Out for lunch today (roast beef 😋) so have had a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel with a glass of wine tonight. Did some voluntary admin before I went out but had a lazy afternoon. Now watching Kylie live on iPlayer 🙌0

Caronc my brother and 2 of my sisters have birthdays within 10 days of each other at end Oct beginning of Nov probably something to do with long winter nights and no electricity 😁 I share my birthday with a cousin, a great niece and a great nephew 🤨I'm glad I got my washing done yesterday as we had a thunder storm and a heavy rain shower lunch time.LO chicken and lentil salad for lunch. Roast lamb etc for dinner 😋Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0

My neighbour has put some wood over the hole in the fence for us.
We also had our water turned off yesterday and my husband and the same neighbour went down the street to ask a workman if he had done it. He said we should have got a text about it. We did get a text about half an hour later, but the water was only off for about an hour and a half anyway.
I had Chinese for dinner last night which wasn't very nice so I am feeling quite rough today!
I'm just having some water with lemon at the moment.0 -
Wet morning, following thunder last night, very damp & dreary outside at the momentWednesday, a badger, well I never. I have heard they can be very destructive, far from the cute & cuddly Mr Brock. I wonder if the neighbour's gate was a recent addition and inadvertently blocking an old badger route?I stewed some of my excess apples yesterday, enough to see me through the week at least, could even be crumble time later this weekMy 500g pack of 90P "cooking bacon" bits was jackpot this week
, it's all chunks of gammon with no fat or gnarly bits, so nice I'm having it for dinner tonight
Made a fresh loaf, cooling right now and using for lunchtime salad sandwichDinner, some of the chunky gammon lumps, eggs & HM AF chipsStewed apple later if any empty spaceEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
I know Farway. I have only seen a badger a few times in my life, when I was a kid in rural Ireland and once in rural Oxfordshire. I wouldn't have even thought there would be one in my back garden!
I have noticed that I have hardly ever seen any foxes since I moved here. I have only seen one fox in a year and a half so it might be because there are badgers here.
Another neighbour said she has seen badgers down an alleyway near my house recently and she thinks it is the building work on a shop that has disrupted them.2025 GOALS

Really enjoyed a day off just being at home. Went out in the garden first thing before the rain came - did some deadheading and tidying plus put a few bulbs in some pots that I had emptied of summer bedding. I’ve also cleaned the utility room, some windows, dusted the lounge and done all the downstairs floors. Did some voluntary admin after lunch, sorted car insurance renewal and have cleared the ironing pile. Amazing how much energy I have when there’s no work to deal with 😅
Scrambled eggs and smashed avocado on toasted bagel for lunch. Tuna and broccoli pesto pasta tonight.0 -
A nice quiet day, just as well as I'm on my own during the afternoons this week
sleep was broken by a over head thunderstorm at midnight followed by heavy rain on and off all night and into this morning. For the second time in a week there was some one at the door after money for charity, seems to be the same guys just wearing a tabard with a different charity name, they always seem to arrive when I'm cooking dinner I'm sure a planned move. I don't quite shut the door in their face but I do tell them I don't give my bank details to strangers on the door step whatever the charity I suppose people do or they wouldn't bother. It seems gone are the days they want cash in a envelope or bucket they want you to donate a monthly amount, I do support a couple of local charities but that hasn't involved giving my bank details to random guys, it does bug me 🙄cheese and salad sandwich for lunch. LO lamb roast dinner with added new potatoes
it seems my whistle not only brings his lordship running! It was a race to the front door tonight with a final bust of speed by my old man, I did feel guilty shutting the door on the little cat but needs must 🐱Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin1 -
Very windy and squally this morning, my planned volunteer gardening was cancelled, just not pleasant in this weather. Went off to Morries, mainly to post a letter, but added in bottle bank while there, and managed to get some fresh in pansies for next spring cheerAlso, YS mild cheddar, I prefer mature but half price YS trumps that, plus a cuc because Asda has nil stock supposedly for tomorrow deliveryWith the weather, it was porridge for breakfast, ideal todayLunch, YS mild cheddar and new cucumber sarnieDinner, no idea, has to be something frozen & nuked until Asda delivery tomorrow. I did spot a RM liver & bacon MFO in there, which sounds just the jobEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good morning everyone,
Sounds as though wee cat wants you to adopt him Brambling!
I had lovely lunch/afternoon with my old colleagues. The time just flew past and I only realised I hadn't posted when I was falling asleep. I had beautifully cooked haddock, chips and mushy peas. So nice to see breaded rather than battered fish on the menu. Back to "old clothes and porridge" today though glad I'm not wrangling myself into tights today!! Think it was the first time I've had tights on in over a year! The weather is horrible so a day for the house I think. My sis and nephew are coming for dinner I'm cooking a sausage, leek and apple pie. Just the weather for it.
