Sunshine to start the day, a very pleasant Autumn day by the looks of it
A bit envious of all the tomato mentions, mine are nearly finished, just a few stragglers left, not enough to fiddle around making soup or roasting
I do have apples, though, which I think I may stew & freeze this weekend. These early ones generally do not store well fresh

I've got a volunteer meeting this afternoon, so quickish sandwich for lunch and dinner will be something from the freezer depending on how I feel at the time. There's pizza in there if all else fails to inspire

    Good morning everyone,
My greenhouse tomatoes are only just starting to properly crop but it's been a very poor yield this year. I'll get a few more from the conservatory plants but will take them down in the next couple of weeks.
Chilly and grey here this morning. It turned really quite wintry here yesterday with lashing rain and cold wind. I light the stove last night. The house has lost any warmth it was holding from the recent hot spell so I suspect an evening fire may be a regular thing from now on. Don't think it will be that long until the central heating is on for a bit in the morning too.
DS2 headed to Newcastle just after 5am, Hector settled back to sleep just fine.  :)
A bit of a rinse and repeat day activity wise - admin and domestics.
The Moroccan-style lamb meatballs from Tebay Services were just gorgeous, pricey but definitely worth it. LOs for lunch.  :) Tonight it's yoghurt chicken curry with rice and naan.
  • Bit confused this evening as I normally go into the office on a Thursday and wfh on Fridays, keep thinking it’s the weekend and I can have a 🍷. Oh well, one more day to go.

Posh fishfinger wrap for lunch with lettuce and pickled gherkins 😋

Just has chorizo and chickpea stew with salad and toasted pitta. No wine 😬
  • I ate at a cafe for breakfast after dropping my dog off at the vet this morning. I had a full vegan breakfast which made me think I should do that myself at home as it filled me up most of the day. We saw The Equalizer 3 at the O2 and then I went back to Leigh-on-sea to get my flu jab and then picked up my dog from the vet. The medication we were giving her seemed to work as she only needed a dental clean and luckily didn't need any teeth out. :) I need to call and see if the pet insurance covers that tomorrow to see if we can get any money back.

I am very tired as I nearly did 19,000 steps so I just had garlic bread and wine for dinner as I was too tired to cook!

Weather seems to be having the last flourish before autumn 🙂 busy day at work as I was the only person working this afternoon, at least it makes the day go fast!

His lordship seems to have acquired a little friend which is interesting as he was rehomed as he didn't play nicely with his brother.  When I called him in last night a little black and brown tabby followed him up the path and tried to get indoors, I would have said it's young and very friendly.  This morning he was on the path sunbathing and after a sniff they both sat on next doors lawn ignoring each other 🙂 this afternoon it was back and must of made a sound as his lordship suddenly woke up and left via the window.  It would like to come in but I'm not allowing that just hopeful it doesn't find the catflap around the back as I've had previous issues with another cat coming in causing issues.  No idea where it belongs

kipper pate from the freezer for lunch with crackers it gave me indigestion then heart burn all afternoon 😕so I decided not to have the lasagna I had defrosted and have just had some fruit and yogurt for dinner.

quick trip to Waitrose tonight I will admit to getting led astray at their meat counter with a reduced £7 half leg of lamb and a couple of reduced thick Barnsley chops £2 and also a FR Hampshire pork fillet with 2/3 off 😁 so menu plan rejigged in my head.  I had a half leg of lamb in the freezer which had been their a while so I swapped them and will have that at the weekend, I may invite my sister and nephew to share it.

  • Aw. He has a new friend.🤩

I meant to say I went to a new Coop around 4.30 today and found a lot of yellow stickered things. Unfortunately there wasn't anything I would want except carrots for 60p, but I just bought carrots and that price isn't much of a bargain anyway.

Sun here this morning, but I'd already made my mind up for "something" in slow cooker, feeling I need some stodge ready for winter

Wednesday, 60p carrot sis not much of a bargain, only 50p Kg in Asda at the moment, mind you I had some Adsa ones delivered last week, and they are size of tree trunks
Now the lamb does sound a bargain Brambling, very nice, and now a spare cat as well :)

With slow cooker meal, I am using some fresh mince I froze, not had time to defrost, so it's gone in "as is" and I'm breaking it up as it defrosts, not ideal, but it's only me, and I'm not fussy
Also added a couple of tree trunk carrots, chopped, and some spuds, onions, frozen mushrooms & mixed peppers, smells OK so far

Lunch, ploughman's sort of, with own apples, tomatoes + some salad bits

    Good morning everyone,
How sweet for HIs Lordship to have found a wee pal.  :)
Drizzly here and decidedly chilly. Tesco have been - no subs or unavailable items.
Still working my way through what feels like a never ending pile of voluntary admin! Keeps me out of mischief I suppose!! LO curry for lunch and usual Friday tbc for dinner.
  • I know Farway. It wasn't good value at all. That was probably the largest YS section I've ever found as well.

I has sourdough and marg and some strawberries with an oat milk coffee for breakfast.

I have a whole head of broccoli so I might make a vat of soup with a tin of new potatoes even though it is still pretty warm.

  • Quite a nice, sunny day here. Unfortunately I was in the office so didn’t see much of it. Oh well, made it through a full week and now have a couple of short weeks as need to use up leave - 4-day weekend for me this week 🙃

Tuna and sweetcorn mayo in a pitta bread for lunch, with some cucumber sticks and a bag of crisps. Still on fridge and freezer use up so did a chicken thigh, new potato and pepper traybake tonight. LOs will be turned into something tomorrow night!

Anyone watching The Woman in the Wall? I’m all caught up now and waiting for Sunday’s episode (no binge watching this one 😬)
