    Good morning everyone,
My deck has a roof and I have my "happy space" back.   <3The guttering still needs to go up once the awol part finally arrives but the project is pretty much done. :)
We did end up with all three pooches, it's been mayhem but thankfully they did settle down yesterday evening and were good overnight.
Ari is here until tomorrow night but Frank will go home this evening after DS1 & DIL-to-be have had dinner here.
I've a few admin bits to do today but apart from that nothing much planned, the pooches will be more than enough. I have no idea how I coped when I had three dogs, all from the same litter, and two young children!!
LOs for lunch and chicken, celery and cucumber stir fry for dinner.

  • Sounds like your deck project was one of those that grew and grew, caronc - glad you’re happy with it.

Sunny day here and definitely felt a bit warmer in the sun, shame I was in the office…rain forecast for my wfh day tomorrow 😅

Smoked mackerel pitta pizza, coleslaw and salad for lunch. Made creamy bacon and mushroom pasta tonight with garlic and rosemary in the sauce 😋

My Sparks is an offer free zone, not a thing, nearly as bad as W8rose where the offers are rubbish these days, at least as far as I'm concerned, may be ideal for some of course. I suspect I'm not a target customer for any s/market hence no reason to try and suck me in tempt me
The Waitrose ones can be 'interesting' at times I've no plans to use them this week but there is 50p off milk.  The Sparks ones have started to do a percentage off some months rather than saying £1 off when you spent £7 on laundry etc mine this month included 10% off fruit, meat, bakery and tins of pulses or tomatoes but as I walked down and I didn't need anything else I only brought the rolls.  With their clothes offers it's always after I've  brought something they offer money off the following month 🙄

Talking of Waitrose I was offered a Christmas slot today ahead of releasing them on the 4th oct, I decided against Christmas Eve but have booked one for the Saturday 23rd holding it with gin and steak to make the £40 I must remember to tweak 😁 I'm sure my sister will add to it although these days it's easy to make the minimum. It may get cancelled never the time

lunch was a bacon and egg roll,  Dinner was LO Moroccan lentil and carrot salad with some smoked mackerel from the freezer,

Oh, I'll have to keep a look-out, unless I've been struck off due to not ordering much from them lately :( . Last year of course I made the mistake of my Asda "holding" items, included a fresh turkey, that could not be removed past whatever date.  :s
Whatever I decide, it is certain to cost more than last year

Had a call from the Surgery, and I'm now booked in for Covid jab. I was in two minds about it this year but decided to play safe given age & health etc

Lunch, more toast, with a couple of eggs
Dinner, defrosting a Pukka chicken pie from back when on offer in July. That with HM mash & nuked frozen peas
I think this week will include a lot of freezer items, try & reduce long term items that have been lurking

    Good morning everyone,
Yes JKS, the deck itself was fairly straightforward it was the drains that swallowed up the time. Good to get them finally sorted out.
Frank went home yesterday evening and both Hector and Ari just collapsed after he went. They are both still very snoozy this morning. It's fair to say that Frank's energy levels post-illness are fully restored.  He's still very skinny though and on five carefully balanced meals a day, I spent a fair chunk of yesterday feeding pooches all of whom wanted what the others were having!!
Wet, grey and windy today. My sis and nephew are coming for our usual Tuesday dinner though it will be the last one for a couple of weeks as my sis is away next week and then it's our family long weekend. Cheesy cauliflower, leek and bacon pasta bake - it's just the weather for it!  :) Fridge bits for lunch.

  • I had another Quorn ham and mustard sandwich for breakfast. I think it is the breand and mustard I like more than the ham.

I took some leftover veggie (and lentil?) curry out of the freezer so that wil be lunch. I will cook some rice to go with it.

  • Busy wfh day, far more meetings than I thought were in the diary…

LO bacon and mushroom pasta for lunch. Just had my usual early tea of beans with toast before swimming later this evening.

TBH I've rarely had a delivery from anyone this year but Waitrose underground parking with no faffing having to get a ticket authorised after 6pm does sometimes make them more attractive than the other SMs when it rained plus their meat and fish counters 😁 they are opposite Sainsbury's so I tend to go there more for the basics. 🤷‍♀️

A busy enough day to make it go fast without being manic 😁 and still warm enough with the sun shining through the window to wish I could be outside at least this mild weather means no thoughts of the heating on yet

Falafels for lunch in a flat bread with salad.  A lazy vegetable pizza and salad for dinner with HM coleslaw

    Good morning everyone,
We're due to get some strong winds later but think we are just missing the brunt of Agnes and it should pass overnight. I do hope so as DS2 is off early tomorrow to head to the office for the day.
Lots of voluntary admin due this week so that will keep me out of mischief.
LO pasta bake for lunch and I've Cumberland sausage that DS2 bought from Tebay services defrosting for dinner. I'll let him decide if we are going down the mash/gravy  or beans/wedges route later.
Hope everyone avoids any storm damage.

Sunny and mild here even though I know Agnes is going to give many a battering we have been left off the list, maybe an occasional shower

Had to collect a parcel first thing, the delivery driver took it to delivery hub [local newsagent] instead of normal just leaving it on door step. A bit of an inconvenience but gave me a chance to pop into Morries, no YS luck today though, there were YS but nothing I wanted, so I came home with a cucumber & Passion Flowers plant, which I bought in error, thought it was a clematis, Doh! :( Only £2.39 so not an expensive error

Lunch, more toast, and more grilled cheese as well
Dinner, freezer lucky dip, some MFO no doubt, there's a liver & bacon RM in there that I know of
