm but that may be brought forward

i made minestrone soup lunch time although I forgot to add the bacon 🙄 and had a bowl for lunch 😋 plenty of LOs.  Dinner was Moroccan lentil and carrot salad and I picked up a small lemon tart YS and had with a cuppa when I got home 😋

    Good morning everyone,
Glad you had easier days JKS and Brambling.  :)
Cold and damp her this morning, I think the time has come to pop the CH on for an hour in the morning!
Tesco due soon and then I'll see what the day brings.
Last of the soup for lunch and usual Friday tbc for dinner.

Rain has arrived at last, proper wet everything stuff, dull & wet sums it up for today
    .
Made a loaf overnight, just as well because the LO crust I had earmarked for breakfast toast had gone mouldy, so binned & porridge, which was ideal considering the weather

Lunch, fresh bread sarnie, not sure about the filling just yet
With the weather, I am defrosting a Pukka streak pie for dinner, with HM mash & frozen veg.
I saw a method of "roasting" carrots in the AF, I have some bendy ones so may try that out, if it works I'll add parsnips to my Asda list

  • It is absolutely pouring here today. The workman finished at 12 yesterday which was good.

I am still achy and feel like I am getting a fibromyalgia flare up from that walking in the rain the other night. I haven't had a flare in ages. I am going to have a hot shower and then rub some deep heat into my shoulders where it is aching.

I had a PB sandwich and some sparkling water for breakfast. I will have the last of that HM soup with a buttered roll for lunch. I used some of a bag of frozen veg from Asda in the soup as well as fresh fridge bits and it came out so nice. I'm going to make another batch this weekend.

  • Well, I made it to the weekend. Still a few issues that had to be sorted today so have resigned myself to working for a few hours over the weekend to get an essential task finished, it just wasn’t going to get done today and I would rather do that than work late tonight.

So, am having a relaxing evening…and wine!

Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toast for lunch. Just made a yummy use up dinner - end of the mushrooms, end of the pack of Parma ham, end of the tub of creme fraiche plus clove of garlic, gnocchi from the freezer, splash of white wine and frozen peas 😋

I 'roast' parsnips in my AF Farway if I don't have my oven on, I very rarely roast carrots normally because I forget.  If you see them on offer the Aunt Bs parsnips work very well in the AF although I get annoyed as they can vary widely in size so you have to sort before cooking 🙄 and don't add oil to the AB ones

I received a 10 year anniversary evoucher from work and I'm thinking about a ninja 9-1 or 15-1 currently weighing up the options, my AF and electric pressure cooker are both getting old and feeling their age,  they were bought at the same time half price so owe me nothing! Im thinking I could also rehome the slow cooker freeing up the space of three items with it rather than swapping them out all the time.  The voucher is for John Lewis which are actually not a lot different in price from Amazon, I would have to add a little bit if I got the 15-1 🤔

As we are working tomorrow we tried to finish on time again today, I persuaded the boss that a 4.50pm 'urgent' email form a colleague in Texas could wait until next week as we have different opinions on what is 'urgent'  🙄 she hadn't given enough info on the data she wanted so it was a quick reply as for more and we both logged off 😁

lunch was the last of the lentil and carrot salad.  I roasted a small chicken for dinner (with parsnip) so plenty of LOs.  Not sure about the Waitrose cooking times on the chicken according to them it needed 85 mins in the oven seeing it was only 1.2kg I decided that was too long so dropped it to 70mins and TBHi could have cooked it a little less.

  • Now I fancy parsnips! Air fried carrots are very nice. They come out sweet if you use oil.

I have had a smoothie, strawberries, blackcurrants, blackberries, raspberries, banana and spinach!

I'm not sure what to have for lunch yet. I do have some frozen baked potatoes that I haven't even opened yet so maybe something with them. Baked beans and salad, perhaps. Maybe I might make air fried carrots today too at some point.

It feels chillier today. I ordered some basics like leggings from George that are arriving today. I might go and look in a charity shop later for some autumnal type jumpers and tops.

Sunny and much colder this morning, 'flu jab first thing and maybe plant some daffs later

Just looked at the Ninjas Brambling, seem ideal with a free voucher,. And I suppose if replacing cooker etc then worthwhile. I'm thinking on similar lines for when my AF eventually goes pop, I have lots of "points" stored from shopping scanning and various survey things
I'll look out for ABs parsnips on offer, they are £3 for 500g at the moment, :o V  50P for fresh, so that's a pass.

Lunch, Heinz cream of chicken soup, currently on multibuy offer so splashed out this week
Dinner, never made mash yesterday, so try again, this time maybe roast them, along with the droopy carrots, with defrosted LO chicken leg & frozen veg

    Good afternoon everyone,
    Happy gadget shopping Brambling!
My new Kindle has arrived, I was given a voucher by my family for my birthday in June but had held off waiting for a price drop which it did last week. My current one is getting very slow and prone to freezing, it's had a lot of use so doesn't owe me anything.
It's been an unexpectedly busy 24 hours - my poor sis has put her back out and to go to an emergency physio appointment. My nephew was working so DS2 got her some shopping and also collected Ari to bring him here overnight so she didn't have to worry about taking him out. I'd just got the pooches sorted out when I had a (welcome) surprise visit from my oldest friend who has just started a part time job in the local supermarket. It was lovely to get an impromptu catch up. My sis is thankfully much more mobile this morning and came by to collect Ari and have a cuppa.
I'm not sure what the rest of the day will bring, it cold and we've had a few heavy, quite wintry showers, it supposed to dip to 2C overnight tonight and it's only 9C now. Winter seems to have arrived with a thump! Forecast looks better tomorrow so I think some outdoor things I want to do will wait until then.
Made a bacon, cabbage and potato hash/stew for dinner yesterday, very tasty and there's some LO for lunch. I'm CFO tonight as DS2 is off out with his mates.
  • Lovely sunny day so load of towels out on the line. Also done a grocery shop and a bit of ironing but not much else 😉

Spinach and ricotta tortellini with tuna, sweetcorn and sun dried tomatoes for lunch. Lamb burger, roast new potatoes with feta & oregano and tomato & onion salad tonight.
