Lurgy keeping at bay, a bit of a sore throat this morning but hardly a showstopper for me.I was up in early & the dark and feeling fine, needed to collect my normal prescription, plus a spot of lavender trimming at the volunteer place next to Chemist, a beautiful day at the moment, nice & sunnyBrambling said:Farway said:Dinner, depends on if lurgy returns, assuming it doesn't then I have a pack of Asda chicken quarters, on offer. I'll roast them same as I do M & S ones and compare them. Not sure how many in Asda pack, but odd as it may seem M & S appear to be cheaper on the face of it, I'll know once opened
whilst i was looking
I see Waitrose are £1.59 for 2 which is £3 a kilo I've brought them YS and they are as meet the M&S standard!
I prefer the M & S, last M & S I had were three for £1.50, two biggies & a toddler. M & S for size & taste and will stick to those in future, but had to try the Asda on offer just in case, MSE etcNice to have a tomato situation Brambling, they do look nice. Mine are just about done for now, just a few cherry ones on the window sillLunch, gnaw a cold roast chicken thigh, just 'cos I have them & it's easyDinner, another of the cold chicken bits, maybe with saladEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Warm in the sun today but there is a definite autumnal chill at the beginning and end of the day now isn’t there?
Got a load of bedding dried on the line and did a food shop. Also done some more voluntary admin, reading and catch up tv.
Filled pasta with peas, sun dried tomatoes and salad leaves for lunch. Pizza, salad and coleslaw tonight (in front of Strictly 💃🏽😊)0 -
I agree JKS definitely a autumnal chill, a long sleeve tee shirt was needed this morning and another layer added when watching strictly 🙂
Annual trip to the vet this morning, the vet is happy with him but the cat is still not happy with me 😾 'not my cat' was very nearly flat cat from lurking under my car, luckily I came back in for some thing and saw him lying behind the front wheel 🙄
I dropped tomatoes off at my sisters on the way back and picked up a courgette in exchange. Then a trip out to the farm shop for a few items including their sausages and bacon and some local watercress 😋. A friend dropped off a large bag of bramley apples tonight which look like they will need cooking sooner rather than later so a job for tomorrow, there maybe some freezer rejigging due to the amount of tomato related items already in there
The freezer produced a HM bean burger which did me for lunch with some fried tomatoes and salad. Cooked breakfast for dinner using some of the bacon and sausages, black pudding from the freezer and the rest of the baked beans opened yesterdayLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
It wasn't as cold as I thought coming home last night so I didn't need my scarf or the jumper I had put in my bag.
I finished watching the show Wilderness on Prime before I went out. It is a British thriller set in the US. It was very good. I didn't recognise the actress, but apparently she is from Emmerdale and Doctor Who, Jenna Coleman.
I really fancy baked beans on toast this morning.0 -
A bit dull & indifferent weather this morning, at least it's dry, I just may have a potter in garden later and plant out some foxgloves gasping for a home before winterLucky escape for not my cat Brambling, it's taken a shine to you, or at least your tin openerNce breakfast for dinner BTW, now reminded me to add black Pud to my Asda list, they won't be able to classify my shopping with black pudding & veggie bangers on the same listMy lurgy is decreasing, slight occasional cough but nothing bad requiring cough mixture or a Vic rubLunch, use up mushroom omeletteDinner, last two of the roasted chicken eighths, maybe with more saladEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good morning everyone,All go here, DS2 is trying to get the deck roof finished before the weather closes in and the family are coming for an impromptu lunch. Thankfully DS1 & DIL-to-be are bringing deli bits so I just need to make a salad. Then we are Frank and possibly Ari sitting overnight.I suspect the day will take care of itself lol! Belly pork ribs, with potatoes & peppers and broccoli for dinner. The corn "ribs" I cooked last night to go with our burgers were delicious though I needed DS2 to cut the cobs up for me.Need to stir my stumps and dry my hair if I can reclaim my hair dryer from DS2 who is using it to soften flashing!!0

Bit of a rainy, grey day here. Did brighten up a bit in the afternoon but was breezy again. Not convinced the predicted last ditch mini heatwave is happening this week 🤔
Finally cleaned the bathroom this morning (my least favourite job) before heading off for a swim. Garlic & herb cream cheese and balsamic roasted tomatoes on toast for lunch with a few homegrown salad leaves.
Easy afternoon - watched Sully, did the few bits of ironing and a couple of days of lunch prep. Made steak, fig and Gorgonzola salad for dinner.0 -

today I was asked by a neighbour if I had got another cat as he spends so much time playing and lying in my garden 🙄 he chases after his lordship who now wears that look older brothers get about annoying little brothers tailing after them
it's been a nice day here 2 loads of washing dried and some gardening done this morning before I walked into town and back to collect a order from M&S.I brought some breakfast rolls in M&S using a 10% sparks offer on their bakery and had a late lunch of a cheese and piccalilli roll using the scrapings of the piccalilli 😋. As it was a late lunch I didn't want to cook what was planned for dinner so made a quick Moroccan lentils and carrot salad for dinner and chopped in a couple of LO cooked sausages from yesterdayLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
It was quite hot yesterday when I popped to the shop and it feels warm again today. I am really dreading winter and the cold weather arriving.
I got a Tesco delivery yesterday and I got some Quorn ham which I had in a sandwich with wholegrain mustard. Very nice. I think I will have it again for lunch along with some mini cucumbers, tomatoes and olives.
Breakfast is going to be a smoothie and a coffee.2025 GOALS

Sunny start here, and warm, supposed to be fine then Wednesday is badBrambling said:I brought some breakfast rolls in M&S using a 10% sparks offer on their bakeryStill on shopping, the local ex Lidl shop is to become Farm FoodsLidl went to a larger store in a nearby town, as did their W8rose predecessor. Not sure what this may say about the area
, Waitrose becomes a Farm Stores. I've never been in a FS but from the leaflets' that sometimes come to me, I don't think I will be in there very much
Lunch today, grilled cheese on toastDinner, taken a YS cod fillet in crumbs out to defrost, that with HM AF chips & nuked frozen peasEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
